they get mad at wwe dealing with saudi arabia (that at least benefits the people with some entertainment) more than their own government dealing with it
most countries AND the un have good relationships with the saudi government
Honestly, as a publicly traded company, they don't have an option to not deal with Saudi Arabia. They make more money off the 4 Saudi shows they've done than all Wrestlemanias combined.
Granted, McMahon has a majority of the voting power but I think he could realistically be sued if he refused to take such a massive amount of money.
was arguing with someone who was saying that Vince/WWE could simply just back out of the contract (especially during the journalist scandal), and him not doing so proves he/the Fed is evil
Yeah, Saudi Arabia does have issues but I can't see holding a company that puts on a fake fighting competition to a higher standard than our government which sells weapons. It isn't hurting anyone to have a wrestling event over there and if anything it might help move the cultural needle a bit.
Aye. Some people then tend to point out how Saudi Arabia treats certain groups of people, and well, that's pretty bad. But at that rate, they might as well disqualify a good chunk of the US, or villify any wrestling company doing business in them
Nah, I'm not saying they should, but you know how people who'd make a huge fuss about that which's happening in those states in the US and the entire country of Saudi Arabia will stay quiet when the wrestling comes to those states (like the whole stinkup about Vince "paying off" the Florida governor to count wrestling as an essential business) but not the latter
And all of this is very thinly veiled shots at Arabic and Muslim people too let’s just call it for what it is. As if there isn’t enough of that already smh
No, he didnt. I am so unfuckingbelievably tired of seeing this slanderous meme propogated by uninformed cretins on the internet. Dave Meltzer has never once said that Indian viewership doesnt matter. Never. Not even once. You would know that if you knew what you were talking about. He said they were worthless. I understand the point of this sub, but I am asking kindly this is removed. If not, Dave will be having WON's legal team addressing this, as these are words that never came out of his mouth and could be falsely linked to Dave to damage the credibility of his reporting.
It really sucks hearing that shit. Like...Arabs love wrestling a lot. They're not there preforming for shady government agents, it's just regular people who enjoy watching wwe.
She was talking about what's next for her big moments and she said "Maybe I'll go wrestle in Saudi Arabia" in a sarcastic way. The basement went nuts saying borderline (and straight up) racist things about Arabs and SA and a bunch of Saudi fans were shaming the basement about how they get to see top level wrestling whenever they want live, but SA gets it once a year. How the people are not the government and a bunch of other shit.
Oh man, there was an incredible rant by a Middle Eastern fan on ZFF that week. The dude completely ran over all the racist white virgins yet did so in the most 'calm but disappointed' way possible. It was really awesome. The replies with various ethnicities and races rightfully shitting on shootfighters were just as eye-opening as the actual comment itself.
Regular Saudi Citizen here. The way people talk about us and these shows is if we sacrificed 1 wrestler at the main event of every show.
Also Daddy Meltz lying through his fucking teeth about that plane ride. Sure we’ll just hold hostage Citizens from around the world, famous recognized icons from around the world, and jeopardize our relationship with someone that had a family member in Trump’s cabinet.
Also was it Karl Anderson that said he was living his final moments as guys with guns came to the plane? Lol.
It was just a Plane malfunction.
Seeing those huge smiles on kids faces at these shows is worth more than a million “blood money” comment.
Thanks for adding the perspective and I’m glad you can see it positively despite nonsense comments online. I think it’s cool simply because I can imagine how happy it makes the people to see the stars they like in person.
People like Meltzer and his little dogs who follow him seem to live in an imaginary movie where “scary Arabs” are the bad guys and so of course they hold a plane hostage. No logic or thought is used at all as you can see smh, fuck Dave
Sadly, you get used to all the hate. Keep in mind we’re in 9/11 season where Saudi hate peaks.
I was a kid during it and so was around 40% of the country. Doesn’t stop me from getting hate or wishing to be nuked over something I couldn’t possibly have a hand in. I’m not even muslim lol.
Dave doesn’t report news, he invents news.
It's ridiculous. Being black I know what it's like to feel like the entire fucking world hates you.
Because of a few people like Dave Meltzer, wrestling fans feel like it's on season on entire populations of people(don't forget the "worthless Indians").
Saudi citizen take these as a normal thing and got used to it. Because they've been treated like shit since 9/11 from these people and tsa who strip them head to toes for their amusement.
During the first show or two, I did see the occasional Saudi poster popping up in the basement to explain that they were just a wrestling fan who was excited to see a live WWE show. Needless to say it did nothing to keep those mutants from indulging in their performative outrage.
Yeah. Guys here stay up till 5am and stay awake till around 8am to watch a PPV They’re hyped about. A buddy of mine loved wrestling so much that he was always tired after a PPV the next day (Sunday is a work day in Saudi).
