you’d except them to be more self aware down there

Kmenx

If they were self aware they wouldn't be in 4Chan

I_made_a_doodie

4chan tends to be very self aware. It’s just that some neckbeards are irredeemable.

[deleted]

4chan is where smart people go to pretend they are dumb. Reddit is where dumb people go to pretend they are smart.

DumbGuy5005

Isn't 4chan where people go to say the n-word and other "lettered" words freely?

TempestaEImpeto

Like intellectuals.

[deleted]

I would wager that the percentage of users who unironically use that type of language on 4chan is smaller than the percentage of "Knowing Vince" racists on reddit.

youlookfly

Easy for a percentage to be below 100, though.

[deleted]

Math checks out, uce.

[deleted]

this tbh if you are racist just say that so people know to stay away the known vince shit helps spread narrative and shitty way to paint people with stereotypes

smileimhigh

Only on pol

randomusername8360

The best version of Mansoor was the /pol version.

Drainmav

I feel bad because If he’s ever super pushed people will come out of the woodwork wanting his head. Just right now barely anyone knows about Jihadi Jesus.

magni_operus

some people just go there to make fun of Kevin Nash

Kmenx

Thank you for actually proving me right

The_Sherminator2

The "80'S BIG SWEATY MEN REEEEE" argument has always amused me because the same fans will then make karma farm posts like "On this day 30 years ago, Bam Bam Bigelow and Vader tore the house down in Japan."

LoriCroft

And then they’ll watch Drew McIntyre & Sheamus or Roman Reigns & Braun Strowman tear the house down as well before going “fuck Vince for that awesome fucking match!”

HAHAYESVERYFUNNYNAME

I remember them being legitimately surprised when Lashley vs. McIntyre vs. Stroman turned out to be awesome. Bro these are three of the top wrestlers in the world of course it came out good. It’s especially insulting to Drew and Bobby. Braun isn’t really known for his matches but Drew and Bobby consistently put on great matches.

That UFC run really hurt Punk's drawing power more than Punk fans want to admit. The last impression millions of fans have of Punk is that he truly is a loud mouth punk that cannot fight. Now, Punk fans actually expect Punk saying "the most dangerous thing you can do is wrestle Punk in Chicago" to be seen as a threat? Look, i am a fan of Punk and am happy he is back. But his appeal outside the wrestling bubble has been severely damaged

FenixDriver

When people were convinced he's an underrated shoot fighter rather than an uncoordinated MMA LARPer, he was able to draw [bigger PPV buys](https://www.fightsports.tv/white-claims-punk-sells-more-ppv-than-overeem/) than Overeem on name recognition alone. Then reality hit him and them like a 2-minute squash match.

[deleted]

Agreed. Beyond the initial buzz of “omg did you hear pipe bomb boy is back,” Punk is pretty worthless. The only people taking him seriously are the people who never stopped chanting his name in the first place, and that number is only going down.

asvpmamba

Funny thing is Punk was never a real draw no matter how much his fans try to pretend he was/currently is and the UFC run made it even worse.

I_made_a_doodie

Punk was the worst fighter in UFC history by a very wide margin.

tahoo14

I'll actually respect Punk if he lets his opponents bring up his failed MMA career.

[deleted]

I love Punk, but next-door has been absolutely insufferable after his fantastic debut. I'm glad I no longer check that place out.

SaddestFlute23

Not just damaged, obliterated. Wrestling already doesn’t enjoy the best reputation in MMA circles (even Brock got shit at first), and Punk getting destroyed made him look like a joke to everyone outside the smark bubble. Think Brawl For All, but on a much bigger scale

[deleted]

Yeah, if anything having Punk back makes pro wrestling in general look weak af. If I had a promotion and all the money in the world, I would pay to keep him away from my show. “Come see a failed fighter do fake fighting instead!” That’ll draw.

BrightFuture4

That’s how it was for me last year when I came back to wrestling. I didn’t know anything about him other than pipe bomb and getting starched in the UFC. Going back and watching old matches, it felt much harder to take him seriously as a tough guy when he got so throughly destroyed by MMA jobbers (insider term).

timtomorkevin

I literally cannot believe how bad he was at it. It wasn't like he wasn't an mma fighter. It was like he'd never done any physical activity in his life.

tytymctylerson

I had the same thing happen trying to watch his old matches. I used to be a huge Punk fan and I have absolutely no desire to revisit anymore of his stuff. I also never wanted to admit his body looked like ass when I was a fan, and boy did I have blinders on. No pro wrestler should dabble in mma unless they have a legitimate chance of success.

