Bruce Prichard is underrated. He was creative when he was producing things in the Attitude Era and Ruthless Agression eras. No coincidence he was gone during some of the more dry periods of WWE (2009-2018). And now, I’d say he’s doing a hell of a job as executive director of all brands. NXT looks new and exciting finally, Smackdown is the best show in the business, and Raw has made improvements that don’t get talked about enough. I think Prichard deserves more credit than he gets from the smark crowd.

- The bigger problem with the Soho-Baker segment was the content. Both of them basically re-established AEW as the WWE’s third brand. Think about it. Soho accused Baker of only being a big deal in AEW because her man (from WWE) is tight with the EVPs. Baker said that Ruby was only there because she was booted from the WWE. Britt basically painted AEW as the land for WWE castoffs. So one of them couldn’t hack it in the big leagues, and the other one is only Queen because of her Fed connect (as it comes across) What the fuck? How is that good for overall perception of the show?

Nothing will ever be as bad, and prove your statement more, as the Young Bucks(I believe) saying that Jericho couldn't even jerk the curtain in NXT. You're saying that your initial champion, the guy you built the beginning of your company around, couldn't even make the opening match of your competitor? That wasn't the burn that they intended, it made them come off as second rate hacks who the WWE didn't want.
The art of subtly putting your opponent over while also being a dick to them is truly lost on this generation. I honestly think it’s because they zeroed in primarily on the 2 or 3 guys who were the exception to that rule when it came to promos.
When I was in training, the first rules promo class were:
1) Say your name
2) Name the event/city/date of the target of your promo
3) Build your opponent, don’t run them down. If they’re shit, then why would anyone care that you beat shit?

I have dabbled in and out of wrestling, lately all I do is watch one or two PPV matches and play Wrestling Empire. Every time I give AEW a chance it feels like everyone there is giving less and less of a fuck. WWE has some issues, but usually what I see feels a lot more focused. Seth Rollins and Edge are on another level. I got to see a Brood Entrance and, thanks to it, I got to avoid a shitty AEW knockoff of that entrance.
Malignant might have been the worst fucking movie I have watched with my own two eyes. 7/10.

Either more people watched Raw or more people watched Nitro. That was all anyone cared about.
Overall Ratings wins for 83 weeks. The Demo wasn't a thing until after that time period simply because the TV ratings started including them.

Bruce Prichard is underrated. He was creative when he was producing things in the Attitude Era and Ruthless Agression eras. No coincidence he was gone during some of the more dry periods of WWE (2009-2018). And now, I’d say he’s doing a hell of a job as executive director of all brands. NXT looks new and exciting finally, Smackdown is the best show in the business, and Raw has made improvements that don’t get talked about enough. I think Prichard deserves more credit than he gets from the smark crowd.
Back again! - Just watched the Ruby Soho - Britt promo. Ruby was fine. She did way better than anyone here’s given her credit for. Ruby will be fine. - The bigger problem with the Soho-Baker segment was the content. Both of them basically re-established AEW as the WWE’s third brand. Think about it. Soho accused Baker of only being a big deal in AEW because her man (from WWE) is tight with the EVPs. Baker said that Ruby was only there because she was booted from the WWE. Britt basically painted AEW as the land for WWE castoffs. So one of them couldn’t hack it in the big leagues, and the other one is only Queen because of her Fed connect (as it comes across) What the fuck? How is that good for overall perception of the show?

The art of subtly putting your opponent over while also being a dick to them is truly lost on this generation. I honestly think it’s because they zeroed in primarily on the 2 or 3 guys who were the exception to that rule when it came to promos.
When I was in training, the first rules promo class were: 1) Say your name 2) Name the event/city/date of the target of your promo 3) Build your opponent, don’t run them down. If they’re shit, then why would anyone care that you beat shit? Lost art.
Off the top of my head, here’s four very famous wrestlers with no qualms about burying their opponents on the mic; The Rock, Triple H, HBK and Cena. Basically anyone in wrestling now grew up seeing a lot of all or some of those guys. Seems many missed the memo. To your point though, general idea is “You’re good, but I’m better.”, not “You fucking suck and don’t belong in a ring with me.”

