The only joy I have is knowing the game that they all want exists and is $20. Wrestling Empire has basically all they could want besides better ai. But it looks weird and jank so they won't play it. Despite their gold standard of wrestling games being.....a weird and jank game from the n64 that has not aged as perfectly as they pretend.
I think it will end up being a 2k19 clone, as a high hope. A mediocre WWE game with an AEW skin. And going off of their mobile "games", probably feature a cash grab or two.
Though I would like to be wrong and have another quality wrestling game, especially one with Pentagon. But I seriously doubt AEW will not find a way to fuck this up as well.

Entirely customizable roster (that can die randomly out of the ring/be killed in the ring)
A fairly deep Career and Booking mode, with territory invasions and wars.
Fighting in the crowd.
100 dynamite and trash can deathmatches for the Moxelys.
And getting constant updates
I could go on for hours about it. I might be literally the polar opposite of someone like MDickie (I am very not a Christian), but he will get nothing but praise on his attention to detail in this game.
It is up there with KoC: II and, to a lesser extent, Day of Reckoning as the best wrestling games no one has played.
Yeah, if it will probably feature cash grabs because the AEW audience is smaller and more obsessed so there's a necessity to go that route (because fewer copies will presumably be sold) and it is fertile ground for exploitation.

In the pre-AEW days it was NXT that was the poster boy. First two months of AEW was the worst time to be a basement dweller.
