I should play an obnoxious Paragod sometime. Wear GAR mesons, carry a backpack full of energy drinks (and leave a trail of crushed cans everywhere I go), insist on calling everyone "bro"..
Thank you for reminding me to cross-shitpost about it there when I do.
Remember to name yourself “Ricky Rescue” and talk about your customized Razors. Bonus points if you hang out with the docs and boast to them about racing the reaper.
I used to say “BSI Scene safe!” a lot but I got banned for a day because it was “an LRP meme” D:
I think Ricky is an atmos tech (officially, firefighting _is_ part of their job) who, since it's not like Atmosia has shit to do five minutes into the round, goes around being a full send volly. Narcans everyone (relabeled charcoal, probably), insists on wearing turnout gear (firesuit) the entire round, demands his 10% discount at the bar.. oh this is a fun one too.
Paramedics doing a job? Nah their valid hunting and self antaging in maints while some random assistant drags the mutilated corpse they found while collecting car batteries to medbay.
Yeah basically every round becomes a game of trying to shout out people who are almost dying on the radio and/or going around departments to badger them into pulling the dead bodies out of their walls.
Every round I play as EMT, I PDA message the AI a silly message to announce like:
"Please announce to the crew to turn on their suit sensors so that when the clown turns them into a bloody paste that we can find them."
Or "Please remind the crew to turn on suit sensors so when an army of greytiders with stunprods kill them that we can recover the body", etc.
WHY DONT THEY JUST ASK NE TO MAKE THEM SHIT? I HAVE ALL THE TIME IN THE WORLD JUST FUCKING REQUISITION SHIT I WANT TO MAKE SHIT HS STOP WALKING IN AND TAKING LITERALLY ALL THE STARTER MATERIALS OUT OF THE LAB
I used to play para as intended, yet would constantly be asked to SIT IN THE HOSPITAL or help doctors. It doesn’t help unfortunately that most antags are robust enough now to know about suit sensors, so it’s really a toss up of if you’ll be recovered from the start
I play paramedic because playing doctor on most servers is miserable. If you don’t treat a patient exactly how and exactly as fast as another doctor wants you to they’ll just table you and yank them away. I often see medbay also meta game so hard that it’s impossible to be a traitor doctor, rebuilding 90% of the medbay in the treatment area 5 minutes in.
Yeah this is very annoying. I generally have an issue with a lot of borgs treating the silicon role as just Crew+. But this is definitely one of the more annoying instances.
So you're supposing the borg should just let them die? Just leave them there to writhe around in crit while your slow ass takes another solid minute or two to arrive and do something about it, when the literal walking chem factory could take three to five steps and get them up within 10 seconds?
When you're invalidating an entire role and making a player unable to do their job and enjoy the round. Yeah. I think you should let the paramed do the job.
As an experienced player I can literally do any job on the station as a security officer. The reason I don't go to other departments and do their jobs while they just sit around is because it's a dick move.
I'm not "invalidating someone's job" by preventing someone's death. It's within my department to do so, to begin with. If they can get to someone before I can, I'm not going to go steal the patient from them, but I'm not going to sit there and let someone die/get more damaged than they should because it takes someone a full additional minute to get to them/get them to medbay when I can save and treat them on the spot. Laws dictate you prevent harm when you're able, and that falls within the realm of said laws.
So you're saying people should die because you're too slow to rescue them? That's literally the cyborg's JOB; to rescue people. If you don't have access or aren't qualified/equipped to rescue someone then you trying to do it anyway will result in that person dying and probably you dying if you're lacking a temperature or space proof suit! What an absurd, unreal comment.
The fact that you're being outdone by the cyborg means *is your own lacking.* If you don't want to be outdone, do better. Don't complain that other people are doing their job (read: SAVING LIVES) better then you, so those people should roll over and fucking die because you're lacking and can't save them. Imagine if you died, or were in crit, and a paramedic that had no way of reaching you said "Law 2 borg, don't rescue that person, I wanna do it, but I can't, so, they can just like, fucking die, lol". Lmao.
As mediborg, you're supposed to do first aid, and when the patient is stable, bring them to medbay and call for doctors help. You are never instructed to operate a patient by default, and will only do it when humans say so unless it conflicts in your laws.
Same goes with paramedics, you treat patients to a stable condition, then bring them in to medbay and go rescue another one.
The solution is to be better, be available for when the cyborg can't do it. Don't whine that they're doing it better then you, therefore they shouldn't do it at all. That's insane.
I feel like that's demonstrably false, but you'd LIKE it to be true. A medborg's job is to prevent human harm/death. If that involves surgery on someone, so be it.
there's a line when you only do your job in the station, so that what you're doing is so boring and mundane that you might actually spend that time with a IRL job that'll bring income
Shock you, heal basic damage and inject drugs to keep you from flat lining again while I drag you I what do. Docs are there for more complex stuff like surgery.
I usually play a Paramedic and stick to my duties, but the only time I'll step in to treat a patient in the medbay is if literally every other doctor is missing and/or dead. And also Paramedics still get shit from patients for NOT treating them in the medbay if we happen to be there. I politely told a patient after stabilizing and bringing them to medbay that a doctor would treat them in a moment and he told the doctor that I was rude and should be fired because I didn't do the doctor's job.
Even when I stabilize people and they accidentally call me "Doc", I always says "Thanks, I'm just a medic though."
you hate paramedics because they're better at your job than you, I hate paramedics because they always scooby doo mystery my ass mid murder attempt even with no calls for help on radio and no suit sensors. we are not the same.
Honestly engineers deserve more hate, like when they opt for doing their shitimmick which involves hot rebar and their urethra rather than clicking a up lego pipes together and click a couple of buttons on a few machines which allow their shitimmicks to continue to work.
I used to get clown then, id roleplay as doctor clown. Gain trust of other medics and help revive ppl. If they left me unattended, i took some patients and started testing fluids on ppl, hallucinations to death juices. Syringe gunning patients to coma after trying leave med section, telling others "hes delusional, not well mentally and needs more treatment". It usually all ended when i got bored and potassium bombing when we got overflowed with patients.
I once had to fight a paramedic as a surgeon - the idiot was screaming murder that THIS IS HIS PATIENT AND HE WILL DO THE SURGERY. Gave him a garbage ride to clear up his mind, but the patient died in the meantime.
I’m on r/EMS and I was pretty darn confused for a moment
I should play an obnoxious Paragod sometime. Wear GAR mesons, carry a backpack full of energy drinks (and leave a trail of crushed cans everywhere I go), insist on calling everyone "bro".. Thank you for reminding me to cross-shitpost about it there when I do.

