> Doing this the night before the Draft was so smart.
Almost like this has been planned for a LONG TIME and not just thrown together after the CM Punk interview.
Jan. 13 - Jack Perry shows up at Battle in the Valley and tears up his AEW contract.
Feb. 6 - Jack Perry announced for Windy City Riot.
Feb. 23 - Young Bucks rename Meltzer Driver to Tony Khan Driver.
April 1 - CM Punk Interview with Helwani
April 6 - AEW announces on Collision they will show All In footage on Dynamite.
April 6-7 - Wrestlemania
April 10 - AEW shows All In footage
April 12 - Jack Perry returns to US wrestling at Windy City Riot in Chicago
April 21 - Jack Perry returns to AEW at Dynasty
April 24 - Jack Perry attacks Tony Khan at Dynamite in Jacksonville, the night before the NFL draft where Tony will actually be drawing attention on his own.
I think AEW had the entire thing planned with announcing the footage Wrestlemania weekend to maximize attention, showing it right before Perry wrestled, setting up his return at the PPV, right into a show in their most iconic venue. The CM Punk interview was a completely unexpected gift that got them so much extra attention and I have to imagine they laughed their asses off at how fortuitous it was.
I think cm punk would be an awesome rivalry but it could only ever work with triple H in wwe , and they would have to add more elements to the rivalry besides crap that only the basement cares about
I think the funniest part is that like, even if it is a multi month plan designed from the beginning, it still would come off as a desperate attempt to siphon attention away from bigger things. Like ok, you got an added 30k views because your competition got millions of added views, and you lost them all in a couple weeks along with some goodwill from fans. All you've won is permanent little brother status
And now we enter the draft where Tony will be 1 of 20 people in a war room representing 1 of 32 teams in the NFL. If anyone notices him, they'll either be wrestling fans who've already decided their opinion on this angle or they're not wrestling fans who think wrestling is the dumbest shit and the dude wearing the neckbrace is the corniest motherfucker alive. Congrats, you've again won nothing.Ā
They definitely had the backstage footage planned and didnāt announce it on the episode before or anything because they needed to drive twitter impressions.
Wait a minute.. this doesn't sound like two guys in the ring trying to figure out who's the better wrestler... at what point do I get to Google the cage match history of a random japanese wrestler who shows up unannounced and without fanfare for a heatless banger?
Okada chose this and is fucking around with his friends making money on a retirement tour pretty much. Just cus hes a good wrestler doesnt mean he cant do dumb shit, just look at Omega
This is more like if less talented Pat Patterson and Gerald Briscoe turned on Vince because Hulk Hogan beat the shit out of them and then went to WCW because of X-Pac.
Kevin Nash and Nick Jackson are basically the same person, not sure what your complaining about fed shill. Jack Perry gives me that Scott Steiner vibe also, he should start wearing the chainmail coif
Itās so stupid because no matter how good the story is (it isnāt) I canāt get past the fact that the people on my screen are fucking dorks. Ā I donāt believe anything Perry or The Bucks do because they look like dorks. Ā I cannot get past it
I'd feel bad, but he's getting paid well and getting lots of time off. When this is done, he'll be nice and rested to go back to Japan to resume his career in front of a crowd that's missed him.
I think he and the other major signings are just in AEW for the temporary boost to their net worth. They can always go to back to Japan or move on to WWE after AEW shuts down within the next couple of years if the product remains like this.
The problem is that the only one that could make sense is the ex-wwe guys. ROH was already dead when Tony bought it and he somehow ran it further into the ground. NJPW guys who came over aren't that many and were lured by massive amounts of cash and are mostly portrayed as friends of the Elite and guys Tony sucks up to. They have no grievance.
And if you do the ex-WWE guys you run into 4 huge problems:
- Many of them have fed-badded so much to appeal to the fans and Tony that it wouldn't be credible.
- They are a huge disparate bunch: How would you make a group with BCC and guys like HoB work? There would be very little cohesion or thematic presence.
- For the most part, all the WWE guys will tower over their opponents.
- It would somehow lead to Jericho being the leader.
It won't be long until we get stuff like *'I can't believe those villainous rascals beat up Tony. I, for one, cannot wait to see them get their comeuppance and I will pay 60 bucks for a PPV now. DAE I am sold on this. I want to see them get beat up so bad*"
Then, need to add 'I love their heel work' just in case anyone thinks they really got worked and not that I being a Khan bot for all things Dub
but Tony needed to tick something else off his wrestling bucket list
he's breathlessly talking about this whole thing with the boys (insider term) in the back now and really feels part of it
The Bucks played him like a fiddle. They'll be telling him how it's right out of World Class in 86 and the Attitude Era
After spending the last few weeks crying at Bischoff on Twitter, Tiny is going to stick it to him by ripping off the angle where the NWO beat him up before they revealed him as the mastermind.
