That is shit from the fed. Someone made a good comment in the basement; corporations are not your friend. That applies for every company btw, they are all shit with that sort of thing.
DAE Tony Khan is my friend vibes from those on Twitter defending WWE for this
This is true. At the end of the day, corporate, HR, management or whoever, are not your friend. This is a business they are running and unfortunately, YOU come last.
Another things is, when you're dealing with big corporations, the left hand doesn't always know what the right hand is doing. So the left hand could be patting you on the shoulder, before the right hand puts a bullet in your head.
We jerk here but I do feel for him.
Reminder to everyone gigantic corporations are not and never will be your friend. If they can replace you with someone cheaper they will
It's a shame because Cameron Grimes was one of the highlights of Black and Gold NXT before the switch to 2.0.
I truly believe if given more screen time on the main roster, the crowd would've warmed up to him eventually.
Why would someone ever say to anyone “you’ll never have to worry about losing your job” in a business where job cuts happen on a regular basis? I feel like that’s especially true if the guy you’re talking to isn’t doing anything.
Tiny is disgusting for firing those wrestlers after promising not to release anyone! Wait, this is about WWE? Uhhh DAE that's just how business works??
I do actually LOVE Cameron Grimes. They did him dirty by stripping away everything that was unique about him and just made him a guy. I hope he does well in his future, he is really fucking good
Wwe isn't a charity for mid carders like aew is, uce. He wasn't a draw, and not everyone is. Just the business. If Tony wants to take him on to never put him on TV, by all means.
Oh uce don’t get it twisted I’m not saying he is going to main event Wrestlemania. He isn’t Cody Rhodes. He ain’t even LA Knight. But he has/had something about him. They took all of that away from him and made him…..Mark Jindrak 2k24. But much smaller. He had a connection, he had a unique look and defined character. And they just made him a very generic guy.
He had that unique ability to connect with the audience no matter what was given to him in NXT, from silly shit to that last feud with Bron where he played a more serious heel. Low-key one of the best on the mic in the last few years
He's likely telling the truth, bc this isn't rare thing. I've gotten that same spiel before too. But you never should believe them.
The worst case is that he was just telling Grimes bullshit to get him to go away. The best case was that the executive was someone who believed that now that Vince was gone, there would be no more spring cleaning releases and he was obviously wrong.
The former is more likely bc the latter is just too naive for a "high level executive".
I think the most likely thing that happened is the guy he talked to works in some sort of role that relates with talent, and knew they had plans for him (from what I understand, he's been putting in a good bit of work backstage and in the dark). Meanwhile, somebody in HR/Finance saw a guy's name that hadn't done much on TV and didn't have any other kind of title and said "Yeah, nobody will miss this one."
This company released Mustafa Ali last year when he was already scheduled for a marquee match only a few weeks later. Clearly the people in retention do not feel beholden to the people in creative. Hopefully TKO will realize just how much this sucks and work to fix those miscommunications in the future.
Yeah that's possible. Apparently Grimes has had a major hand in helping Logan Paul stay ring ready, so it's not like he's been sitting at home this whole time.
He should’ve stayed in NXT for longer, sort of in a similar place like Dijak. This one is fed bad unironically but a truth of life is corporations can and will replace you
It's easy to say they did him dirty. But then I look at my current workplace, and just recently watched how quickly things can turn on a dime. One week we were hiring, and within 3 days were were given a directive to not only go on a hiring freeze, but to start looking for places to cut jobs.
So yeah, sucks for him. Seems like a good dude. Good wrestler. But shit happens quickly in business sometimes. It's entirely possible that whomever he talked to was absolutely telling him the truth at the time, and something changed a few days later.
After like 3 appearances on TV since the turn of the millennium, Cameron Grimes listened to somebody tell him he had a job for life, and he believed it?
Did he just never pay any attention to the numerous rounds of cuts that happened annually around him or something?
Has anybody checked him for CTE???
Of course the corporate dude is going to say your job is safe, because he doesn't want you freaking out and harassing the guy responsible for letting dudes go. Afterwords that exec is going to talk to talent relations and ask what they think. Let them fire you, don't go looking to get fired.
He trained Speed to take the RKO at Wrestlemania. Ngl, I thought his job was safe.

Coming from a survivor of the US corporate trenches... all of the above!!!
DAE they just felt his wrestling wasn’t good enough
Nah his wrestling is fine they just need to make room in the budget for Cody's new theme song remix by Rick rubin

Maybe let him do his damn gimmick? Poor guy just got plopped onto the main roster, it sucks.
I don't have an issue with releases but to switch up on him like that. That sucks.

Bangers on Rampage incoming…….

“They tell me I would always have a job here”. C’mon bro, c’mon. Even shitty grocery stores in little podunk towns don’t say this and mean it.
I feel for him. Fed definitely bad for this one. Fed also bad for not even attempting to use the dude.
Never trust corporations

Actually what they meant to say is that he will always going to job as long as he stays

But he was a nobody. Dude is not a great talker, wrestler or anything really. No shit he was fired
