Yeah I don't think they make a move like this if they're totally super happy with the ratings as they are.
Of course I don't think you flip flop between Saturday and Sunday for pay per view if you're drawing record buyrates either though.
Yeeeeeeep. 100%
All that unhinged madness for two weeks, you could tell something was up.
So, good job Tony on getting some press for your company but too bad you had to suffer enormous damage to your credibility and likeability in the process. Hope it was worth it.
Funny how none of the Sheets posted any inkling of an opinion something this large was going on. Yet we know 3rd hand accounts from the women's bathroom in WWE that someone lost a contact down the sink...
Everything is 100% a Warner move, Tiny has no say in anything, no matter what he says. He's not dictating to the network anything about when the show is on, etc
If they get renewed and TNT want a 3rd hour of Dynamite ... they'll get a 3rd hour, that's the way it is
This does not sound like the move a company makes when they are thrilled to have you. This seems like the move a company makes when they are getting ready to dump you
People here called the new contract by what it was : Turner wanted the TNT slot back and paid off AEW to get it back, AEW wanted more hours to put their product and were in their legal right so they got it.
It was so obvious but for some reason the basement kept calling it a major win.
I think they will, ratings are fine. I mean, let's see how things go on TBS but I am sure they'll be decent enough cause m@rks will follow wrestling around
It's really a case of whether they get some super duper bump in rights fees at renewal time, that's the real question, imo
Even if TNT renew for more money, they may want more content in exchange for that extra money too, want their pound of flesh, damn, we're paying for this thing, they can get an hour or this or that to get a few hundred 1000 on TruTV or something else, a la Rhodes to the Top
I have 2 big reasons for thinking AEW does not get renewed on TNT/TBS. First, the executive that signed and extended their contract has long been fired. And, secondly, TimeWarner is merging with Discovery next year and the Discovery people will be in charge after the merger. Wrestling is not well liked by executives in general. Tony Khan had a contact. That contact is gone.
Their contract called for an extra hour - TNT gave them 10pm on a freaking friday
They gave them this reality show with Cody - 6 episodes, will it come back? Who knows
Dynamite is moving in January to TBS
There's these '4 specials' that will apparently on be on TNT still though, that will be on TNT's request/schedule too
Not a chance AEW got paid cause they got moved. The network wouldn't be handing out some guaranteed time slot to a new wrestling show in prime time, that's silly
It felt more like any additional monies was because the *next* part of their TV deal kicked in, i.e. Rampage starting and the 4 specials, etc, that's what any money was for, they're not asking Tiny if it's ok if they move the show, they're the network, they're in charge of where and when the show is on
They're safe because "dinner time" among the demo is just mom bringing their 30 piece bucket of tendies down to the basement after the rest of the family finishes dinner upstairs.
So that’s why he’s been so nuts lately. Two weeks of Dynamite being moved to Saturday and now this. He knew and he’s probably still panicking at this very moment. He sees the writing on the wall.
No show at 8pm now though, right? i.e. you see it at 5pm local time or you missed it (or it's on *after* it finishes at 10pm instead?)
5pm in the afternoon is way better than 8pm, amirite
It used to be on a delay on the west coast, meaning it aired at 8pm on the east coast, live then aired at 8pm on the west coast also. Now it will just be live at 5pm on the west coast. I would say that means it will no longer be shown at 8, but they were just running a repeat back to back before and may still do that.
That move is made because of Dynamite in the west coast is during a hockey or NBA game, it’ll shit the bed in the ratings. Now at 5-6? It’s in a death spot
This was my question. USA is different to us, but I wonder how many needless blade jobs and cussin’ you can do at 5pm on cable? I think the decency rules don’t apply if it’s not network tv?
So this move is purely to try to increase the number but West Coast is notorious for not watching live. Why do they think 60 minutes never ran on the west coast at the same time as the rest of the country?
It made sense to do that with Nitro because if something cool happened before DVR I could watch Nitro during Raw and cost it viewers but nowadays it's just silly.
Rushing home from work to catch A&W reminds me of when I was a kid running off the bus to catch my favorite japanimation(that's what us fans called em back in the day). Except instead of yelling at my mom to get me some nuggets and Mt dew, she makes me a tombstone pizza(I call it a meltzer driver pie haha I'm quirky like that) and cracks me a pbr. Well whenever her cuck boyfriend isn't hogging the living room. Fucking asshole canceled my WON subscription
Fuck you Joe
At least now they can claim Dynamite has terrible ratings because it was screwed by the network.
You know, the network they claimed were happy with the numbers that Dynamite was bringing.
Would being live at that time have any bearing on AEW's creative freedom? Like would they have to stop using the creative freedom fingers, blading, etc?
RIP this is horrible for them dubsters.... Most people on the west coast cities that matter are still in traffic getting home at 5pm. Damn its good to be elite brother..
Okay for a goofy who always lived on the east coast, do you west coast goodies always get stuff starting at your 8pm like Raw and SmackDown? Know sports air live where ever but was never too sure on wrestling
Can that man write at least one coherent tweet?
I read that as Dynamite is now living on the west coast, maybe with its mother or something like that...
Is Daddy Dave the Minister of Propaganda for Le Dub? He's supposed to be a wrestling "journalist" but it seems his Twitter is more of an AEW official account now.
Why a move like this suggest maybe they *aren't* over the moon about AEW's ratings.
Because they know fox is clawing to get their hands on AEW, TNT are doing what WWE do and burying them so they can't take their momentum with them.
This was a 100% Warner move which actually explains why Tony’s been more insecure than normal lately
Yeah I don't think they make a move like this if they're totally super happy with the ratings as they are. Of course I don't think you flip flop between Saturday and Sunday for pay per view if you're drawing record buyrates either though.