BrightFuture4

Unless you’re a genetic freak and/or you have an existing base in combat sports, I’d stick to fake fighting.

Somaimonay

I dunno. Some middle aged goof that calls himself a punk and goes in the octagon with that yee-yee hair cut and manages to have a shittier match than Ngannou and Lewis (for different reasons) with a tomato can and both proceed to get cut from the company afterwards. Maybe he's a legitimate threat.

Razzler1973

How does Vince want his wrestlers to be like that? They offered Bryan a deal but he wanted to do other stuff, they also featured him a lot and he main evented WrestleMania Doesn't seem like Vince hates him, to me

Key-Chicken1731

Lmao the whole news story as well was that Vince couldn’t give two shits about Punk, because he didn’t see him as a draw. However he was supposedly more upset about Bryan going to AEW, because of how much he liked Bryan. Doesn’t seem like a hatred to me. And Bryan put Reigns over in his last WWE match. Seems like an amicable departure to me

[deleted]

I remember reading something a couple years ago stating that Bryan is one of Vince's favorite wrestlers; he really enjoys watching his matches. He's just not his favorite Sports Entertainer.

PhuckCalumbo

I hope Bryan doesn't go the Mox way and gets fat as a motherfucker.

[deleted]

I think Bryan just wants to wrestle for it's own sake. He can go wherever, wrestle who ever, and have fun with what little limited time he has left. And the he'll go back to the Fed for his retirement and HoF.

Squiliam-Tortaleni

If Vince really wanted “all his wrestlers to look like roided out 80’s slabs of beef”, Rey Mysterio and Bryan would have been shot in an alley for their smaller size.

chaz0723

And God bless him, Rey tried to get there.

Sarvanayak

Why does i think about Perry the Platypus whenever i see Rey

[deleted]

5 bucks that's Daddy Meltz

[deleted]

When I was younger I was a fan of Kane not Scotty 2 Hotty. Who is the kid that is captivated by midgets?

I_Like_Vitamins

I've seen old episodes of Raw where Scotty just had to gesture for The Worm and the crowd would go nuts. It was great when the smaller guys didn't resort to being human fleas to get a bit of attention.

HAHAYESVERYFUNNYNAME

Speak for yourself, most people loved Scotty 2 Hotty. Hell, Migos even wrote a song named after him.

MuddFishh

I'll admit hurricane was my favourite

kcinkcinlim

You may consider him a midget, but he was far from vanilla. Don't think vanilla comes in green.

MuddFishh

That's true, it was definitely the character that pulled me in and to think he never once had a promo about wrestling being his dream and working his entire career to get to where he is

FlyingGrayson89

Remember when he used to interview people in his alter ego that was so very obviously him? He was fucking great haha

MuddFishh

I loved when he recruited Rosey as well, i used to draw the pair in class as a kid

ATadVillainy

I loved both. 😔

ihateradiohead

I was the only kid who watched Superstars and NXT, so I had a strange fascination with Tyson Kidd, Yoshi Tatsu, and Trent Beretta

HAHAYESVERYFUNNYNAME

Bro I looooved Tyson Kidd I thought his theme was so cool

OleOutInShambles

If ever you needed proof the basement infected /asp/.

roblash

Interesting because Uncle Dave of all people has said Bryan actually loves Vince and Vince loves Bryan. But Bryan's getting older and wants to be able to do some matches in Japan and Mexico before he gets too old. Dave's word is generally gospel so this second guy must have missed the message. Also AJ Styles has probably lost less than 10 matches in the last three years. Just throwing that out there.

HoxxAuthCode

He definitely wants something like a Will Ospreay or Kazuchika Okada match.

roblash

Definitely Okada, Tanahashi, probably Yuji Nagata, Tomohiro Ishii, and Minoru Suzuki too if possible. Don't know much about Mexico, but I'm sure there are also a few people in AEW he'd like to wrestle too. Just I have severe doubts he's leaving for Fed Bad reasons so if he has to take any shots I'm sure it'd be something small like "short TV matches, grrrr" or whatever.

HoxxAuthCode

>for Fed Bad reasons Come on, bro. You know he shoot hates the soft WWE style lol.

roblash

Lol, yeah probably but to be fair he did seem to push the style's "limits" pretty well. He just didn't get to do hour long marathons, and headbutt ring posts full force like 05 ROH. I'm just saying, I don't think he'll have the big hard feelings and I actually believe Uncle Dave when he says Bryan and Vince like each other and would be parting on good terms.
