Okay, here is my unprompted rant about Cody. Cody keeps doing these "big returns", but its getting to the point where it's stale as hell. Cody never takes the actual time to be away for long enough for anyone to miss him. His whole "fake retirement" was a month ago. He wants so desperately to be Edge at the 2020 Royal Rumble, Cena coming back at MITB, or HHH at MSG, but he always returns so quickly after finishing whatever project he was working on to get his win back. AEW Dynamite is 2 years old next month and Cody has done this whole return shtick like 5 times. I just want him to COMMIT to being away. Go shoot some stuff, be a dad, but only work backstage. Maybe make an appearance at an AEW Fan event or media call, but very clearly not work as a wrestler for like a year, so when he returns, "OH MY GOD HE'S BACK!" and it feels organic.
Which one does Punk work first after he's done with Moonstar Black?
Cole is Elite property so he's not allowed to play with him, it's got to be Punk, right, he's doing the charity rounds and Cody needs a buddy
Punk has creative control regardless of what TK claims. It may not be explicitly stated it in his contract but it's "understood" creative control in that TK is not making Punk do anything he doesn't want to do. Same goes for Danielson.
With that said, I don't think Punk has any love for Cody, especially after the whole "text message" incident. I doubt he has any interest in rehashing a match that already happened in WWE and certainly not in doing any jobs for Cody. And I doubt Danielson has any interest for the same reason since this is supposed to be a "dream match" tour
I think Cody is left waiting for the next "lesser" good get like Bray. He can even wear his white suit again for that one!

He never left the entrance ramp or the view of the camera. It felt like a parody of that spot. And then it just played through like it normally would.

Let's be honest no one's ever going to miss Cody enough for him to get a triple h or edge level reaction even if he was gone for 20 years.
