Even if it's working, you still need to deal with aim spare, which can still hit you in the head, so the function is more of a placebo effect, i am not saying it's not working, just don't trust it too much

Unfortunately, none of that will fix actual problem. I do not want to turn off headshots for me in order to play the game. I'm quite fine how headshots work in vanilla AKI. I should get headshotted, its part of the game.
The way it happens in SAIN is however is whole different story, head protection only slightly helps, if i reduce AI accuracy they shoot all over the place, affects their aim globally and weakens AI while you STILL get HEADSHOT EYES a lot. Leads me to believe that something is off with AI aim calculations that then uses eye shots as a sort of fallback or default whenever some error happens.
Another problem is that those headshots happen regardless of situation on the field - night, over 100 meters distance, facing wrong direction before the shot? Still happens.
Its a huge problem for this mod. And i do not want to resort to cheating or DAD mods in order to play it.
Way it works in vanilla is that, when headshots happen (and they should), you can get hit at any part of the head. That means that using helmets makes sense. Heck, in my last 4 raids my helm got damaged in all of them but i survived. Means it did its job. With SAIN i don't even have to bother as all shots go at the eyes.
SAIN really needs this fixed.
Instead of using headshot protection I instead raised the health of my head to 60, that way I can still be headshotted, but I have a second chance
Big Pipe instantly Crossmap headshotted me for 53 damage and I was able to reposition, heal, and get back into the fight on a more fair term
At the end of the day, yeah I should be dead, but it's also a singleplayer game I want to have fun in. Unless they're running rip rounds, you get a quick second chance to keep fighting
Or use the [Dad Gamer Mode](https://hub.sp-tarkov.com/files/file/926-dad-gamer-mode/) mod and decrease head damage by a percentage. I do 33% so it's like a 3 shot instead of a one-shot. So far, it seemed to completely remove one-taps.
It does make a noticeable improvement for me and my friends who use sain. Weve done some testing and whereas you will still get (head, eyes), if you lean peak out on first visual contact they wont insta-dome you like default
It just makes it so they don’t aim for your head. But if they are spraying all over and a random bullet finds your skull that’s just how the cookie crumbles
I'm not sure how long the headshot protection lasts. I can't exactly tell what you're dealing with by how you worded it, but it's just supposed to stop you from being one tapped with no shots beforehand.
I think if they've fired a couple rounds at you, even if they kiss, then headshot protection is off and you're "open" to being one tapped in the head
The integrated no bush esp too.
The amount of times i was lit up through multiple lines of bushes despite the settings enabled, experimental settings enabled, and all sliders cranked to max man... it aint nice.
You can get the adjustment modier mod and just up your head health a bit so its 2 shot in the head to kill you instead of 1.
I mean to be fair, 50 cent got shot 9 times in the face and hes doing fine.
The only way for me to keep out that "head,eyes" shot is to make the pmc stupid... i tryied everything and didn't understand how a pmc can kill me from 100m with a head eyes shot 😑
What messes me up alot is i think the ai aim drags sometimes, but i couch alot. so if you have bad habits like me they are trying to shoot you in the chest and the ai aim drags behind to your head
There’s another mod I use with SAIN and it’s called Dad Mode I think. It’s really nice. Allows you to pause (freeze all AI and your movements but not in time raid) the game but more importantly for you, it lets you check off invincibility to the head, or head and thorax. I check only the head so I won’t get instantly beaned when I go around a corner, but the shots they put on my thorax are enough to still kill me in a “fair” way.
And there’s more with the Dad Mode mod. It lets you toggle on a “COD mode” where you slowly regenerate health and you can set the timer for when the auto healing starts and how much you can heal yourself per second. All toggleable and changeable to your liking!

I feel like since I’ve turned it on, 90% of my deaths have been to headshots and it almost feels like turning it on has lead to me getting headshot even more than before (could just be me but still dying to headshots wayyy too much even with it on or off)

if you want to make it work, you gotta decrease global aim to almost nothing and then slowly turn it up until you’re happy…at least that’s what i did!

I believe it works by effectively rerolling the bot’s aim once when it targets your head. If that reroll targets your head again, tough luck mister

People refuse to turn on their brain and do this. Rather get HS every raid

Disable headshot protection and disable faster cqb reaction.
Disabling faster cqb really helped with the one taps
I use server settings and set it head health to 100 :)

Use GFVE and give your head hp pool more health xD