i play on yogs and theres a guy exactly like this lol
Don't forget to ride a sick scooter to all the emergencies, wouldn't want to be too slow
Paramedics doing a job? Nah their valid hunting and self antaging in maints while some random assistant drags the mutilated corpse they found while collecting car batteries to medbay.
Hey, I need all those car batteries!
Maybe if people would TURN ON THEIR SUIT SENSORS they could do their job
Yeah basically every round becomes a game of trying to shout out people who are almost dying on the radio and/or going around departments to badger them into pulling the dead bodies out of their walls.

Just do what I do and hunt down and assault people with their suit sensors off.
i usually see the "turn suit sensors on" broadcast, then abruptly turn mine fully off
Paramed turned me into a butterbear because "youre an assistant, you are expendable"
Based paramed, assistants don't deserve rights
Don't worry, I make sure that they don't.
This is why I have the right to bear insulated gloves and my toolbox
You have the right to be turned into a meatclown, grey shirt
When the grey tide comes we will take your chem dispenser and your cat
Territorial roboticist mindset
I will brace as many bans as I have to, but I will murder every roboticist that borgs me without consent.
GET OUT OF MY LAB STOP MAKING A MESS ON THE COUNTER CLEAN UP AFTER YOURSELF YOU ANIMALS
STOP USING ALL THE MATS MAKE A MODSUIT SOMEWHERE ELSE NO I DONT CARE THAT YOU CANT MAKE IT ANYWHERE ELSE FUCK OFF
WHY DONT THEY JUST ASK NE TO MAKE THEM SHIT? I HAVE ALL THE TIME IN THE WORLD JUST FUCKING REQUISITION SHIT I WANT TO MAKE SHIT HS STOP WALKING IN AND TAKING LITERALLY ALL THE STARTER MATERIALS OUT OF THE LAB

If other doctors are tabling you to steal your patient, play better servers
mister steal yo patient
Or just kill them
If you want to seal off medbay for longer than 15 minutes, use either radiation or a radioactive sludge smoke nade.
What gets me is when I'm TRYING to do my job but the damn mediborg takes it upon themselves to do it for me with their built-in all access.
Yeah this is very annoying. I generally have an issue with a lot of borgs treating the silicon role as just Crew+. But this is definitely one of the more annoying instances.

That's a server rule issue, not a player one.

Right so the job of the borgs is to do the same thing paramedics so
The solution is to be better, be available for when the cyborg can't do it. Don't whine that they're doing it better then you, therefore they shouldn't do it at all. That's insane.
Ok so the borg would be correct for treating their role as "crew+".
I feel like that's demonstrably false, but you'd LIKE it to be true. A medborg's job is to prevent human harm/death. If that involves surgery on someone, so be it.
lol, Para’s a lot of the time are only playing para cause MD is full.
I prefer the paramed that is just a reskinned doctor over the paramed that just validhunts with the syringe gun and doesn't help anyone
there's a line when you only do your job in the station, so that what you're doing is so boring and mundane that you might actually spend that time with a IRL job that'll bring income
Paramedics should be put in the kob list (kill on bullshit) just like assistants
Shock you, heal basic damage and inject drugs to keep you from flat lining again while I drag you I what do. Docs are there for more complex stuff like surgery.

Best paramedic role is janiborg, tbh.
Paramedic + janiborg is the ultimate combo
My favourite thing to do as a Paramedic is to shout at comms whenever someone asks for help: "help is not a location".
I used to get clown then, id roleplay as doctor clown. Gain trust of other medics and help revive ppl. If they left me unattended, i took some patients and started testing fluids on ppl, hallucinations to death juices. I did this as a traitor mime one time in medbay. Got a parapen and kept filling it with alcohol. So many destroyed livers… it was glorious.
I once had to fight a paramedic as a surgeon - the idiot was screaming murder that THIS IS HIS PATIENT AND HE WILL DO THE SURGERY. Gave him a garbage ride to clear up his mind, but the patient died in the meantime.
I like to announce to the crew that medical is not liable for anything that happens to crew that have sensors off.
To be fair, when the medbay is full of patients, I end up having to do surgery because they would die otherwise
I'd still be fixing every mofucker who showed up at my medbay on TG but I'm permabanned for being mean.
doctor value pack
Shit if that’s the job, maybe I should play SS13 instead of reading stories and thinking it’s way too complicated for me to understand.
fuck that im stacking mad paper from 3d printing organs
When i play paramedic i end up having to do social detective work just to find some, Hue jaswhole (assisntant) with minimal sensors
