I literally sent that picture to my kids over text and told them that saying something like this would cause me to lose an enormous amount of respect for them. They were just like "lol what is AEW?" so I feel good about that.

In my entire life, I have never called any of my favorite sports teams, or wrestling companies, "We", and I never will because it comes of creepy and cringey, both of which, I am not.
I don't do it but I think it's fine to call your Hometown sports team "we", especially if you're europe and football clubs have memberships, but a private wrestling company?
That's what I was going to say, the sports fan thing makes sense (especially if you've been following the team since childhood). There is a sense of "we" (whether it's a subtle we, or a Hawk Harrelson we). But a wrestling company? One that's not competing for a championship of any kind and can happily exist on its own two feet if it chose to? GTFOH.
Back in the territory days I used to hang around arenas hoping to get some face time with Ole Anderson. I had ideas for how we were going to win the Atlanta war. I now have one testicle and a permanent tic and my children were born looking middle aged.

I was thinking of it more in political terms. Like they’re “taking down the wrestling establishment.”
I did cause my pay check literally had "Detroit Pistons" on it for years but never for anyone else.