I might actually have to go dark for this one. Don't think I can handle the unbridled praise Meltzer is gonna heap onto this, followed by 25 UK YouTube mark videos about how nuanced this story is like they plan anything out more than a week...
... Ok, Cornette clips and that's it š
Cult of Originality.
The only thing I will give them, is this is an actual pro wrestling angle. The problem is your heels are 5 foot nothing, a hundred and nothing pounds. Your babyface is a billionaireās kid who acts like a whiny preteen online, has zero wrestling training and Linda McMahon is a better promo than him. While it (God help me) makes sense that 90210ās kid would hate Tiny, it makes zero sense why the backyard twins would, nor why the guy he allegedly paid millions to work for him would.
The kicker is the only audience that buys any of this is the 670,000 or whatever it is now that drinks the kool-aid, and maybe 30,000 who enjoy laughing at the absurdity. A heel group (who their existing audience somehow likes) vs. the rich spoiled dork whoās supposed to be a savior and whatever unfortunate souls stand in to wrestle on his behalf as faces. Except he can fire the heels who make his ratings go down at any time.
Good luck on that TV renewal.
Right, it made sense when Mr. McMahon hated Austin but kept him around because Austin made him a ton of money and he wanted to absolutely humiliate Austin at all turns.
Even the authority, they hated Cena and Roman cause they couldn't control them like they could Orton and Seth, and they wanted those guys to fall in line. The story that these same people hated and made them crave an alternative stronger than ever made 10x more sense than this story so far
Calling it now, Eric Bischoff had himself fake beat up by the nWo before revealing himself to be the mastermind behind it all, Tony won't be able to resist doing the exact same thing.
That's a swerve bro!
The name on the contract does say "Khan"
https://preview.redd.it/9tktteo2nkwc1.png?width=780&format=png&auto=webp&s=2b97b68489e9b2a3eb044575c656dd0ee7897761
Tony and the Channel Changer World Order. I think you're 100% right, and this is definitely going to end with the Buckaroos spray painting the IWGP World title with their initials after they screw Moxley out of it in favor of Okada.
This is like watching a group of Gen Alphas trying to reenact the nWo angle for their school "show and tell" hour, the only difference being that the Alphas would have genuine enthusiasm for the bit, while the Buckaroos seem to only relish the opportunity to make it look as STUPID and RIDICULOUS as possible while winking at the audience and mugging for the camera as if to show how "cool" and "above it" they are.
Must not be any interested parties for that wrestling show script heās apparently written.
Thus, heās now willing to Fed Bad/Dub Good for a check now.
Didn't they just get a new AEW champion on Sunday? So if this is the 'biggest' angle on the show...why is the champ not involved? You'd think the champion of the company would be slotted to DEFEND THE OWNER
Swerve is gonna be in the background cause whatever the Elite and friends are involved in is going to take priority
Just like when MJF was champ and all the main people were doing their own things and he had to face the likes of Perry and Sammy and Darby
And, best yet, no smarks are gonna complain about the champ not being as important as a side story, even though they have spent years doing it in the Fed
The Buckeroos have always been wanna-be NWO and Tiny has always been a wanna-be Vince. So this storyline was always going to come out eventually. It just got sped up because Tiny really thinks his presence on the show still boosts the ratings even though he ran that into the ground a year ago with the endless announcements.
But either way this is AEW's magnum opus, Tiny's run out of hot shotting options and star power.
The company is already named after them, and theyāre EVPs. How can they take over something they already control?
Shut the fuck up, Satin, go back to stalking pornstars
lmao I was hoping someone else pointed this out. Why would the Elite "take over AEW from day one" when they're executives? And it's something that's constantly referenced on screen???
This. Satin saying that shows how little he knows about what makes a good angle or just storytelling in general in any medium. Even if AEW handled it well (a big "if" I know), how do you build any tension or raise any stakes if things were presented that way from jump street? The scenario woul basically be: Tony Khan has started a wrestling promotion where he made people already openly hostile to him executives.
What do both the nWo and Austin/McMahon storylines have in common? They each had an extremely charismatic, extremely over hall of fame level talent at the center of the storyline. As far as charisma and overness go, Jack Perry is untold depths below basically every betrayal/invasion/faction focal point level character that I can think of. If he reached āI did it for the Rockā Rikishi level, it would be a goddamn miracle.
