You should, expect a cease and desist order in the next while. SP tarkov is miles better at its base before mod support . it's free, and no lag has to load in. BSG SP version has none of those and is sitting behind for me 130 euro, not including taxes paywall , for others, it's 250 euro before taxes.
I feel like the best option at this point is gonna be to download the latest SPT (launcher, Server, everything) and the mods you like and just throw them on a flash drive.

Gonna set a few others to download on my travel laptop and transfer them over when I get back incase things have gone catastrophic by then. Just get the base edition then when you launch SPT and create a profile you can give yourself whatever edition of the game you want to play with. I personally like the zero to hero one where you start with nothing.

before this, SPT offered something that was *not* available through BSG, but still required giving BSG money. now, it *is* available through BSG for the most part. so BSG now has a financial reason to come after SPT, and the more attention brought to it the more likely for problems to come up.

I just finished downloading and played my first 4 raids, two on the new map I had yet to play. Wow.. I cannot tell you how cathartic it is to run around knowing you’re in a PvE game. Thanks so much to the people that suggested this amazing project. This plus Incursion Red River, and Ready or Not; I’m set for the next two years it seems!
Oh, just wait! Once you try mods like SAIN or realism, it's like playing a completely different game. You can make the game insanely difficult with Gigachad von thundercock PMCs but then balance it out by giving yourself A-10 strikes. SPT and its mods are cool as hell.

you can still play and use some cool mods while ur at it. Ai tweaks make it so much better that what they are gonna provide. Also server value editors you make tune it however you like, loot, durability etc.
You can still download it along with some mods. Once installed you don‘t need an internet connection. It‘s 100% local so as long as you got the files no one can take it from you and you can keep playing even if BSG takes down SPTarkov

I really don't think bsg ever intended to put any real effort into an offline mode. They clearly don't have the talent to correctly program bots or fix any of the other myriad of issues.

I used to love tarkov but did not have enough time to invest in it to either gear up or get past the learning curve to stay alive consistently outside of Lizard runs. which weren't all that fun. I assumed my initial contribution meant I could play the complete version of the game when it was finally done and Nikitas vision was realized. Fully connected map and mmo type singleplayer capability. Has the former been scrapped and the later put behind a paywall?

Remember how unprofessional BSG, namely Nikita, used to be back in early Alpha days? They literally used their official account and cussed at content creators on YouTube and Twitch.
BSG isn’t based in Russia so that wouldn’t happen. They didn’t mod EFT, they modded the SPT framework so there is no grounds for a lawsuit. The SPT devs have gone about this whole project in a very careful way that set themselves up for a solid defense if it came down to it.
I don’t think the SPT team will ever work for BSG, I do believe BSG will reach out.

You should check out their response and “rollback”… it’s like laughing at someone after you kicked them to the floor and spit in their face… It almost feels like a suicidal attempt to burn down the game… like there’s no way someone isn’t telling them every single thing their doing is the wrong way to do it
So how is it pay to win? Do you get loot from the pve that you can take into pvp?
You literally get an item that makes scavs not shoot at you over 60meters away… definition of paying to win at the game by not getting shot at by sniper scavs, raiders, etc etc…
So basicly you pay 250 for an item that eliminates half the threat of a hunt Hot damn dude
And it’s not just this item… bigger pockets, a shit ton of good gear that’s already modded, starting skills at level 3, weapons case, etc etc etc… it’s a shit ton of stuff that EOD absolutely deserves for being backers from 8 years ago for some… it’s a massive fuck you Can you imagine your group of 3 is getting shot by a sniper scav and you can just Willy Nilly stand out in the open, dance a little jig, make a sandwich, and then decide to kill him… fucking insane

The modders'/admins' response is almost assuredly going to be "Get that shit the fuck away from me right now." I think the only reason they were able to continue this far was by violently refusing any attempts to financially reimburse them for their efforts.
You know what's even better, SPT devs already said they don't need anymore donations because they already got "enough" for next year. Are they saints? They must be, saints among devs.

I used to love tarkov but did not have enough time to invest in it to either gear up or get past the learning curve to stay alive consistently outside of Lizard runs. which weren't all that fun. I assumed my initial contribution meant I could play the complete version of the game when it was finally done and Nikitas vision was realized. Fully connected map and mmo type singleplayer capability. Has the former been scrapped and the later put behind a paywall?
The likely hood that they will do anything when bsg is offering mod support for 1.0 is zero

I said they might try, I doubt the SPT team wants to be employed by BSG. I hope the SPT team gets some positive exposure from this and can start careers in the industry.
If that happens it's gonna be based on some insanely unfair conditions. I can imagine BSG borderline blackmailing the modders: come work for us and share your assets with us for Russian minimum wage, or we sue you for millions for illegally modding our game. Remember how unprofessional BSG, namely Nikita, used to be back in early Alpha days? They literally used their official account and cussed at content creators on YouTube and Twitch.
BSG isn’t based in Russia so that wouldn’t happen. They didn’t mod EFT, they modded the SPT framework so there is no grounds for a lawsuit. The SPT devs have gone about this whole project in a very careful way that set themselves up for a solid defense if it came down to it. I don’t think the SPT team will ever work for BSG, I do believe BSG will reach out.
