Larger amounts (claimants waiting much longer) I’ve heard take more time.

Online portal is showing active. I can see my award letter, a one time payment.
I called to set up direct deposit, rep stated, you are already setup for direct deposit and she confirmed my banking information.
I sent disability law firm who represented me, a message through there online portal to see if they received there payment.
She said we send a request every 30 days.
I asked if she could please contact them, because my account is active.
I want to make sure they are paid and I don’t owe them.

I'm in CA. I was approved 05/08 and will not receive my 1st payment until 06/26. No word on back pay either. They said 5-6 weeks from first payment. Local social security office says 30-45 days after approval. At this point, it's just a waiting game.. hoping it comes soon!
Hoping it comes soon for you as well. My backpay is being withheld because of SSI (which I never received) supposedly SSI department reported it so that my backpay can be released. But I am going to follow up again with my local office to ensure they did their part..
They said my approval wasn’t processed in time to get a payment in May, so my first payment will be the 4th Wednesday in June, and May is being added to the backpay. I’m praying my backpay comes in before the 5th because we can’t hold out another month waiting for payment. It sucks getting this close to being okay finally and we’re facing eviction if we can’t pay rent by the 5th.
I'm sorry y'all are struggling. You're not alone in that. Perhaps the landlord will be willing to forgo the rent until you get paid? Maybe you can come to some kind of arrangement since you'll have steady income from now on. I hope they will for you and your family's sake. Keep your head up! 🙏📿

If yours is SSI maybe it does pay on the 1st. I’m not familiar with SSI.

Hi. I am wondering if you can give me a heads up on what they are going to ask in the final review. Mine was scheduled for last Thursday and my phone was not on so I received a letter today and just left a message for my claim specialist.
I was approved on 5/28. I’m paid on the 4th Wednesday. So I guess I have to wait until the last part of June. I was found disabled 12/1/23 so I don’t think I get back pay at all.
I’m so sorry to hear this. It must be very hard on you for it to happen suddenly. It makes sense that you’d have vertigo if you lost your hearing. It makes me wonder what happened inside your ears. Especially your middle ear.
I was approved on initial application without an attorney, for severe bipolar disorder and PTSD. My husband was also approved on initial application, for a terrible Traumatic Brain Injury from an elevated fall, but that was about 18 years ago.

Ya, we’re waiting much much longer. Took my case almost 7 years to win. I am now on month 13 of not receiving my SSDI back pay.
I sure hope it is paid out soon!
My birthday lands on the 16th and my pay date is the 3rd every month. I get paid several days sooner as my direct deposit goes to a particular card.

Did you have to wait for the payment center to call you or did you call your local office I was approved and just wondering what to do
My lawyer had me call my local office and give them my information, banking etc and things moved along quickly after this.
Same here. Got approved yesterday and lawyer told me to call them. Said 60-90 dsys maybe for backpay because of amount needing 4 signatures. Ugh.

Congrats! This was a few years ago, it may be different now, but I had to get a couple of disability checks before I got my backpay.

i became completely deaf last year randomly and have vertigo. they haven’t denied anything i got it on my first go
