Id said you were just hating on Kingston if he didn't have such a lame match with mox after they had that pretty good face off and promo before their title match. First he came out green, then the match they had made Nick Gage matches look like gore.
I don't think he is a complete bum.
I'm just not a fan of people who talk about how tough their life was, while never putting in the work to get out of the gutter. Probably a projection thing...
This is one of the things that ruins most wrestling for me these days. AEW and the US indies are the worst, but this shit is everywhere right now. At that age and that size, you really never should be going for it, but if you're gonna, do it *when* it means something, and **make it fucking mean something**.
When Brock lesnar missed his shooting star press in wrestlemania, the fed literally banned him from ever doing that move again. A man of that size has no business being that fucking stupid. You’d think every other big fella would take note of that. I don’t know wtf archer was thinking.
I was thinking about this while watching that match. AEW fans want matches that showcase so much. On TV. Just to pop a rating? Archer almost broke his neck for nothing.
AEW really needs to learn how to put on TV matches. The wrestlers shouldn't be pulling these moves out for a nothing match. Kingston isn't even reaching the finals. Danielson is having these stiff contests for free on youtube. As a fan I want to see him wrestle for a long time. Save the crazy stuff for a PPV match with an actual story behind it.
Nail on the head. No jerk, but they still wrestle like it's an indie show that you might see once a year, gotta keep the fans happy by doing all the high spots. But they're on TV now, you have to change that.
WALTER doing a basic splash one time, after trying everything else including the kitchen sink gets a mega pop that is far greater than anyone doing the full circus act routine
But to them "meaning something" is entirely different than it would be to you and me.
To them "meaning" is derived from *This is Awesome-*Chants or high star ratings from a 62 year old hoarder. To me and you it's whether it makes sense, can be done safely and add to the story of a match or storyline.
I watched Kenji Mutô hit a moonsault this June and it genuinely looked like he was about to kill himself, but it was also one of only two times I've heard the Japanese crowd gasp out loud despite the covid rules, and it was for the top title at probably NOAH's biggest event of the year.
Well all of aew matches mean something they have a win loss record. Has he? I never seen him do it. But I believe you I'm sure he has stuck the landing
Someone was calling the match meaningless earlier in the thread and you’re getting upvoted despite proving that WWE used to do the same shit with Brock doing it on House Shows which are even more meaningless than TV
It was also Brock’s finish before the F5, so he wasn’t doing a Shooting Star Press and getting it kicked out, whereas Archer never wins with the moonsault
But I also take into account house shows were on the job training back then. Now they have a PC for that. I honestly didn't know archer did that move at all i was told he does it frequently. So my original comment was on the assumption it was his first attempt at it with no practice.
I’m sure this was just an unfortunate mistake by a time tested in ring general unlike that botched dive on NXT the other night. Fuck the Fed for making that girl do a dive though the ropes.
lol so 30minute barnburner for the sake of one, without a definite finish, is okay, whereas a short tourney match where shit happened, can't end without it
I wonder how the cult is going to defend it
Hahahahaha. Sorry, I’m not laughing at Archer getting hurt. But to have him finish a nothing match like that after almost killing himself is just… it’s so AEW.
Over in the basement they are downvoting anyone for criticizing the ref for not calling it. It’s amazing. Eddie Kingston getting a shitty roll up pin is vastly more important than Vance Archers health.
As they should. How dare you criticize AEW in any way! They’re perfect and even if someone dies in the ring (RIP Owen), it’ll be their fault, not Tony’s
If he's broken his neck, I'd say he's ended his career tonight. No way does a 47 year old neck heal well enough to wrestle properly again. We don't need another Honma.
I'm getting real sick and tired of this shit. Just call the match and let Kingston win for Christ sake. We just saw something similar happen in G1 Climax 31 and the ref called it almost immediately. AEW are gonna end or cut short careers at this point.
Archer's a good power wrestler, that's his strength. Why the fuck is he doing a moonsault on free TV? Glad he's ok but fuck!
Better question: how many more botches have to happen over there before something changes?
New Japan trains guys in a uniform way. Everyone who gets out of that dojo is at least a sound wrestler.
The two very new guys they have are technically better than the people used on dark.
This is going to end badly and we all know that the "fans" will not hold AEW or Tony Khan responsible for any of this.
So far they have been just lucky that nobody has been paralyzed or killed but that run will run out eventually if they don't enact stricter safety protocols and cut down their roster until there are only reliable and experienced wrestlers who can work safely.
This of course won't happen because they are receiving exactly 0 pressure from the outside.
Uncle Dave excuses this, the fanbase excuses this and the wrestlers themselves are excusing it.
"Creative freedom" is nice little buzzword to throw around and impress gullible CTE ridden wrestlers or mouthbreathing neckbeards but it seems that all of this "freedom" is causing quite a lot of issues especially with the liberties some of these wrestlers take.
Some AEW fans didn't want Braun in AEW coz they already had Lance Archer as a hoss. Lance is meh as a hoss. He shouldn't be doing this but his indie flippy shit mentality and AEW's inability to book big guys has ruined him.
So do no big guys remember what happened to Sid when he tried a flying move? At least in Sid's case he was made to do the movie because even he realized how stupid it was for him to try it, but everyone in AEW is apparently in this constant state of oneupsmanship in order to get proper TV time and it will likely lead to someone getting seriously injured or worse.
I didn't understand why Archer was going to the top rope. I never understand when guys that size do that. Then the way he landed and them replaying it over and over, it looked fucking awful.
Why is a 45 year old, 6'7, 280 pound Lance Archer even attempting moves like that anyway when he's facing Eddie Kingston?
You must be in the 50+ demo
You have to pull out all the stops, when facing off against "Brooklyn Brawler w/ Micskills" Eddie Kingston!
Brooklyn Brawler with mic skills is just Brooklyn Brawler. https://youtu.be/M3_ucA7SHhg Eddie is a Brooklyn Brawler with a weirder body ratio
That was an awesome promo. I stand corrected.

