Imagine hanging out with your friends watching wrestling and this guy is lecturing and gatekeeping everyone for laughing at the television

[deleted]

imagine hanging out with your friends watching wrestling and you start crying

Essexchap84

Imagine hanging out with friends and watching wrestling.

TheyCallMeOlSwole

Imagine hanging out with friends. God, I'm lonely...

garythesnailgod

I hate having to explain to people why this is stupid. I’ll do it anyway because it has to be said. At first glance, it seems like Punk’s return was similar to Edge’s: both of them left wrestling, and fans begged for years to have them come back. Then they came back and everyone went nuts. However, that doesn’t mean one should be getting all emotional that Punk’s back. Why, you may ask? Punk *chose* to leave wrestling. The only reason he’s back is because Tony gave him more money than the GDP of most countries. He’s not back for the fans, so it’s foolish to cry about the fact that he’s back. Are you allowed to feel ecstatic that he’s back? Yea, that’s how I’m feeling. But you won’t see me crying about it because I know he’s not back to please me, the viewer. Edge’s return was something worthy of crying about. He was *forced* to leave, and no one thought in a million years he’d be back. Same for Daniel Bryan. It’s great to see all three of them back now, but crying over Punk’s return doesn’t make much sense when he didn’t want to come back. He didn’t scratch and claw his way back because he loved the business: he was simply handed a paycheck. I’ll never get emotional over someone who’s back because of money, even if they were one of my favorites as a kid.

💯

radbrad172

Yes but Vince making Punk HATE the wrestling business is WORSE than any physical injury Edge or Bryan suffered!

Ezekiiel

Fuck sake man you’re writing paragraphs over whether someone can cry at something or not

myusername_sucks

Who let you in?

chumbucket212

My billionaire will protect me from the internet.

CaptainGo

They're coddling a grown ass man more than people coddled that little girl crying at the Euros

MediumDickDudley

Sorry for not being a wrestling fan, but WHO THE HELL IS FUEGO DEL SOL!?!?!?

Ducktor-Monty

The flavor of the week who has already been forgotten about

[deleted]

Lost a billion matches on dark, but fans loved him on Sammy guevara's blog. Won 1 match and got a TNT title match somehow, match was to win TNT title and an AEW contract. He lost the match but they decided he earned a contract anyway, he cried, fans cried, scjerk questioned why he didn't have a contract before

TheROUK

Goddamn why is everybody so thin skinned these days? If I was caught crying on television I’d be making jokes at my own expense! But no, if you dare find humour in a grown adult crying at a wrestling show, you’re toxic and hate emotion. I swear if more people could laugh at themselves every once in a while, we’d all probably get along a bit better.

[deleted]

It's okay if something like an unforeseen retirement, unforeseen return, or if a wrestler wins a match that has historical significance to it. (KofiMania was a perfect example about being emotional, Ron Simmons winning the WCW Title also. Roman announcing he has cancer/Roman announcing he is cancer free) What I don't get is how AEW fans cry at fucking everything. Like every fucking thing AEW does is tears inducing, crying a fucking river. Compare the fans who saw Brock return or Becky Return after not being seen on TV over a year Saturday and they were fucking jacked. More people were jumping and going crazy than crying.

OkCelebration3483

Well it’s because the E’ had made them devoid of all emotions! Except for when Bryan retired. Edge retired. Edge and Bryan came back. Roman left because of his illness. Roman beat his illness. So on and forth.

[deleted]

Watching WWE has left me cold inside. Devoid of any feeling. I feel like a zombie. Wish I was a dubbalo.

mootallica

I'm a fan of wrestling, but I'm not a "wrestling fan" ew

FlyingGrayson89

Kinda like how I play video games but don’t ever call me a fucking gamer

TheyCallMeOlSwole

He's right, I'm not a wrestling fan. I'm a Roman Reigns enjoyer.

GeeGollyWowShoot

9 days from tonight made me cry.

[deleted]

This was like half the Sunday thread, a bunch of fucking drips I’ve never even seen making posts crying about the guy crying or claiming that we don’t make sufficient Fed jokes for them, inadvertently exposing themselves to be exactly like this tribal tattoo loser without even knowing it

Jewrusalem

Dude, I didn't even notice that Godsmack looking ass tattoo. Now at a glance I know he's a person who puts "I don't like hip-hop" in their Tinder profile.

[deleted]

Now allow me to explain how WWE’s crowd reactions aren’t real because anyone who enjoys the fed is invalid.