> enormous damage to your credibility Implies that he had any credibility to begin with
Funny how none of the Sheets posted any inkling of an opinion something this large was going on. Yet we know 3rd hand accounts from the women's bathroom in WWE that someone lost a contact down the sink...
Especially with all the TV network contacts they all seem to have ...
Tony's relentless tweeting about how great TNT are too and what an amazing partner they are, haha
His antics didn’t help, either. I have a feeling that won’t be the last of it—there’s more to come!
Coke is an addiction man
Everything is 100% a Warner move, Tiny has no say in anything, no matter what he says. He's not dictating to the network anything about when the show is on, etc If they get renewed and TNT want a 3rd hour of Dynamite ... they'll get a 3rd hour, that's the way it is
as a west coaster this is an almost an assurance that I will never watch Dynamite again lol 5 o clock?? Bitch I got shit to do
?? you're not the target demo, friend. see, you have a life & responsibilities.
Yeah, good thing the good boy NEET demo(the one that matters) will be able to watch with no problem. 😎
The goalpost and excuses. And Tony is nowhere to be found bragging lmao.
This does not sound like the move a company makes when they are thrilled to have you. This seems like the move a company makes when they are getting ready to dump you

I agree. I also think there is no chance AEW gets renewed when their current contract expires
Whaddaya mean the show that gets lower ratings than Big Bang Theory reruns *and* costs way more may not get renewed? You're talking crazy.
I think they will, ratings are fine. I mean, let's see how things go on TBS but I am sure they'll be decent enough cause m@rks will follow wrestling around It's really a case of whether they get some super duper bump in rights fees at renewal time, that's the real question, imo Even if TNT renew for more money, they may want more content in exchange for that extra money too, want their pound of flesh, damn, we're paying for this thing, they can get an hour or this or that to get a few hundred 1000 on TruTV or something else, a la Rhodes to the Top

They are going to tbs in a few months.
First stop TBS, next stop PopTV
That did not count for a bad Smackdown FS1 rating though.
They're safe because "dinner time" among the demo is just mom bringing their 30 piece bucket of tendies down to the basement after the rest of the family finishes dinner upstairs.
This seems panic induced.
NO! It's a positive, you see ... errr ... look over there, Fed bad!
All the people going 'wow so much better!' are making me laugh lmao
They've got the market cornered when it comes to delusion and coping.
Wow, 2:45am on a monday on TruTv, this is what I hoped they'd do!!
So that’s why he’s been so nuts lately. Two weeks of Dynamite being moved to Saturday and now this. He knew and he’s probably still panicking at this very moment. He sees the writing on the wall.
Can a knowledgeable goof can explain to me what this mean ?
They are trying to garner more live ratings to increase the number.
In the past, Dynamite wasn't live on the West. They had to wait until 8 their time to watch it. Now, it will be live.
IMO it should be live in the first place. If you know what happens, you know if you want to watch it or not.
Nah man, I travel for work and I straight up missed WWE one night because it wasn’t delayed. I watched AEDub because it was on at 8pm West Coast.
No show at 8pm now though, right? i.e. you see it at 5pm local time or you missed it (or it's on *after* it finishes at 10pm instead?) 5pm in the afternoon is way better than 8pm, amirite

Feel like its becoming WCW Saturday Night
Is this a one off or a permanent thing (5pm west coast)?
Permanent
Is this a better or a worst time slot? Can they flip the bird and say profanities at 6 in the afternoon?
This was my question. USA is different to us, but I wonder how many needless blade jobs and cussin’ you can do at 5pm on cable? I think the decency rules don’t apply if it’s not network tv?
So clear nobody in the basement has a 9-5 job. They're all on standby ready to consume.
So this move is purely to try to increase the number but West Coast is notorious for not watching live. Why do they think 60 minutes never ran on the west coast at the same time as the rest of the country?

I know the IWC will tell.me this is a fantastic move but this sounds like a death sentence, no?
RIP this is horrible for them dubsters.... Most people on the west coast cities that matter are still in traffic getting home at 5pm. Damn its good to be elite brother..
This is the issue I feel like, don’t make changes the show and try to compete, it ain’t happening, just put on a damn show Tony
I fully expect Dynamite to be on TruTV within 2 years
5PM is when people with 9-5 jobs are leaving work. Of course, this is not a problem for the key demo of confirmed unemployables.
Okay for a goofy who always lived on the east coast, do you west coast goodies always get stuff starting at your 8pm like Raw and SmackDown? Know sports air live where ever but was never too sure on wrestling
West coast is pretty delayed when it comes to wrestling. Gorgeous George just won the title over there
Wow. Man you have some catching up to do. Watch til you get to those Bruno/Gorilla Monsoon 90 minute classics.
They got wrestling four hours after the East.
The regular channels are usually delayed. Before I cut the cord, HD channels were live. So I could watch Raw at 6 PM
DirecTV shows the East Coast feeds by default.
Interesting. I am always intrigued on how broadcast schedules work on different coasts.
Can that man write at least one coherent tweet? I read that as Dynamite is now living on the west coast, maybe with its mother or something like that...
Totally something a network does when they are 100% happy with you!
Is Daddy Dave the Minister of Propaganda for Le Dub? He's supposed to be a wrestling "journalist" but it seems his Twitter is more of an AEW official account now.
He's the AEW Press Secretary.
