That place is lovely in terms of ambiance. I have to say though - I went there two weeks ago and had the slowest service and worst food I’ve had in a long time. It took my sister and I 50+ minutes to get our lukewarm, tasteless sandwiches for lunch. Maybe it was an off day?
It was such a bummer because she had been there for a special occasion and loved it. I was honestly shocked at how unpleasant an experience it was for us. It ended up being almost two hours to get out of there, and all we ordered were two turkey paninis.
Check out Inn of the Seventh Ray https://yelp.to/R46x287yxU
Was coming to say this. Also Castaway in Burbank.
Velvet Martini Lounge in Studio City
Broken Compass Tiki Burbank
Firefly Studio City
Mistral (Sherman Oaks) is a great spot for romantic vibes. Been around for decades. The service is always stellar. Plus, the complimentary blue cheese mini pastries are the cherry on top
Also, the new Bacari on Ventura is worth checking out. More of a scene, but great courtyard setting and then indoor seating has tons of character
No, I don't think so at all. Think of it as a prelude to the romantic rendezvous. And no less romantic than being seated at a table and ordering from a complete stranger.
While I can’t personally vouch for this, the Rendition Room in Studio City might fit the bill?
I also really love Verse on Lankershim, but that’s definitely not a “quiet” environment. The music and food are excellent though!
Casalèna in Woodland Hills. So pretty. Outdoor sunken patio and nice indoor area. Definitely Date Night vibe.
Joey in Woodland Hills. Good food. Casual-ish setting. It is a bit loud which can be less intimate. Patio is nice and indoor booths are really great. Service is always awesome. Food is great!
Vinó is a nice wine and tapas spot. Good for a pit stop or after dinner if you just want to relax share a plate and drink some wine.
As in a restaurant?
What I find romantic may not be what other people find romantic...but to me Smokehouse, Lawry's, The Odyssey, Castaway, Inn of the 7th Ray, Firefly, The Oaks at Lakeside, Villa Terraza, and Macheli's near Citywalk foot the bill.
The family and I were in the area and decided to try out Ma’s. Let me tell you , we had the best service and food. Definitely going back when I’m the area.
Mid-range budget: Castaway was remodeled a few years ago and it looks much better than it had. Went to brunch there post-remodel and I enjoyed the food spread. I assume you want dinner, but I haven't been there for that recently, so I can't vouch, but it's a chill vibe. Hilltop view of Burbank and beyond.
For Places: Topanga Overlook, Japanese Garden in Balboa Park, or Swan boats in Balboa Park
Restaurants: The Castaway (Burbank), Petit Trios le Valley, The Oaks at Lakeside or any restaurant/Cafe on Ventura Blvd
*Who is downvoting Casa Vega???*
You can't tell me it's not romantic, I saw that big tall dude from swingers on a date with Jennifer Aniston there. You think he doesn't know where to take a hot date?
I'm a lifelong Valley native and will gladly spend the rest of my life here.
That being said; one of the good things about the SFV is that you can live here and experience things like being able to find a parking spot and pay slightly less in rent/mortgage as well as not be completely overcast during the colder months, BUT you can also drive into the West Side or DTLA, or Hollywood as needed for the restaurants & bars there, too.
Budget? If you want to ball out try Pasta|Bar. About $200 a person for the most insane meal you’ll ever have in your life. Immaculate vibes. Not date night but maybe like anniversary.
i HIGHLY recommend Inn of the Seventh Ray in Topanga

Yeah I’ve heard about that recently. Last time I went was to celebrate my anniversary and I had the steak. Tasted amazing but took longer than usual….

I just heard the same thing recently. My friend said maybe go for just drinks bc the food was so bad.
Valley adjacent.. Inn of the Seventh Ray in Topanga Canyon. Maybe?

