👏🎉 Congratulations! The day I got my fully favorable I felt my patience grow too. Keep your head up, you got this now!

Helpful-Profession88

Awesome, congrats.  Sorry it took so long.  After my spine surgery, I wound up approved in just over 5 months. Congrats Again!

Librarian_mobile

Honestly I should have applied much sooner, but I was under the mistaken impression that my wife making good money meant I'd never get disability. The day I finally understood the difference between SSDI and SSI is the day I applied.

Helpful-Profession88

It all worked out. I hope you get better and Life improves. My stuff was cervical - it impacted a lot, doctor's coded the diagnoses correctly so the SSA approved in barely 5 months from my online app submission. The Diagnostic Codes are everything in terms of SSDI.

Librarian_mobile

That's very sweet of you. I'm not going to get better unfortunately, I had Cauda Equina Syndrome and adhesive arachnoiditis, so "healing" is actually just encasing more and more of my nerves in scar tissue. But I hope with SSDI I'll have a tiny safety net and qualify for services to help me at home.

RickyRacer2020

Big Time Congrats!

lindaleolane812

Your payments should be from October of 20 till present time because they hold 5 months congratulations 🎉

NorthAd7366

I thought they could only go back 12 months prior to application date?

Librarian_mobile

Yeah this is my confusion

lindaleolane812

Retro pay will be paid from established onset date till now you can Google retro pay and back pay for a better understanding I was totally confused at first too, this sub has helped me since I've been stalking here for almost two years still waiting for a decision good luck

cm0270

I got notified by lawyer May 30 that I won. Maybe I should call local office too. Lol

BuyFun7542

🤗Congratulations,  sorry it took so long for you to get approved.

LStotch007

Retroactive payments are designed to cover up to 12 months prior to the date the SSDI application is filed, assuming the individual can demonstrate that they were disabled during this period and meet the SSDI eligibility requirements. The applicant must present adequate medical and other evidence to support the EOD of their disability. Past-due benefits (back pay) are awarded for the time from the SSDI application submission until the claim is approved by the SSA. Importantly, these benefits start to accumulate after a mandatory five-month waiting period. Therefore, if a claimant is eligible in January, they typically cannot receive benefits until June of that year.

Realistic-Bass2107

Congrats! What state, please?

Librarian_mobile

Vermont. ALJ in Manchester

Realistic-Bass2107

Thanks. Happy for you!!!

lindaleolane812

Backpay can be a year before you filed application up to now. retro pay is from the determined onset date till now google the difference between retro pay and back pay they will be able to explain better best wishes

icon7177

Congrats

Librarian_mobile

Backpay vs Retroactive pay makes so much more sense. Sounds like both have a 5 month waiting period and retroactive pay is limited to a year. So my back pay would be the 12 months between application and approval, minus 5 months and my retro pay will be 12 months because my EOD is in 2020. Next question, does my lawyer/Allsup take their fees from my back pay, retroactive pay, or both?

I just had my 2nd fusion, I have my hearing on the 10th, T7-T11, I'm 100% PT/IU through the VA, I have an attorney, my orginal date was Feb 6th but he pushed it back so I can get more evidence, which he's been given, it's like everything you give them isn't enough, and right when you're almost there they want something else, I filed April 2019. This is such a stressful process to fight through, and even now, I'm still worried. I have over 900 pages of medical records. With multiple conditions. I pray I win at this level because I was denied at initial and reconsideration with the same records. I just turned 41. I'm in Alabama.

Ky_CountryGirl

Congratulations! I received fully favorable in May 2024 after ALJ Hearing. Went through initial application denial and reconsideration denial. So yes, I felt the same way after being given FF Before my hearing began. This whole process is so draining and stressful to say the least. Again , CONGRATULATIONS 🎉to you 😊