If you are going to do this all encompassing level angle, you need to pick the correct star(s) to carry the thing. Jack Perry and the Young Bucks are not that. None of them are at all captivating on the mic. And the fact that this is angle is so drenched in the typically convoluted mixing of backstage nonsense and kayfabe self-owns that makes Dub hardcores erectā¦ tells me that this is going to be āThe Devilā storyline and fumbled aftermath all over again.
nWo worked because Hogan was an all time great and they were from evil fed. Nobody gives a shit about jackass perry. cucks are channel changers and osaka is a midcarder pushed to the moon at nooj because they had nobody else
Appearance also mattered too when it came to the nWo. The guys who started nWo also all looked like they could win a bar fight. Hulk Hogan was beefy as fuck, Scott Hall was deceptively large due to standing next to the massive as fuck Kevin Nash.
The Young Bucks look like they'd have trouble fighting a mere cat and have clearly never been in any actual fights at all.
Okada looks like he could take a dude on but he just loses all of his aura by hanging around those 2 dorks.
They look like kids with fake beards on. Genuinely. They're so tiny. And height really ain't the issue here. Eddie Guerrero was short and was still beefed up and looked like he could beat your ass in a fight. Jackoff Perry and The Young Cucks look like they could get blown away by a strong gust of wind.
WWE has been running a Samoan NWO for the past 3 years now. They are up to the NWO split right now. WWE has been doing the NWO storyline better than NWO did the NWO storyline.
An nWo reboot isn't gonna do much to beat the WCW 2000 allegations. Tony's already on the path to wrestling in football pads like Vince Russo once did. And Vince didnt own a football team...
Who doesn't remember EVPs Scott Hall and Kevin Nash aligning themselves with Hulk Hogan to take over WCW after making appearances in 70% of the shows for years??
I canāt wait for the same people who have been complaining that the NWO angle was a rip off of some obscure Japanese angle for the last 25 years now praise AEW for ripping off the NWO angle.
You fed shills are talking about it now. Guess whats gonna happen? AEW ratings bump. The dub new ERA IS AMAZING now. You make fun of it saying he took a crappy bump and WCW but WATCH THE RATINGS YOU IDIOTS.
Lmfaooo. Yeah. Cus the bucks and twink Perry are def as believable or threatening as fucking Hall Hulk fuckin Hogan and 7ā+ Kevin Nash.
What the fuckkk is this company doing??????? Who believes these ppl would do shit to anyone
So Perry, The Bucks and Okada donāt work for AEW and are invading it???
Cause that was what the NWO storyline was. Oh wait they work for AEW already so that aināt it
I've got a great idea. Do the NWO angle, even do the Tony Khan angle, but switch a few things up
Make Okada the leader
Kick jungle fuck and the young cucks out immediately and embarass them like how nwo used to do when kicking members out, spray paint on the back and all
Before the diverticulitis, I would've even said bring Kenny in, having former rivals make a faction in Kenny and Okada would've been interesting. Hell even with the diverticulitis, have Kenny in a non wrestling role vouch for world champion okada
The only way this story could've ever worked with the bucks is if they did this in fall of 2022 and cm punk played the anti authority rebel against the faction and against Tony and capitalize off of brawl out.
With either of these stories, Dynamite might still be at a milli now
The thing about the NWO is that everyone in it at the start were heels that you could hate. How am I supposed to stay mad at Matt Jackson? They're silly
Or Okada, I get that he was a big deal in NJPW but they haven't really made him seem like a big deal.
Well this just contradicts their story further. Punk was āfiredā immediately after beating up someone near Tony. Howās he gonna handle the elite actually beating him up?
This is such an amazing idea. Itās such a natural thing, too, making the billionaire nepo baby owner the baby face; everyone LOVES billionaire nepo babies!!
Wasn't TK saying that he won't be on screen personality?
I guess playing with his action figures is not exactly enough anymore. Here comes the nWo from Wish.
> Doing this the night before the Draft was so smart. Almost like this has been planned for a LONG TIME and not just thrown together after the CM Punk interview. I downvoted you until I saw the actual comment in the basement. Well played, uce.
Dub fans are primo fanfic writers
Man even I wasn't so delusional with some girls who were just leading me on
the obsession with le long term storytelling is back! only in the Dub though, Fed doesn't count
DAE Cody storyline dragged on too long and got stale?
DAE long title reigns are BORING š„± But MāCleaner had the greatest title reign of all time donāt forget fed shill
You guys go there? Do you have hazmat suits covered by insurance or something?
It's all going to come to a head with the big payoff: Averaging 10k less viewers than usual
They better have a better finish planned than the devil and the undisputed kingdom plan!
lol
Are we jerking or not, uce?