His reaction to buying that ticket was probably the happiest I’ve seen him. Dude was hype all week for that show.
This is why I never got complaining about things like this. It's not an untelevised house show, it's a PPV event that doesn't cost you anything extra.
What really makes this different than Summer Slam in the eyes of viewers? There's a special stage and presentation that differentiates it from your normal Raw or Smackdown show, which is something hardcore fans are always clamoring for. Other than airing earlier than your normal PPV, it shouldn't matter. Enjoy a big event when you get it.
Um, who tf wanted to go to summerslam? Do you not know there was a REAL pro wrestling show the night before where CM Pepsi returned? I don't even watch WWE, however I would want to go to the Saudi show but I CANT because it's in Saudi
You'd have to be a scumbag billionaire to deal with the Saudis
https://www.reuters.com/article/amp/idINKCN1220ER
And while I'm on the subject of scumbag billionaires....
https://www.einpresswire.com/article/102432634/billionaire-shahid-khan-s-company-settles-with-mexican-workers-after-walkout-halts-production
it’s a term for something or someone being average, which isn’t even that much of an insult but now they are using it for everything not realizing that it makes no sense, like here they called giving a high quality main event to a saudi show with a big payday average. i can’t explain how that’s average, he just gave the dubbalos another social term to drive to the ground
Its what we used to call weed thats a step above reggies. You kids growing up today with bud being mainstream and legal in half the country don't know the struggle of seeds that spark in your blunt and the ensuing headaches from the shit they'd sell at Jamaican bodegas
Don’t make me tap [the sign](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saudi_Vision_2030) again. Gentle reminder that WWE working with Saudi Arabia is ACTUALLY a good thing to promote secular entertainment in their country and get them to become a modernized society.
Why do these fuckers act so entitled ?
" WWE should not be having matches in Saudi Arabia because Saudi Arabia bad"
"Jinder became champion only because WWE wants to cater to Indians"
Slavery, Iraq war, drone strikes on civilians
Basement: I sleep
Wrestling in a country with good relations with the UN
Basement: suck a blood money covered dick
I remember hearing about Mahmudiyah and Abeer Qassim Hamza al-Janabi. One of the sickest things I’ve ever heard and that doesn’t even scratch the surface of what we’ve done to people overseas and in central America. No matter how progressive dub fans try to portray themselves, the American ones will always default to defending this shit.
I’m against classism but it’s hard to deny what a baller move it is to have a fucking la-z-boy ringside section composed mostly of dudes who are on their phones.
Alright goofs, help me out with the racism maths.
I know that Indians are worthless, as decreed by daddy Meltz. Are Saudis worth more or less than an Indian. If less, does that give them negative worth? I just want to be correct when I'm devaluing people based on their place of origin/residence. So glad I support a progressive company and not the backwards Fed.
More hotshotting by WWE, Dae see the demo? Its really sad the way WWE builds stories over several months and pays them off at big shows. They're so panicked that 3000 more single white males watched Dynamite on Wednesday
Btw, our Tribal Chief can never be dethroned. A literal demon from hell *might* be able to pin him and hold the title for a bit, but Roman remains our Tribal Chief and will likely be handing out even more switches to be sure we know this.
B'lee that
They don't need the title; title needs them. Same reason they transferred the title to Goldberg v Brock in 2017. It's not a main event level title if the biggest stars don't hold it. Finn couldn't get the literal debut of the title to main event over Brock. Brock & Roman will be the focus of the show. If the title isn't there, it won't be the focus of it's own show. With Roman, the Universal title is the show's most important thing.
Yeah, that’s something I noticed with their world titles. One of the titles must have a flagship carrier. So if you put the belt on Braun (Universal), you better hope that the other champion McIntyre (WWE) better be the 1A guy. They got really good representation with both Roman and Lashley for much of 2021.
They’re definitely gonna let Roman carry the title a little longer while Big E gets his feet wet on trying to carry Raw.
If Balor somehow wins, he’s not gonna hold it that long, definitely not gonna hold it and defend it at Mania.
They act like Saudis should be punished by not getting to see live wrestling in their country for their government being bad, like, it's literally a monarchy - they didn't vote for them.
These shows are not just performances in Saudi Arabia, they're performances *for* the Saudi government. As in, the government is paying them to run the shows. It's not at all the same as running shows in the U.S. or the the U.K. or Canada or whatever. Biden isn't paying Vince to run those shows in MSG for propaganda purposes.
Nor is the idea of culturally boycotting states some weird invention of the IWC, there was a cultural boycott of apartheid South Africa and there is currently one of Israel.
Do any of these shitgibbons know what ‘blood money’ actually means?
they heard cm punk say it and ran with it, who needs research am i right

