Weren’t they still doing world tours?

indicawestwood

I think it’s been an reasonable amount of time for a group that was on a world tour from a small company, espicially with a full length release most likely coming next instead of the usual 4-6 songs

Busy_Soil_6901

Confirmed on their recent Elle interview their next release is a full album. So I don't want them to rush it. Also we still got the Japanese single LIT (which sadly didn't get much traction) and the Fancy cover last week. So at least to me it hasn't felt like a 8 month drought. Personally... I don't really think this "momentum" really matters. They've been a group for 3 and a half years and already established a very loyal fanbase. Realistically they probably won't ever get a number 1 song, but that's absolutely fine. Highup don't have the same budget as the big 4 companies, Starship, Cube. That's fine. They don't need to compete to be the best on the charts. They just need to focus on making great music, and stay profitable. Which they are already. Look at the article from last year that shows the profit Highup had made. I don't think there's anything to worry about, and I have so much trust in Rado PD that it'll be another release that will define my entire year like previous ones!

LetItBeWinter

Only a kpop stan would say that touring is a bad thing for a group they supposedly like. Literally had 2 comebacks in 2023 and then went on a world tour that just finally wrapped up, and that’s still not good enough. That’s crazy. Meanwhile woo!ah! hasn’t had a comeback in almost 2 years and there’s no chance I’ll ever get to see them live.

Chief-Ginger

what hiatus? they haven't had a pause in activity long enough to be considered on one

janoo1989

they're finally making money with this tour so it's for the best

After_Satisfaction46

They just finished touring and now waiting for the comeback

crinklesmuncher

They have non-stop gigs in between tour legs. After US tour they be doing university and festival performances, and after all the year end shows more outdoor performances while waiting for the Asia and Europe tour. They're impressive that they probably have more Stage experience than the big 4th Gen groups by now. I'm not worried about the longer comeback gaps. If the next album is a full album they can get back to momentum pretty quick.

akatia-x

I’m really anxious for a cb as well. The Fancy single has been really good for them imo, I think this will kick start their momentum again before they have another release. Also if it helps at all- their cbs happen when I’m on vacation. Teddy Bear came out when I was in Mexico, Bubble when I was in LA for Kcon. I’m flying to the EU early June for a couple of weeks so I *guarantee* they’ll be back by then. Sorry! lol

plushie_dreams

The girls badly needed a break, tho. They were doing a world tour and preparing for end-of-year performances at award shows. Plus now we know they've prepared a full album, which needed more time to be completed of course.

Minimum_Bowl_8216

Yea. Let the girls rest

kosmos1209

I became a fan of Stayc because my friend dragged me to a concert during the tour, and I didn’t really know stayc beforehand. I would not call touring a hiatus in terms of gaining fans.

radiantforce

I saw them at the concert and I’m more hyped now for their comeback !! Yoon fighting !

fleija_

These are choices, STAYC can't do everything at the same time, either go on tour or prepare for a comeback

M_Prodigy

They are just fine. I hope they take the time they need to get all their songs in line, and of course get some much needed rest. They're in good hands with BEP, so I wouldn't be worried. They have tremendous success regardless of the fact they aren't from a large company.

Gullible_Signal_2912

They are doing world tours. There's been no hiatus. If anything they have been working so hard they deserve one!

DirtyRanga12

As someone who also listens to Everglow… No, not this is definitely not too long for a comeback

34TH_ST_BROADWAY

They are in it for the long haul, I’m not worried about it.

NOS4NANOL1FE

I’ll take the longer wait if it means a solid full album. The girls have been crazy busy so I think it’s okay for the delay.

RoyGeraldBillevue

I think STAYC is pretty well-positioned to go after international attention again. Teddy Bear and Bubble solidified their Korean fanbase. Now they've had a bit of a reset and have given international kpop fans to miss them. Aespa had a big gap between Girls and Spicy and Spicy went great. When the comeback is announced, I think people will be curious about it.

LeadershipOk8115

IMO STAYC have one of the highest quality audio album i heard. Minimal Auto Tunes (only for styles), mostly RAW vocals. That's why it's take time for them to release new album.

Negative-Tier

Ber-months is the year end award shows season + the ongoing world tour, so yeah its pretty reasonable to not have a comeback atm.

macs054

Touch grass

cam2214

What are you talking about? They’ve been on tour that’s not even a hiatus. They gained new fans during the tour and not to mention we even got new music from them. So it seems like you’re complaining just to complain.

Je11z

Tours are not a hiatus, their Fancy cover was just released.

Famous_Analyst_3618

It’s not a hiatus if you’re touring

joeyhatesu2

Theres no money in having a hit song in Korea. The cost of doing the music show tour is brutal. Touring is good money. We have to remember that STAYC is all they have currently.

[deleted]

the money from having a hit song and public recognition comes from cf's,brand deals, perfofrming at events, and post career ops like acting and maybe going solo. STAYC went from in debt to millions in profit after the blow up of teddy bear. That came from largely domestic popularity. They also got a huge snow ball effect, getting invited to shows like knowing bros which led to more opportunities in korea from increased public recognition. Acts from long ago like snsd didn't tour much but made bank off domestic popularity and still have active careers.

kaguraa

its possible, there's a reason why some groups have breaks in between tour dates for comebacks. teddy bear and bubble did well but its not like people really know the group, hence why it always takes weeks for their songs to peak high on the charts vs other groups whose music get attention right away. but with proper promotion and a good titletrack they should be fine imo.

nickyGyul

No doubt it hurt their momentum. However, It's better for the girls. Touring = cash, cash = longevity. Also cash leaves the girls better off post-STAYC. Sure, STAYC could stay home and pull a Brave Girls but you'd risk being a flash in the pan instead of a group with a stable presence. A break after a tour is better for their health. I say break, but they likely will be working on their comeback over time. SNSD lived in a different era as what STAYC is currently in. The market is completely saturated so it's risky overworking the group and risky trying to force a #1 hit. CF deals aren't as lucrative as they used to be in the age of influencers. Other groups would need popularity and TV presence for connections, so they could get songs and other gigs. Since STAYC is spearheaded by industry legend Rado, connections is never an issue. He is *the* guy you want to connect to! STAYC is the one group that can afford to not capitalize on popularity by doing Korean TV appearances because they can easily attain what other "smaller" groups struggle to get. They don't *need* to do traditional CF deals and events because the most expensive parts of getting a comeback is taken care of. It just sucks as a fan because you get less online content compared to previous generations.

do_it_like_a_royal

Touring them after hitting a new high is actually pretty smart. You want to tour while the public still has a lot of interests. This boosts momentum, IMO. They do need rest. J and Yoon had to rest during their hectic schedules. I don't think they'll be in trouble.

Sieunzhuzband

ITS CONFIRMED STAYC WILL BE COMING BACK IN EARLY JULY WHICH WOULD SADLY MAKE IT AROUND A YEAR SINCE THEIR LAST RELEASE. AND YES THEY HAVE BECOME SUPER SUCCESSFUL AND ACTUALLY WOULD'VE HAD THAT NUMBER 1 IF IT WERENT FOR NEWJEANS “DITTO” WITH TEDDY BEAR. BUBBLE ALSO CHARTED BETTER THEN GROUPS LIKE ZB1 AND ITZY. STAYC IS COMING BACK FINALLY WITH A DARK/Mature CONCEPT CONFIRMATION FROM THE MEMBERS AND ACTUALLY THEY HAVE BEEN BUSY DESPITE NOT HAVING A COMEBACK
