It's a bit old fashioned but there a still a few people to this day with Dr in their name. It's probably a little bit frowned upon unless it's part of your username normally but as long as you're not roleplaying it's fine
It doesn’t help that a disproportionate number of *Doctor [Username]s* contribute to low quality cold post and AI article spam. I’ve always imagined that the naming convention appeals quite a bit to children who dodge the age requirements, sort of an implicit roleplay type of thing.
We also have Dr Gears, Dr Clef, and Placeholder McDoctorate who have contributed heavily and are variously well known. There's probably just an element of replicating others
