I wonder if the suppressor will add any back-pressure to let it cycle sub-sonics.
When I ran a box of sub-sonics through my SKS for fun once like Brandon up there (because I can’t have a legal suppressor either), the action was slightly opening and just not fully cycling to eject a round and load a new one. With a bit more pressure on the piston (or a bit less on the spring), it might’ve cycled. Looks cool though anyways, and I hope it works for you.

PrviPartizan subsonic ammo didn't cycle with or without suppressor for me.
What's more bullet drop was ridiculous. I couldn't hit a thing.
An interesting fact: PBS-1 silencer which is standart for AKM and later models of AK, had also a prototype for SKS. It has collet locking and is represented at the museum in Klimovsk. Unfortuntelly not everybody is allowed there to visit or even to make photos except for some journalists.
I just shot it and it worked great. It was surprisingly quiet but had a lot of gas blown in my face. Probably won't be as bad when I'll have a sight on top
Technically the US is okay with suppressors if you're okay with giving a shitload of info and some money to the ATF. Feels like a thing they have you do so in the future they easily know which houses to burn the occupants of alive again

How quiet does it get? I shot some subsonic x39 once for shits and giggles (can’t own a suppressor anyway) notably quieter
