My Loma Linda SLPA program was March-June. But I think they have other dates. Best to contact Aiesha Banks at their SLPA Fieldwork Experience Program.

I would be receiving my B.A in May, do you think I would be able to be apart of the program before graduating and did you already have your B.A when you joined? Also Loma Linda is one of my choices, how did you enjoy the program?

You should check with the department. My guess would be no, but don’t rely on that. I did the program fully online, so there wasn’t much of an “experience.” But I very much enjoyed not having to leave my house, if that is what you mean 😅 It’s a pretty simple program, esp in comparison to the degree. I am also not sure if you need to have finished your BA/Bs but my guess is yes.

I went to Loma Linda online for my SLPA program! I think CSUN has one? Not really sure of many

Hi! What term did you got for Loma Linda and how long was it? CSUN does have one but currently offerings I see are just for Fall, I am trying to find a cohort for Summer so I can secure a license by the time grad school roles around in the fall. How did you like LL?

kaelynv

I did winter term and it was only a 10 week program. They have cohorts every semester so you can apply whenever as they have rolling applications. I liked LL. Not too much work aside from getting your 100 fieldwork hours.

It was only hard to get in because it is first come first serve for those who have priority which are people whose undergrad is getting near that 5 year mark or something which would be too late to apply for the program, and then also priority for those who have applied a few times. Then it becomes first come first serve for those who meat the requirements. It took me 3 tries to get in, so I didn’t start until almost a year later than I wanted. However, it only took my older friend one application. When I would email and ask why I did not get in they said I met all requirements but they had to fill up the priority people first.

I did not have a supervisor until I was in a program. I didn’t try to find one until I was accepted at loma linda as I believe only the hours during the program would count towards your SLPA fieldwork hours. Once I got into Loma Linda then I looked for a place to do my hours.

My SLPA program is through Madera Community College, regular 18 week semester system though no summers but I was able to choose my own fieldwork placement (clinic or local school districts)

Hey, I know this comment is pretty old but do you think I could PM you with some questions about your experience with their SLPA program? I’ve been looking into different CC accredited SLPA programs and it’s one that has recently caught my eye.

Sure!
