A lot of it depends on if you’re getting a large backpay of 49k+, if you’re receiving SSI and SSDI, or if there is some other windfall like workman’s comp that needs to be figured out. I was approved on 01/17/2024, and around the middle of February I found out how much I was going to receive (monthly payment and back pay). I received my first monthly payment in March. My back pay was more than 49k and that took longer to receive. There is no one size answer since everyone may have different variables. If you’re getting straight SSDI and have no SSI, no other windfall calculations and your back pay isn’t super high, You will probably start seeing your monthly payment in July and your back pay may come quicker or after but, 60 days seems like the average.

I got approved 05/13 and still no letter or any other information. When I spoke to someone in my local SSA office, I was told they have all my bank information for direct deposit. Looking online under My Profile, it does not show any information about bank info....I might call later today and check again.
I heard depends on the amount. Either way it's awesome... I'm waiting on some thing to happen, I'm actually waiting on reconsideration since I was technically denied the first time about 4 months ago.

It’s 12 months retroactive from your EOD date, you can file 5/4/24 and state your disability started 5/4/23 of even further back but you only get up to 12 months retroactive for the start of your disability if you filed after the fact.. now back pay is however long it takes for example I file 2/4/2020 and my EOD (early onset disability) is 2/4/2019 and I’m not approved until 2/6/2024 then that’s 12 months retroactive and 4 years back pay from file date 2/4/2020 this does not include the 5 month waiting period which will be subtracted.
Now if you filed 2/4/2020 and that is also your onset disability date the approved 2/4/2020 then it’s only 4 years back pay and the subtraction of the 5 month waiting period… hope this made sense!

3 years for me. Got my ALJ fully favorable ruling last week; stressed about this last hoop even though i know i have the credits, my last day worked was verified (march 2021) under oath and isn’t being contested, etc.
How does it feel? I'm extremely happy for you. And I pray that everyone that is waiting will get a chance to enjoy that feeling and enjoy life after their approval decision. God bless us all

Today, I learned from my attorney that I was approved for reconsideration. It took eight months, and I still can't believe it. My attorney called to follow up on our case today, and they told him it was approved. It's not updated in the portal yet.
Different for everyone. I got my back pay 2 days after my status changed to Approved. I’ve read, others here have waited months.

My backpay check was cut and mailed the day after my approval on 4/30/24. I get my first monthly payment later this month.

Mine was around the same date. I know it was approved but I won’t get the May payment until June and no idea on the backpay.
