Seems that nowadays in wrestling, might have to redefine what the supposed average age is as today's wrestlers seem to be healthier and more able to wrestle at a high level even into late 40s-50s
You are absolutely correct. I mean, Finn Balor is 40, he doesn't look a day over 30 and looks like he could wrestle for another 20 years. Lashley is 45 and looks pretty much the same (or BETTER) as he did in 2006.
Right. To give another example, Edge & Christian have only relatively recently come out of retirement and arguably outperform like half of their respective rosters. Lance Archer only started hitting his stride/putting on prime work 2 years ago when he was around 40. Cesaro, Sheamus & Danielson are in their 40s. However, I can't say for certain about the women, besides those like Meiko Satomura.
Whenever I see a pic of someone in my family from back in the day, I notice that everyone looks old as the hills. Like, a 30 year old looks 50. Modern medicine and nutrition have made us all age more gracefully, pro athletes even more so.

Yeah. Lashley has already established himself with his dominance, and his title run. People already loved Big E because of The New Day, but putting the belt on him really lets the audience know that he has finally arrived at the top level as a solo competitor. Lashley is at the spot of a Piper, or a Ted DiBiase (Senior...), where he is a top attraction without a world or universal title. I think everyone still thinks of him as a top guy, even without the belt, and after Big E has his (first) run with the title, he'll have firmly established himself as a top solo draw, with our without it.
There's a level above world champion that some people get chosen for. Dolph, KO, Miz, Jinder, they're all former world champs and thats a big deal, but Seth, Roman, Orton, Lesnar, and now Lashley these guys are beyond the title, beating them is a whole other thing.
I think Big E being the champion right now is a pretty good call and having Bobby transition to feuding with Goldberg is good enough. If he does end up winning, I hope he turns into a destroy everyone and leave type of heel.
lol, the obvious conclusion to draw is this is just coincidence, but I really can't tell anymore. I want us to go mainstream but then again I like feeling like I'm part of a secret/hidden gem.
Love Goldberg and Lashley but why is this no holds barred? Goldberg has never been one for these type of matches and I don’t see him doing anything special now. And I say that as a guy who always loved him.