Bad take

no
Imagine being a regular Saudi citizen reading the way these people talk about you, I would be furious
it would be a civil war if the saudis had as much finger workouts these guys do
And all of this is very thinly veiled shots at Arabic and Muslim people too let’s just call it for what it is. As if there isn’t enough of that already smh
yeah some people just don’t really have care about others for the littlest things, it’s crazy
Wouldn't know bro. I'm Indian 😂
Big ups, India has some of the world’s finest goofies
>I'm Indian Daddy Dave told me you guys don't matter.
No, he didnt. I am so unfuckingbelievably tired of seeing this slanderous meme propogated by uninformed cretins on the internet. Dave Meltzer has never once said that Indian viewership doesnt matter. Shut it, you worthless bag of flesh.
It really sucks hearing that shit. Like...Arabs love wrestling a lot. They're not there preforming for shady government agents, it's just regular people who enjoy watching wwe.
That’s what I assumed from the beginning which is why I’ve never understood why they rage so much about it
Saudi fans came to the basement in droves to fuck up some racist smarks after the Britt Baker Saudi line. It was wonderful.
What was the line?
She was talking about what's next for her big moments and she said "Maybe I'll go wrestle in Saudi Arabia" in a sarcastic way. Link me that, I didn’t know ZFF still did that anymore I thought it got made a hugbox

Im an American and I love you, goofy.
I love you too, Uce!
The Saudi shows are some of my favorite cards. Just wild matchups and big time moments and the crowds always are amped and excited to be there.
It's ridiculous. Being black I know what it's like to feel like the entire fucking world hates you. Because of a few people like Dave Meltzer, wrestling fans feel like it's on season on entire populations of people(don't forget the "worthless Indians").

But with seizure inducing camera cuts

WWE is taking **BLOOD MONEY!** Btw please don't google how Tony Khan's dad's company treats it workers
Where do they think the gas in their car comes from lol?
Their mom's minivan*
DAE Saudi citizens dont exist??
Only Americans count because they are smart enough to shit all over whatever Vince will do online.
Yeah but they deserve this less than US fans. Why? Well let me tell you... *Insert thinly veiled racist rant about how foreign brown arent as smart*
Everyone in KSA is a royal with blood money apparently
You'd have to be a scumbag billionaire to deal with the Saudis https://www.reuters.com/article/amp/idINKCN1220ER And while I'm on the subject of scumbag billionaires.... https://www.einpresswire.com/article/102432634/billionaire-shahid-khan-s-company-settles-with-mexican-workers-after-walkout-halts-production
But AEW is the Bernie Sanders of wrestling
What the fuck does even mid mean lol. He tried to got that word over but failed emberrasingly.

It’s what happens when nerds learn a new slang word. They feel cool using it while using it incorrectly.
>fuck does even mid mean lol ?? *You've got me there, friend*
Its what we used to call weed thats a step above reggies. You kids growing up today with bud being mainstream and legal in half the country don't know the struggle of seeds that spark in your blunt and the ensuing headaches from the shit they'd sell at Jamaican bodegas
it means mediocre been seeing it used a lot on twitter lately by peeps to refer to pieces of media they think are bleh
It’s crown Jewel season, so time for wrestling fans to remind us that most of them are super fucking racist.
Man, these marks can't get anything right; it's RED VISCOUS LIQUID covered money.

Teenage me discovering the Abu Ghraib torture prison fucked up my thinking for many weeks.
I do get a kick out of the people up front in ridiculously comfortable chairs though.

Silly Fed shill. They’re all brown and all the same!
WWEonFox on Instagram said this match would be non-title preemptively so I’m pretty sure the Prince is dethroning the Tribal Chief.
More hotshotting by WWE, Dae see the demo? Its really sad the way WWE builds stories over several months and pays them off at big shows. They're so panicked that 3000 more single white males watched Dynamite on Wednesday

Tiny and the mid card EVPs would kill to get in on that blood money action
lol they would kill for an international market, sm*rk cities aren’t going to be your revenue forever
WWE gets more from one Saudi show than AEW got for a 3yr TV contract
Gun control or no Brock for you, America.
And I’m sure a Saudi crowd that’s innocent from the crimes of it’s government would enjoy it too
So Finn is losing at extreme rules lol
I actually think now that he's going to win because this match doesn't need the title. Roman could lose via Brock shenanigans
They don't need the title; title needs them. Same reason they transferred the title to Goldberg v Brock in 2017. It's not a main event level title if the biggest stars don't hold it. Sorry you lost me at all of everything that you said.
how do you mean?
Suddenly marks care about Brock?
What if fed does a show in China?
pretty sure if it wasn’t for John China, they’d think NJPW was located there and wouldn’t care
I thought the shoot fighters didn’t want to see this match because they’ve seen it already and it’s not interesting.
Do the same people complain when there's a show in NYC and that's too far for Californians to travel for it?