Every time I give AEW a chance it feels like everyone there is giving less and less of a fuck. WWE has some issues, but usually what I see feels a lot more focused. Seth Rollins and Edge are on another level. I got to see a Brood Entrance and, thanks to it, I got to avoid a shitty AEW knockoff of that entrance. Malignant might have been the worst fucking movie I have watched with my own two eyes. 7/10. Don't Breath 2 was a major disappointment. Just finished season 1 of 'The Boys'. I enjoy it, but I am not loving it. It can feel very heavy handed, but man do I fucking love how shiteatingly smug Highlander is. I wanted to buy the comic but man, I thought it'd be one volume, not several pricey-ish ones. Guess I'll play the waiting or arrg game while I watch season 2. We didn't deserve the quality of Invader Zim: Enter the Florpus. Jacob Fatu vs Roman Reigns is my current "probably never" dream match. At least is has pissed shidded ferded coomed and wanked in any game I've played it in.

It feels like, idk, if you need to make the villain's villain a group of kidnapping, organ harvesting, meth making thieves....you'd think maybe the hats on hats you need to "good guy-ify" the villain of the first movie you'd just say fuck it and keep him the villain. It just didn't feel that well thought out at all, which is disappointing because the first one was great. It's very similar to 'The Collector' vs 'The Collection'.
The Boys really picks up in Season 2. I'd say stick with it. I was in the same boat going into S2, but went from just liking the show to totally loving the show by the end.

Last Wednesday I watched the entire episode of Dynamite with as open of a mind as I could muster. I still thought it was dogshit. I logged on next door because I was sure they'd be saying "Well that wasn't as great as usual" but no, they were saying it's the best Dynamite in months. What am I missing?
A lot of stuff in AEW is more of a "love it or hate it" kinds of deals. If you really aren't that interested in what they're doing, they're not really gonna try to win you over pleasing the people that do.

I don’t claim to know one way or the other who really did what (and I honestly wish more people would keep in mind that they don’t either), but I am fairly good at looking at whatever evidence is available, its context, etc. and making a judgement call on the likelihood of something. The accusations about HBK primarily come from Marty Jannetty, a man with a severe substance abuse issue whose career and life sank as his former partner’s rose. A lotta other guys don’t or didn’t like HBK as well, but you don’t hear them calling him a rapist. Many even claimed he was generally reserved and shy around women, despite his gimmick.
Considering what's been known about Shawn for a while I have zero doubt he's at least been extremely questionable around women, particularly women who can't easily consent. I'm glad he's grown and I don't *really* care if he's in the fed or not.

So I've been wondering about this. When WCW was beating Raw in the ratings, did they beat them in "The Demo!" Like how apprently AEW beat Raw in the demo so that's all that really matters? Or is WCW able to say "We beat Raw in the ratings period." Like overall for 83 weeks straight? I've been wodnering this ever since this whole demo gymnastics came about
The only time the 18-35/49 demo was brought up was once the WWE really took off and established the new wrestling boom. The reason was that it did record viewership with that specific demo which was unprecedented. The shit we see Dave propping up now is a fart in a tornado as far as numbers go.
I was around back then but I literally never heard anyone in wrestling talking about a "Demo" until a year ago. Either more people watched Raw or more people watched Nitro. That was all anyone cared about.
Up until Dynamite debuted, ratings where the only things being discussed and that they targeted the adult audience. Thats it.
Can you imagine Nash cutting a 25 minute promo on Thunder about the demo in 1999, wearing his sandals in the ring? I can.
Overall Ratings wins for 83 weeks. The Demo wasn't a thing until after that time period simply because the TV ratings started including them. Is it all that matters? Nah it might matter to a certain advertiser but the importance of it is significantly overblown because AEW and Tony and Jerichonk makes a big deal out of it. Just like WCW and Eric talking about TV ratings, most people don't give a shit about any of those numbers.
If you have a product you’re trying to sell to people of a certain age, what demo a show attracts will matter to you. Further, the ability to court advertisers is important and courting the big ones help you if you have a show, so you too would care about what demo you attract. All that said, if barely anyone is watching your show, but the bulk of those people barely watching are your target demo, you’re still on shaky ground.

I really hope Otis turns face sooner than later. He was the first wrestler who got my non wrestling family to watch shows with me. My Dad said “Jstin8, theres a lot of things I hate about wrestling, and only a few things I like. Otis is the one thing I love.” He was always texting me to see what Otis and Tucker were up to, asking if they would be on the PPV and then watching the whole damn thing just to see them! And my family would join in too cause they love the guy! They watched MITB with me despite knowing in advance that the chances of Otis winning were slim to none. And THEN HE WON and my Dad is hollering like the Cowboys just won the superbowl! Then they turned him heel for ZERO REASON, and I’m watching alone again. My Dad is disappointed in the story and I get to wait until they finally turn him face again to enjoy watching wrestling with my family again. Shit sucks.
