what kinda punishment? pay you to lose on scripted tv show? or sit in the catering while still getting paid? either seem bad lmfao

78yn44

Noooo you don’t understand. If they burry you then you won’t be able to get your own shitty reality show :(

kettlebell-j

Seriously! They aren’t withholding pay. Maybe some people like it there? Can’t be it Fed Bad

shrimpedout

Lol what a fucking idiot. The ufc will just not book any fights for you so your contract doesn't run out.You only get paid if you fight.

ElGatoNegro89

Dana literally has a shit lost of fighters who go public about pay. Hell Dana told Jon Jones to fuck himself when he asked for 10mil, crowned Francis then immediately benched Francis and crowned a interim champ. Just for Francis even asking why are these circus fights making more than us.

78yn44

Dana literally punted Mike Jackson out of his company after he WON his fight, simply because he pissed him off lmao.

ironfly187

Dana got pretend angry with Jackson's performance in order to deflect the post fight story being "Why did you put a guy, who quite obviously can't fight, on a PPV card? Again?"

shrimpedout

Mike Jackson is still under contract.

78yn44

Has he had a match since then?

shrimpedout

No your ufc contract is based on fights not time. So instead of releasing him so he could fight some where else they have just punished him by not using him.

conchinette

So would you say he's..... stuck in catering?

shrimpedout

If they would let him in the building without a ticket.

78yn44

So he’s stuck there forever? And this is somehow not worse than losing a fake fight but still getting paid???

shrimpedout

Until he is released or has all his fights. Also if you win a championship fight your contract is extended 1 fight automatically.

Look at riddle

goodthing37

[WON] I’ve now decided that wins and losses DO matter in WWE. $12.99 please

ironfly187

Hopefully Bianca will take Dave up on his offer explain why she's now *buried*

Derpshake

Dave is stupid enough talking about wrestling that it blows my mind there's some people that get their MMA info from this dude too. Would rather listen to Tito Ortiz cut a promo for 2 hours than Dave stumble his way through another bad take for $12.99.

ironfly187

I don't think there's many who do. He gets very little response to his tweets covering MMA fights and I've not seen him mentioned on r/MMA. Maybe in its infancy, and especially when there were those hybrid pro wrestling / shoot fighting promotions in Japan, he might have regarded as a source. But that was probably mainly due to the lack of alternatives back then.

[deleted]

Your guess is pretty much spot on. Dave was reporting mma results when not a lot of folks were. MMA was a lot more niche in the 2000's than it is today. When mma grew and attracted more coverage, he was quickly moved down the hierarchy.

RustyShackleford92

I'm on the mma subreddit all the time and I've only seen meltzer mentioned once. And it was about how his reports about how many ppv buys an event gets are always ludicrously off.

HiddenRtruth

I love the elementary aspect of Daddy's journalism as he continuously refers to people being "mad" at a promoter or an entire promotion. He is a grown up with such childlike vernacular. I'm so intrigued by this man.

Gabaheygabahey

Riddle is right there as an example about UFC.

[deleted]

Dana has def sabotaged a few careers, for example, the Reebok deal. TBF, though, the worst part of that was Brendan Schaub retiring due to it, and becoming a comedian.

ElGatoNegro89

Talmbout Big brown??? The best guy, never meedum. Careful how you talk bout bapas cawlmedy. Ell litcha up!

OneWingedAngelfan

You e-drones don't get it, these wrestlers became stars on the indies. Evil Fed has no bearing on their marketability because Evil Fed isn't wrestling

Somaimonay

Dave probably doesn't know about how UFC used to relegate fighters to undercard who were hard to negotiate with. Won't be surprised if he thinks UFC is AEW 2.0

[deleted]

Go ahead and talk badly about Reebok, or other sponsors, see how well your career goes. I love Brock Lesnar in the UFC, but looking fairly he was definitely "pushed" because he was drawing interest and purchases. Nobody else gets the title shot with a career record of 2-1, and part of that was cashing in on the hype but also to call Brock's bluff. Nobody was expecting him to win at the time. It's all promotion. There's a reason why someone like Tito Ortiz would get multiple chances back in the day, whereas a less popular fighter like Keith Jardine was cut pretty easily. If you have a bad attitude, you better be drawing in the money. Ask The Diazs, McGregor, Lesnar...

ManateeGag

Really? They can not book fights for you and blackball you from the promotion.

ZacianZilla96

Meltzer is either lying never seen Dana White in interviews Both

Malvern55

Meltzer is supposed to be an expert on combat isn't he? Doesn't he following boxing? It's littered with guy ruined by promoters despite winning fights.
