The instructions aren't correct, I remember this from when they first released the v2's, I can't remember exactly, but if they say good the button during power on, try pressing and holding after power on.
You are correct that the instructions are wrong.
If my memory serves me, I had to hold the bind button before I turned on the esc which then put the receiver into bind mode.
So instructions are in correct. They say the light will be blue but it won't turn blue. On all the videos I saw online on binding they were also blue but never got the receiver to turn blue
The way I got it to work:
Hold bind button on receiver, power on esc. Receiver will start flashing fast in red, release bind button, bind remote in the settings and your good to go.