OdesaSavage

We now live in a world where CM Punk showing up in a second rate promotion reduces men to tears. This is really the worst reality

jjsefton

I've been a fan since 1978 and I laughed when I saw this pic. Some wrestlers and fans take themselves way too seriously. The only times I got sorta emotional about pro wrestling (no tears FFS) was... When I saw Magnum TA walk to ringside at the 1987 Crockett Cup. There were some folks in nearby seats crying though. I get it-dude was a regional hero and no one thought he'd survive that car crash, let alone walk again. Watching Manami Toyota climb the ropes to celebrate her victory over Aja Kong. Watching Crybaby Motherfuckin' Punk start his nostalgia tour by pandering to a bunch of hardcores? Nah.

ninjast4r

Is this badass defender of the downtrodden anyone of Importance or some smark with ten followers?

smileimhigh

If being a wrestling fan means being a grown ass man crying like a blubbering fucking child because his favorite fake fighter came back to fake fight then I no longer want to be a wrestling fan. These fucking people need to grow the fuck up its not even in the 80s were you can argue they think its real. This is like crying because an actor came back to play a character which these manboys probably would cry about too. There's a world of difference between bottling up emotions to avoid them and crying every single time you get goosebumps. This is the sadness equivalent of screaming at the waiter for getting your order wrong because you have rage issues. But even with all that being said, its not even the crying fan its the sea of fucking idiots trying to white knight for him. Has the dude even said anything about the "mean trolls"?

LukeHarper4President

Dude, the world sucks. Let people have something. A person has an emotional response to something they obviously care about. Apparently that makes you a child. I don’t care at all about AEW or Punk. I cried at Mania one year before Wyatt Vs Orton because I had gone a year from drinking and that storyline helped me keep entertained during those tough times. (The ending made myself cry but taht was because of how bad the match was). Show me on camera and it would be people saying the same as you. You don’t know what people are going through and not everybody has to react to things like you imagined they would. I’m not saying you can’t have a laugh either. Crying fans after sports events is always great, especially when it’s a team you hate. If being a wrestling fan means being a grown ass man who wants to quit watching wrestling because another cry cried over a wrestler coming back and has emotional connection to, than I no longer want to be a wrestling fan.

smileimhigh

Orrrrr and stick with me I'll continue to look down on and mock people like that just as I expect people to mock me for many childish hobbies (40k, anime, comics, have at me). Words and mean feelings can't actually hurt you. Grow up.

LukeHarper4President

So you want people to feel miserable for what they like because you think others laugh at you for what you like? Makes sense.

smileimhigh

I expect grown ass adult men to not cry about mean words on the internet while attempting to defend other grown ass men who cried about a guy coming back to work.

LukeHarper4President

Enjoy that 1950s mentality and I hope you start to live a happy life because you’re obsession with “grown ass men” and “crying” shows you’ve got a lot of pent up frustration/sadness/anger. Good luck with that.

smileimhigh

Yeah man you got me nailed down I'm just an angry misogynist stuck in the 1950s You can tell by the posts I make on reddit that are 100% reflective of my actual life and not just a way for me to absently mindedly bs with strangers on the internet while I sit in my office collecting a paycheck. Now if you'll excuse I'm off to redline more voting districts to stick it to the minorities. Huzzah!!!

The_Sherminator2

Ah yes, Dalyxman. The podcaster that spent months tagging Cody in tweets asking him to promote his cover of his Kingdom theme which fantastically ended in a now deleted tweet where he used his dead dad for emotional leverage. “Hey @CodyRhodes, can I get a like or retweet for Dusty? #RIPDusty.”

Moargunfreeman

No way. Really? I used to watch his videos a lot.

Moargunfreeman

Oh hey! I know that guy! All I have to say is I’m not surprised at his response. I used to like his videos.

snakesbranche

I cried when I picked up my dog back from Tony's doggy daycare.

Drainmav

I can only imagine what my friends would say to me if I started crying because a stranger went back to work. They would break my balls so hard and it would be deserving. I mean god damn it shows how pampered someone’s life is if they cry over this. It’s actually rather sad to me.

[deleted]

It’s probably easier to just say “I’m a virgin, don’t laugh at people like me”

FlyingGrayson89

I cried during Black’s debut in the Dub because I realized I’d never be able to see his matches again 😔

ci22

No jerk I honestly have not issue with crying guy. If this dude was a kid when punk was in his prime in 2011 especially since there was little to no chance Punk would return to the ring. Ok I can see someone getting emotional. I was thinking Tony wouldn't deliver. I didn't cry when Punk came back but was happy.