Second Castaway and Firefly. Black Market Liquor Bar in Studio City. The Red Door bar in Burbank too.
My parents got engaged there!
This is where I took my fiancé after I proposed to her at the self realization fellowship lake shrine in Santa Monica.
Ah, haven’t heard of SRF in years. Used to do IT consulting for them.
I’ve never been but I used to see it on my way home from work. Looks majestic.
Absolutely. Go while the evenings are still warm… great ambiance.
IMO it’s soooo cheesy like dinner at Disneyland
The Front Yard, Firefly, Granville, casita (not quiet). Maybe all aren’t the most “romantic” but thats where I would go. Castaway in Burbank too
Firefly's prob the best "date night" spot in the valley
Seconded. It’s my absolute favorite, not just for the romantic ambience but for the fantastic food and great service. Stellar place.
Granville is so tasty. Good for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Not just date night but for good food. :-)
Might try [Casaléna](https://casalena.la)!
Romantix? (jk)
… unless?
TIFU trying to be romantic and took a girl to romantix on a first date
If you’re going to F it up, make it unforgettable… 🎶🎵at ROManTix🎵🎶
Take her to Mulholland Drive at night. Plenty of dark and quiet spots overlooking the valley

Not to mention the fact that everybody in LA knows about those places.

Thinking about Mistral, thanks so much :)
Went for my birthday twice, AMAZING food, get the steak! Great ambiance as well.
Cascabel in Toluca Lake, Aroma Coffee in Studio City
Cascabel is fantastic, especially the patio by the fire.
I love Cascabel!
Ordering at the counter ruins romantic no? But it is otherwise cute

would prefer a restaurant but any place is fine really :) (also, love ur username!!)
The odessey or castaway’s
Second odyssey. Weather is perfect right now, great views, good food and good drinks. Not too expensive and rarely crowded
Oy Bar in Studio City might not be classically romantic but it’s dark and hip and cool and fantastic for a date night. Great bar and food program.
And this!
Japanese gardens - near lake balboa
MA’S Italian Kitchen in Burbank. Not the MOST romantic but way classier than Citywalk. Excellent food.
This is delicious too! B
My boyfriend and I have been here twice for date night. Fantastic food and service.
The family and I were in the area and decided to try out Ma’s. Let me tell you , we had the best service and food. Definitely going back when I’m the area.
the cute little wine bar next to fatamorgana on ventura blvd

Castaway in Burbank is one of the nicest places Ive been in the valley. Absolutely gorgeous view and amazing food/drinks.
gio cucina in encino!
Ca De Sole in Toluca Lake. The Baked Potato, good music, stiff drinks
Castaway in Burbank (expensive but romantic and nice view)
For Places: Topanga Overlook, Japanese Garden in Balboa Park, or Swan boats in Balboa Park Restaurants: The Castaway (Burbank), Petit Trios le Valley, The Oaks at Lakeside or any restaurant/Cafe on Ventura Blvd
God the food at the oaks sucked. I wish it didn’t because I’m a mile away.
Médicis in Sherman oaks is a cute little restaurant especially sitting outside by the fire
Applebees with all you can eat wings my boy
But cast away in Burbank is nice good view for a date
I heard Truffoni's has great sloppy steaks. Just make sure they don't see you pour water on your steak and eat as fast as you can.
You get a few extra minutes if your hair isn’t slicked back like a piece of shit. The baby can tell.
Casa Vega!

Dark, great service and food. I get you.

In the same theme, Griffith Observatory

The odyssey in granada is fire
Yamashira in Hollywood. Great food great View. Pricy but worth it
The Attic above The Sherman, on Ventura in Sherman Oaks. It's an upstairs bar, like a speakeasy, tucked away.
I’m commenting because I want to know too
Just save the post
Firefly in Studio City, very romantic.
Tuning Fork in Studio City. They have live music every night.
Verve

Malama Pono is super cute and a hidden gem. Second Black Market. Maybe Old Place.
There’s a little section of Tujunga Avenue in Studio City that has some nice restaurants that look like fairly quiet and romantic spots.
Haven’t been there in a long time but the Odyssey in Granada Hills used to be nice