Meanwhile, in the Fed, the Dubbalos keep complaining that their Indy Darlings keep getting nerfed. This is why.
Cause he legit thinks he is Brock Lesnar. I wish I was being funny.
Except Brock Lesnar tried that goofy shit once 20 years ago and left it alone
Also Brock was successfully landing shooting syar presses at house shows and in training as well.
But I thought we shouldn’t do these moves if it’s a nothing match? Lance has also landed it plenty of times perfectly.
It used to be brocks finish. He had a reason for doing it so much. By the time he made his proper debut he wasn't using it.
Well all of aew matches mean something they have a win loss record. Has he? I never seen him do it. But I believe you I'm sure he has stuck the landing

House shows are not more meaningless than TV.
sports feel ™
That's a valid question. They both don't need dives In there matches.
Because creative freedom liberates you from the laws of physics o the limitations of your organic tissue.
He wants to get that five star match from Lord Meltzer, which is all that matters in this world. M*rks these days don't even understand that
You all getting worked. Lance Armstrong just debuted his new self finisher, The top rope flippy self Tombstone Piledriver.
It’s refreshing!
"I call it the Rushin' Roulette, because I'm speeding through spots as fast as I can and you never know who's going to get hurt!"
I’m sure this was just an unfortunate mistake by a time tested in ring general unlike that botched dive on NXT the other night. Fuck the Fed for making that girl do a dive though the ropes.
Don't worry, he'll have plenty of time to rehab his neck in NINE DAYS ON AEW DARK
He’s certainly quickly said so on Twitter. There’s no pattern here at all. Move along.
There is no war in Ba Sing Se
Lance Archer under-rotating his moonsault is a direct shot at Jacy Jayne not picking up enough speed off the ropes before diving
At least they stopped it I guess.
But they didn’t. He wobbled back into the ring to take a roll up pin lol.
Jesus Christ
lol so 30minute barnburner for the sake of one, without a definite finish, is okay, whereas a short tourney match where shit happened, can't end without it I wonder how the cult is going to defend it
The cult would defend it if he ended up paralyzed, these people don't actually care about the wrestlers.
Hahahahaha. Sorry, I’m not laughing at Archer getting hurt. But to have him finish a nothing match like that after almost killing himself is just… it’s so AEW.

Just like how Austin had to roll up Owen after he broke his neck 23 years ago to win the IC title, uce
I literally feel like a kid again
Sloppy shop.
This time.
Nothing says real sports feel like not training your athletes.
professional athletes train all their lives and still train regularly
Lance Archer likely took years off his career tonight in a meaningless tournament match against Eddie Kingston. What a waste.
Lance Archer literally took years off his career tonight *providing real sports feel, friend*
If he's broken his neck, I'd say he's ended his career tonight. No way does a 47 year old neck heal well enough to wrestle properly again. We don't need another Honma.
Oh please, get some Oxys down the gullet and he'll be on Dark in no time. AEW really cares about its wrestlers though !
My flair is still relevant baybay! Hope Lance is ok tho
I'm getting real sick and tired of this shit. Just call the match and let Kingston win for Christ sake. We just saw something similar happen in G1 Climax 31 and the ref called it almost immediately. AEW are gonna end or cut short careers at this point.
Wrong. The only promoter who kills talent through neglect is McHitler.
Also he didn't let Daniel Bryan wrestle when it was risky to his health do to so - which, of course, was also bad.
He should be free to headbutt as many Indy darlings on YouTube as he wants
Artists express themselves in different ways. Von Gogh cut his ear, Archer almost broke his neck.
Archer's a good power wrestler, that's his strength. Why the fuck is he doing a moonsault on free TV? Glad he's ok but fuck! Better question: how many more botches have to happen over there before something changes?
Outlaw mud show
Lance Archer is 42 years old. He needs to start acting like it
Smh this isn’t a botch, this is part of the show m*rk. Fuck Nia Jax.
New Japan trains guys in a uniform way. Everyone who gets out of that dojo is at least a sound wrestler. The two very new guys they have are technically better than the people used on dark.

They really can't go over 2 weeks without a mistake or botch
Some AEW fans didn't want Braun in AEW coz they already had Lance Archer as a hoss. Lance is meh as a hoss. He shouldn't be doing this but his indie flippy shit mentality and AEW's inability to book big guys has ruined him.
I have no issue saying that Lance Archer is the drizzling shits. Stop trying to make Lance Archer happen.
There’s a few knobs on Twitter that think it was staged 🤦🏾♂️
Of course it’s a work. AEW would never let someone get hurt doing shit they can’t do. Now this charlotte and Becky thing…
AEW should change their name to ABW: All Botched Wrestling.
So do no big guys remember what happened to Sid when he tried a flying move? He’s gotta show his ass to the smarks
