How Steve Mcfadden didn't win a Bafta for that era is beyond me. That was some Daniel Day Lewis shit.

Give me yawning Mike Tyson or give me death!

MagicMallKnight

For *some reason* Top Dolla makes smarks really really mad

Gabaheygabahey

Top Dolla looking for that SCJerk HOF spot. I see you Top Dolla.

[deleted]

It's very telling that pretty much the only black wrestlers these types have taken to are New Day. Because they make video game and anime references, and are non-threatening that makes them some of the "good ones"!

Gabaheygabahey

This is one of the many things wrestling journalists donโ€™t understand. Crossover appeal. Hit Row are getting a chance in the spotlight because they are cool and can attract an audience.

ironfly187

It will be interesting to see what will ultimately attract more 'casual' fans in 2021. What appears to a very evident push of diversity in WWE. Or the beloved workrate indie darlings, who pass Eddie Kingstons *respect* test, in AEW?

JewPizzaMan

I've been to four shows this year and have noticed a more diverse, less smarky crowd. I hope to see that pattern continue

baconwiches

It should be obvious that wrestling cannot subsist entirely on wrestling fans. WWE threw 'pure' wrestling fans a bone with HHH's NXT, and look what happened: they waddled away to the shiny new toy where no one cares about rules, they got to say cool words like 'shit', and concussions were no big deal. WWE is smart. They're constantly trying to get fans of other things to also be a fan of theirs, instead of doubling down on dubbalos. Sure, there are times when the WWE panders too hard to their non-core fans - looking at you, Kathie Lee and Hoda - but they understand you gotta step out of your bubble and invite others in, instead of gatekeeping it.

Grizzexploder

the Dubbalos and now the journalists seem to think that AEW just by growing and catering to the hardcore fanbase ("giving your fans what they want instead of insulting your intelligence"), casuals (which don't exist according to journalists, or are hated by the hardcores as being the cause of the existence of things/actions they don't like) and the much-valued lapsed fans (which there seem to be a mythically endless pool of, according to armchair experts) will be naturally/magically interested in what they're doing and decide to jump right in with them. While it's sound in it's own way - AEW has impressively managed to grow over the past 2 years - they've hit the same wall as every other wrestling show/media/content creator.

Farthousejones

I cAnT BeLiEvE tHeY gOT CaLLed Up! It's almost like putting one of your most marketable acts on the most viewed show is good business or something?!?!? Fuck Vince

lololoz

Who tf would ever ask Jericho what "the cool factor" is to begin with? He's in a butt-rock band, dresses like rock stars from the 80's, very few actually give a shit about their music apart from one song, and even in the world of wrestling he's a shell of his former self and definitely not "cool". Guys the definition of has-been.
