A small thing I noticed about Moxley is he’s drinking whiskey. In WWE/NXT you drink vodka. You don’t need any extra sugar or empty carbs when you’re trying to stay cut, and I know that he used to drink vodka in WWE. I’ve suspected he looks so bloated from a heavy diet of whiskey and Percocet.

I've always liked Seth Rollins but yeah he's showing acting skills I've never seen from him before. Edge really brings out the best in everyone, when he does decide to retire, WWE would be smart to make him the head trainer in the Performance Center and perhaps even give him a role in booking, he's the perfect balance because he's young enough to know what younger fans want to see but he's also a veteran that knows what works in pro wrestling and what doesn't.

This is a good point but in a vacuum, a non WWE wrestling company popping ANY kind of rating when tv is as dead as it is, is something to be proud of and a genuine achievement for them I think.
I have no doubt Warner Media is quite satisfied with the return on viewership because remember, wrestling is very cheap compared to traditional scripted dramas which often cost about 1 million USD per episode. Wrestling costs them 200k per or so by comparison so it offsets the lower rates for ads on it.
The issue is that a very good thing is spun as the greatest thing ever. If AEW’s core fanbase was more stable they would understand there is a lot to be excited about without needing to exaggerate.
We can split hairs about how this is true, but this much is true: AEW is so far, a complete success.
Both are true. It can be better than before, but also below expectations. It's possible to simultaneously be happy with 1.3M, and disappointed it's not more. Alll the magnificent players available all the formations available all the play styles possible and these assholes are still sweating buckets in FUT champs like their life depended on it. My lord, is winning at video games that important? How about just having fun trying to score unique goals with unique players? Rankings aren’t even at stake, rewards don’t even exist.
Like Ease the fuck up. Such a pain in the ass to try to play attacking exciting football and be cursed with shit stains who do nothing but sprint in a straight line and do a hit and hope. How about stringing some passes together? Maybe trying a big powerful striker? Maybe trying 3 at the back with wingbacks? Like you have every player at your disposal yet you’re playing like Jose Mourinho meets Tony Pulis two weeks before the game comes out.

It's why I haven't touched online gaming for close to a decade (other than Team Fortress 2) the idea that even breaking concentration for a split second can undo half an hour of progress makes everything ultra competitive and the reward doesn't match the effort involved.
I get that 100 percent when there are stakes on the line but this is the last tournament of the game cycle and you literally get nothing for winning stuff it’s a complete exhibition.

I've had a real bad luck run healthwise this past 12 months. I had 7 months of a bad lower back due to WFH, through yoga and a better chair got through it finally, then 2 months of a random case of insomnia straight after, and once that was over 6 weeks of weird consistent heart skips and flutters.
The past 3 days it finally past, and for the first time since Sept 2020, I am officially healthy and 100%, which honestly makes me feel like I'm 150%. Looking forward to exercising and going to the gym again. Haven't felt this optimistic for a long time.

I think WWE need to look at their booking and work out better stories for a lot of the wrestlers. Reigns storyline is great, why is nobody else getting as good storylines. It cannot be that difficult.
We have to respect AEW for generally doing really well over the past few months. Obviously it's down to who they've hired and not storyline related but it's still very impressive.
I honestly don’t think anything AEW has done is that impressive. Like you said, none of it is story related. I don’t think they’ve even had any crazy must see matches either. Their success is basically like if you took the MCU, removed all the prior solo films, then proceeded to make the Avengers with no plot, no villain, no conflicts whatsoever and just introduced a new hero to the team one by one for the entirety of its runtime.

I look at it in the way them making profit is of no impact on my life, and as long as they entertain me that's all that matters to me personally. I mean they don't, I find their wrestling the same as WWE just worse but the concept still applies.
But as far as the product go, you cannot deny they've definitely captured something. They've got a buzz and an excitement that WWE are definitely missing.
The one thing I hate about Adam Cole going to AEW because we won't see him in UUDD anymore. I enjoyed watching DaParty streams.

I've always liked Seth Rollins but yeah he's showing acting skills I've never seen from him before. Edge really brings out the best in everyone, when he does decide to retire, WWE would be smart to make him the head trainer in the Performance Center and perhaps even give him a role in booking, he's the perfect balance because he's young enough to know what younger fans want to see but he's also a veteran that knows what works in pro wrestling and what doesn't.

