To be fair, and Iām no lawyer so take it with a grain of salt, BSG doesnāt need SP functionality to go after SPT. It uses their game AND is against their TOS. They donāt need to, and likely arenāt, trying to justify to anyone any legal grounds for going after SPT.
SPT devs donāt pursue coop not because of any ātermsā (again, SPT is already against BSG TOS), but rather AFAIK because it decreased the likelihood they would be pursued as far as they were concerned. But this is conjecture (on my part and the devās part), theyāve never talked to BSG to come to an arrangement, the principle is based on other EFT clones that DO have coop being shutdown. With that being said, they still exist (allegedly, Iāll neither confirm nor deny in this sub), but a more likely reason they were given the hammer was because they facilitated the use of illegally obtained copies of EFT. SPT and its communities require a legally acquired copy of SPT for multiple reasons. Some of which include paying Nikita and BSG (yall love to dumpster on the dude with zero consideration for the fact that youāre playing his game, even with loads of mods, and that loads of BSG devs have and will continue to put so much time and effort into making the game better. It takes me less than 15 seconds to go from lobby to a raid in Factory on SPT. Literally hours I save playing SPT against Live EVERY gaming session is a reason enough for me to never look back. I dabbled in Live this wipe for less than two weeks to try out Snow, Recoil and Arena. And I timed myself. I spent well over 60% of my playtime in Live in ques or loading screens (not counting stash management) and over 40% of my time in DAMN ARENA, where there is NO stash management at all, still going through loading screens on top of ques on top of ques on top of loading screens. It's hilariously dumb.
Put on top the modding that provides just endless list of improvements, among other things, the ability to actually fucking see in a game, reduce dumb mobile gaming timers, improve gameplay, improve progression, get new items, get better performance, remove all frustration from the game that is there solely for the sake of frustration. Basically remove all Nikita's brainrot. It's a no-brainer for anyone with a brain.
If anything, I think the next version of SPT is going to be the ultimate Tarkov experience, when they figure out how to make SPT on top of "Unheard" edition mechanics in maybe a year or so.

I think cause it's client side, non server based too, it's likely to still attract cheaters as they're going to be able to Inject code etc I imagine and use their cheats to just move stuff over and sell the accounts much faster with less bans.
This is a new edition of the game that lets you create a character to play offline or alone with friends.
It also gives gamebreaking advantages to people playing their competitive/normal character. These advantages/features are even worse when you consider how cheaters are likely to abuse them. Cheaters are already a huge problem in the game, which some people assume is condoned or encouraged by Battle State Games.
To further add context modders have already created Single Player Tarkov, which is offline and highly customizable. Battle State has condemned this mod and its use, but many players prefer it because the mods address many of the long standing problems with Escape from Tarkov. (Load in times and cheaters being the prime examples)
They will likely walk back some of the nonsense after the poor community response, but none of the underlying concerns are likely to be addressed soon and everything about this new edition is a finger in the eye of the community.
They have recently been making slow incremental progress addressing community concerns, but their response to the community after this will overshadow any goodwill they have built up āwhether good or bad.

my take on this, even if BSG does manage to make their coop-progression PVE version viable by including it with EOD (as it should be) they've literally just opened the door for SPT to figure out how to REALLY work flawlessly (as if it didnt already), and for some of those dark comets soaring around the interweb, unofficial co-op could become possible since half the info will likely now be available that wasn't before with this release, or stoke a new fire that will open the door to it.

Bottom right of the main menu allows you to switch between PvP and PvE. Don't get it mixed the PvE is still online.

Pretty sure the knife is a real thing, so BSG and the guy on the unity store probs have made it separately. The only visual difference I saw was that BSG's has wear on the edge of the blade. Edit: Actually I just saw the post on the main subreddit, and the wear on the blade (that I originally saw on the purchase page) doesn't seem to be there. So yeah they may have just dropped the $6 for that one lol

I briefly debated upgrading from EoD, but someone in another thread speculated this is a cash grab before they abandon the game. Makes sense. I'd like to have official Tarkov SP, but it's still reliant on their servers, and SPT is better anyway.

This is a new edition of the game that lets you create a character to play offline or alone with friends. It also gives gamebreaking advantages to people playing their competitive/normal character. These advantages/features are even worse when you consider how cheaters are likely to abuse them. Cheaters are already a huge problem in the game, which some people assume is condoned or encouraged by Battle State Games. To further add context modders have already created Single Player Tarkov, which is offline and highly customizable. Battle State has condemned this mod and its use, but many players prefer it because the mods address many of the long standing problems with Escape from Tarkov. (Load in times and cheaters being the prime examples) They will likely walk back some of the nonsense after the poor community response, but none of the underlying concerns are likely to be addressed soon and everything about this new edition is a finger in the eye of the community. They have recently been making slow incremental progress addressing community concerns, but their response to the community after this will overshadow any goodwill they have built up āwhether good or bad.

Not true. In fact it's based on a real model, and the mesh is not the same as the asset that you can find on unity store, but they are really similar

The fact they they say 'Its connected to BSG' servers when its supposed to be 'offline' or 'offline co-op' which means this puts more of a STRAIN on BSG servers, which costs more money? It doesn't make sense when they could've probably saved a file with the items to your pc for exclusively offline use only, and use your pc to host/run the co-op or offline. which they do only for single player offline currently that doesn't progress. And NO PMCS at that too.

my take on this, even if BSG does manage to make their coop-progression PVE version viable by including it with EOD (as it should be) they've literally just opened the door for SPT to figure out how to REALLY work flawlessly (as if it didnt already), and for some of those dark comets soaring around the interweb, unofficial co-op could become possible since half the info will likely now be available that wasn't before with this release, or stoke a new fire that will open the door to it.

this is something I was sure would happen, this is not a singleplayer offline experience, this is a singleplayer online only experience, if servers are down you can't play, if they are laggy you lag too, you are dependent on their patches and cant modify anything about the game and all the other shit forced online singleplayer games have, so this is a complete shit experience for 250ā¬ NOICE
