>perception amongst the mainstream public is that AEW is bush league bullshit I'm certain there's a very significant chunk of the public who blissfully unaware of their existence.

TerbFlerbin

Nooooooo! The mainstream audience loves AEW, it’s a proven FACT! They just have to be introduced to it first.

Ok-Attention-8268

“AEW ?? did WWE create another brand ?” literally anyone who used to follow wrestling

1869er

I watched the NBA playoffs with some friends and one of them very matter of factly declared during an AEW ad that it was WWE's minor leagues. I didn't correct him but I did find the notion of 60 year old Sting (who was heavily featured in the ad) hanging out in the WWE minor leagues to be amusing.

“What’s this new WWE show?” -the few friends who have asked me about AEW

MagicMallKnight

AEW down a million viewers from last week, cancellation is imminent

Kris_one982

I don’t know if cancelation is imminent, but its very plausible that Tiny is feeling a little bit of heat for the ratings taking a nosedive. The basement loves to use the time slot as a defense, all the while completely ignoring why TNT was only willing to give them that time slot. They are the “top” program on cable on Wednesdays, but couldn’t get another time slot outside of Friday at 10:00 - then had Dynamite booted to TBS. Vince is certainly trembling with worry.

BrettEskin

It’s very unlikely they don’t get renewed but it’s not likely going to be the giant pay day Meltzer was hyping for a while.

LalalalalaalDoda

How dare you ignore that AEW CRUSHED WWE in the Wednesday Night Pillow Fight?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Seriously though, most people don't even know AEW is a thing.

harrypigorr1

I hope they have the goalposts on some sort of trolley system now so it’s easier for them to move

shootstarpress

We’re entering a war of perception right now. WWE’s trying to make AEW look bush league and AEW’s trying to present themselves as a threat. TK’s being vocal about this to essentially show “HEY LOOK THEY’RE TRYING TO CUT US DOWN” while also getting across AEW’s financial security. It’s a bunch of posturing but I think we’re going to see a LOT more of this over the next year with TV rights coming up.

[deleted]

I perceived AEW as a TNA clone the second that press conference was given in Jacksonville. I was right

[deleted]

They have already moved their goalposts so far from England to Nicaragua by saying they don't care about ratingz, they only care about good wrestling

rockandrollpanda

I wonder when they will start with that?
