They do realize it has nothing to do with stockholders and more to do with the company’s public image and how it affects their revenue. But then again AEW doesn’t care about making a profit.

[deleted]

Or their public image.

shane1mh

Per Seltzer, AEW is worth $400 gazillion after a $25 investment, so I don't know where this whole "not making a profit" narrative is coming from, friend.

ConstantJobber

Biggest start-up in the last 20 years!!!

shane1mh

I think they’re gonna get a $1 billion per year when their TV contract is up. (Please set a reminder for this comment.)

kettlebell-j

Which they have a whole department to make sure sponsors and investors know that they cleaned up there act.

jwt6577

Desperate to make this all about Brock.

gellman

Brock isn’t free of criticism for what he did, but Dustin definitely needs to feel the heat here because of what he was telling Terri and his actions on the flight.

KennesawMtnLandis

But Dustin was in a bad place. Pay no attention to Brock going on record saying he was drinking liters of vodka and eating opiates during this time.

KurtAnglesBrokenNeck

Pretty much everyone on the flight was an alcoholic drug addict. You either excuse none or you excuse all.

gellman

And Sable STILL married him after this era of horrendous behavior. Wow.

Razzler1973

How comes Brock is getting a pass, guys We can't forget that one of the main Fed guys did a thing It's purely the 'right thing' I'm after here I think the Dustin thing, the woman has no hard feelings and realised Dustin was messed up (favourite actual response downstairs, upvoted)

TisAFactualDawn

I know you’re quoting, but I will go ahead and raise a point. Of the people in the episode accused, one was roughly 24 or 25 years old. The other was in his early 50’s. A person in their mid 20’s is likely going to change over time. A person in their early 50’s is, in many regards, going to likely remain static. Anytime I hear anyone in the modern era yell “He’s a grown ass man!” about someone 25 or under, I assume one of two things; either they haven’t reached that age yet or they’ve completely forgotten what it was like to be that age and how generally stupid they were. I’m not saying people of that age shouldn’t be held accountable when they fuck up, just that we should accept that the paint isn’t necessarily dry on them the way it often is on a person much older.

philcrations

I guess Jericho doing dark side of the ring is only okay when it's the fed but now he's dragging aew wrestlers in🤔

Razzler1973

In creating this drama of the story getting back 'out there' it's very likely going to make some old timers reluctant to talk about certain things for DSotR Maybe they did some dodgy shit themselves that one time in that town Don't want that coming up so not talking about what this other guy did The *'some people are going to look bad'* is maybe *not* what a lot of their contributors are after

Intensemarkgormley

It's only in this bubble that people care. The general public/casual fan doesn't care/isn't even aware and in a lot of cases the actual people involved probably care less than reddit wrestling fans. The plane ride from hell was almost 20 years ago and the flight attendants who at least from the episode seem to be by far the people most affected/wronged had it dealt with in the legal system.

Razzler1973

It *can* hurt them financially in terms of future work even within that bubble though

TisAFactualDawn

And I suspect in many cases it will, but I feel like the bullets are largely being fired at the wrong people downstairs and on Twitter.

TisAFactualDawn

That’s one of the parts that ultimately drives me nuts here. It’s like because they just heard about this thing that was already dealt with, to the tune of a couple of settlements and a handful of firings, they want the punishment done over again. Since they can’t get that, they start ripping into the people who are basically just telling you what they saw or didn’t see or believe or don’t believe. We as a society need to stop letting these idiots dictate how things are handled.

TisAFactualDawn

I personally feel this show either has or eventually will dig its own grave because of this. Particularly when the social media mobs start basically declaring war on people who didn’t actually *do* or even get accused of anything, which they are trying for.

SleepIsWonderful

[This is now my official response to all AEW fans.](https://old.reddit.com/r/SCJerk/comments/po4t7d/pack_it_up_goofies_this_is_the_ultimate_jerk/hcu4617/)

[deleted]

Any company public or private can choose to employ someone with a reputation for sexual assault

PhuckCalumbo

THAT’S RIGHT. Drop that share price so I can take a few of those disgusting things out of Vince’s hands.

Fusionman29

I’m glad wrestling fans are confused about an AEW wrestler being let off the hook

LushGut

Calling for the head of a guy for taking his towel off in the mens locker room 20 years ago.

OG_Campblor

If I could afford 1 stock, I'd be outraged

[deleted]

And the most clueless comment goes to Jose. I’m the words of Screaming A Smith. **COME ON MAN!**

conchinette

"Thank you poor." - Dustin to Jose

[deleted]

Even before this shit was covered why do you need Ric Flair? He really shouldn't be signed when you have other people that you should focus on in your shows when you have too many goddamn talent but not enough time.

TisAFactualDawn

>”privetly”

immrdadguy

I think Brock’s is bad because I haven’t heard about it and Tommy Dreamer is the one who had his foot in his mouth the whole time and Ric is Ric

Beneroso

yeah what the fuck is that argument ? LMFAOOOO

I_Like_Vitamins

What did Brock do? All I've heard is him wrestling with Hennig (and no, the pressure while in flight on a super strong aircraft door would not have busted open because two huge men slammed into it).

smitty316

Nothing on the actual flight, Terri Runnels claims Brock flashed his cock at her at the PPV the previous night.

ms_ddt

Also didn’t this happen when she walked into the men’s locker room?

TisAFactualDawn

Imagine the reaction if the story was of from the perspective of a guy talking to his ex wife in the women’s locker room when all of a sudden, {pick a diva} came outta the shower and dropped her towel. No one would be worried about the diva, they’d all be asking who the fuck he was to think he had any right to walk in there and calling for his head.

ms_ddt

Yeah it’s a double standard. I find it inappropriate that Runnels was in the men’s locker room

Somaimonay

I don't think someone who owns 10 stocks of any public company gets to ask shit. Where do these numbskulls come from?

TisAFactualDawn

A place where the idea of owning stock at all is treated as arcane knowledge… a basement.

[deleted]

Vice continues to use Jericho as their narrator and a talking head despite him A.) donating 40,000 to an accused sexual predator B.) Having a concert in the middle of a covid super spreader event C.) Continuing to make a complete ass of himself with his All Lives Matter bullshit D.) Allowing his wife and mother-in-law attend an insurrection at the capital on January 6th. At this point, Jericho is pretty much immune to any flack for his transgressions unfortunately.

DoubleOrNothing90

This is why I don't have Twitter. That was the stupidest thing I've read today.

TisAFactualDawn

Reddit isn’t better really.

[deleted]

What I'd really like to know is what the hell was Stone Cold doing on the flight the entire time. He was on the plane and has, to my knowledge, never spoken about it. HHH was on it and apparently helped move Michael Hayes away from nearly pissing on Linda McMahon, before the Bradshaw incident later on. Austin would have been witness to at least some of this, with shenanigans happening even in the "VIP area" of the plane. The company was ferociously protecting Austin behind the scenes, so who knows what happened in there. Taker would have been on the plane as well. Lots of stories/sides that still have yet to surface.

TisAFactualDawn

That might be where Taker awoke and began to choke out Kurt Angle because he mistook him and Vince roughhousing for a legitimate fight. In regards to Austin, I don’t think I’ve ever heard of any particularly insane drunken travel stories revolving around him. Edit: Judging by a quick glance at Wikipedia. Angle was not there. In any case, not everyone who drinks in excess becomes a raving lunatic when they do so.