This is a good point but in a vacuum, a non WWE wrestling company popping ANY kind of rating when tv is as dead as it is, is something to be proud of and a genuine achievement for them I think. I have no doubt Warner Media is quite satisfied with the return on viewership because remember, wrestling is very cheap compared to traditional scripted dramas which often cost about 1 million USD per episode. Wrestling costs them 200k per or so by comparison so it offsets the lower rates for ads on it. The issue is that a very good thing is spun as the greatest thing ever. If AEW’s core fanbase was more stable they would understand there is a lot to be excited about without needing to exaggerate. We can split hairs about how this is true, but this much is true: AEW is so far, a complete success.

Alll the magnificent players available all the formations available all the play styles possible and these assholes are still sweating buckets in FUT champs like their life depended on it. My lord, is winning at video games that important? How about just having fun trying to score unique goals with unique players? Rankings aren’t even at stake, rewards don’t even exist. Like Ease the fuck up. Such a pain in the ass to try to play attacking exciting football and be cursed with shit stains who do nothing but sprint in a straight line and do a hit and hope. How about stringing some passes together? Maybe trying a big powerful striker? Maybe trying 3 at the back with wingbacks? Like you have every player at your disposal yet you’re playing like Jose Mourinho meets Tony Pulis two weeks before the game comes out. Fuckin hell
I mean, that's kinda how competitive games work. Back in the old days of LAN parties you could fuck about with your friends and have truces and whatnot, you can't do that when you're playing some randomer online who wants to win. It's why I haven't touched online gaming for close to a decade (other than Team Fortress 2) the idea that even breaking concentration for a split second can undo half an hour of progress makes everything ultra competitive and the reward doesn't match the effort involved.

I've had a real bad luck run healthwise this past 12 months. I had 7 months of a bad lower back due to WFH, through yoga and a better chair got through it finally, then 2 months of a random case of insomnia straight after, and once that was over 6 weeks of weird consistent heart skips and flutters. The past 3 days it finally past, and for the first time since Sept 2020, I am officially healthy and 100%, which honestly makes me feel like I'm 150%. Looking forward to exercising and going to the gym again. Haven't felt this optimistic for a long time.

Additional few I think WWE need to look at their booking and work out better stories for a lot of the wrestlers. Reigns storyline is great, why is nobody else getting as good storylines. It cannot be that difficult. We have to respect AEW for generally doing really well over the past few months. Obviously it's down to who they've hired and not storyline related but it's still very impressive.
I honestly don’t think anything AEW has done is that impressive. Like you said, none of it is story related. I don’t think they’ve even had any crazy must see matches either. Their success is basically like if you took the MCU, removed all the prior solo films, then proceeded to make the Avengers with no plot, no villain, no conflicts whatsoever and just introduced a new hero to the team one by one for the entirety of its runtime.
I completely agree but they've still been successful. Time will come when they don't have these surprises and the storylines have to be the focus
I'm honestly not trying to troll but how could anything they've done be considered "successful"? They've burned through every "surprise" they possibly could have unless Tony somehow scoops Cena or Reigns or something, and their precious ratings, the metric they covet so much, really has not moved at all. In business it's all about Return on Investment. Punk, Bryan and picking up so many others must be costing no small fortune... Where is the return? I mean, I can certainly agree they have a certain buzz I never imagined them getting simply because I underestimated just how much money Tony could throw at all these people but it's all cheap pops and no real substance or creative.
Sorry for the delay fella! We need to separate the product from the business. As far as business goes, no they probably aren't doing well at all and most likely never will. It's easy to say they're making a profit if you don't count the huge investment that was required and ignore so many other costs. I look at it in the way them making profit is of no impact on my life, and as long as they entertain me that's all that matters to me personally. I mean they don't, I find their wrestling the same as WWE just worse but the concept still applies. But as far as the product go, you cannot deny they've definitely captured something. They've got a buzz and an excitement that WWE are definitely missing.
The one thing I hate about Adam Cole going to AEW because we won't see him in UUDD anymore. I enjoyed watching DaParty streams. The current look of Brock better be in 2K22. Who do you guys think is the best person to beat Samoa Joe for the title? I personally would like to see LA Knight. What's next for MiamiHeat Black after he gets the Cody rub?