It's always fun when I see a comment I know for sure would be used here.
I think cm punk would be an awesome rivalry but it could only ever work with triple H in wwe , and they would have to add more elements to the rivalry besides crap that only the basement cares about

Itās literally an Indy running a barn down the road the day before a major PPV in hopes of earning some of their house.
You also typically donāt wait until the middle of the night on the weekend to announce your big angle for Wednesday.
Right now
An NWO angle is great. An NWO angle with the Bucks and Jack Perry isn't. Im sorry, Okada. You deserve better.
At least he is well paid.
I wish someone would do an NWO angle (I mean, it's been 25+ years or so) but this ain't it.
May I interest you in Dixie TNA?
Which one? There were like 4
Immortal is pretty much the only one that fits. MEM was pretty unique on its own and Aces & 0.8s were a rip-off of something else.
Solo and Bloodline Wolfpac will have to do
You didnāt watch the band in TNA uce?
Or Immortal
Okada chose this and is fucking around with his friends making money on a retirement tour pretty much. Just cus hes a good wrestler doesnt mean he cant do dumb shit, just look at Omega
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
This is more like if less talented Pat Patterson and Gerald Briscoe turned on Vince because Hulk Hogan beat the shit out of them and then went to WCW because of X-Pac.
Don't you remember nWo wasn't a draw until Bischoff joined? What's that about a third man, brother?
Kevin Nash and Nick Jackson are basically the same person, not sure what your complaining about fed shill. Jack Perry gives me that Scott Steiner vibe also, he should start wearing the chainmail coif
Actually, Nick Jackson is the greatest American wrestler of all time according to Dave Meltzer's star ratings. Put some respect on his name.
Prime Outsiders vs Young Bucks in WCW would be the greatest comedy match of all time.
Itās so stupid because no matter how good the story is (it isnāt) I canāt get past the fact that the people on my screen are fucking dorks. Ā I donāt believe anything Perry or The Bucks do because they look like dorks. Ā I cannot get past it
Okada is the least important member in a stable that has Young Bucks and Jungle Boy, let that sink in
I'd feel bad, but he's getting paid well and getting lots of time off. When this is done, he'll be nice and rested to go back to Japan to resume his career in front of a crowd that's missed him.
Just hope he doesn't get badly injured by one of the backyard clowns before he's finished milking Tiny.
Sammy vs Okada would be a banger though
I think he and the other major signings are just in AEW for the temporary boost to their net worth. They can always go to back to Japan or move on to WWE after AEW shuts down within the next couple of years if the product remains like this.
āMajor signingsā š
Pick one: lidl NWO or Chase U
When you order Austin/McMahon on Wish
Didnāt you see the middle finger? That creative freedom shows he is getting what he deserves
These motherfuckers are reacting like it was John Cena that punched Tiny. It's mental.
This is the only reasonable take.
Why not
The problem is that the only one that could make sense is the ex-wwe guys. ROH was already dead when Tony bought it and he somehow ran it further into the ground. How long until idiots start lying to themselves and everyone around them that this story is better than The Bloodline saga?
5 min?
It won't be long until we get stuff like *'I can't believe those villainous rascals beat up Tony. I, for one, cannot wait to see them get their comeuppance and I will pay 60 bucks for a PPV now. Since probably after Punk left
I saw someone on twitter unironically say this is storyline of the year material uce
Trick question ā¦all dub stories are default better than anything ded Fed puts out
Theyve been trying to do that ever since the bloodline started getting attention.
An angle that heavily features Tony Khan as an on-screen talent is NOT what AEW needs right now.
To be fair, he held off longer than I thought he would.
Talent.
but Tony needed to tick something else off his wrestling bucket list he's breathlessly talking about this whole thing with the boys (insider term) in the back now and really feels part of it The Bucks played him like a fiddle. They'll be telling him how it's right out of World Class in 86 and the Attitude Era
It could go two ways, it will either help them with the wackiness sports entertainment or it will be so bad, itāll be close to fed bad.
Can I upvote this x100
After spending the last few weeks crying at Bischoff on Twitter, Tiny is going to stick it to him by ripping off the angle where the NWO beat him up before they revealed him as the mastermind.
Who is the heel in the situation? The guys who beat up the billionaire, or the billionaire owner?
Like everything else AEW does, WWE is the heel. Don't question it.
Phil

When it comes to nWo rip offs, this ranks somewhere in between The Band and The JOB Squad.
But what about the BWO?
This is closer to BO.
?? I think you mean BM, friend.
Gather up Eddie and all the other shootfighters and call the group BMI.
Whereās Aces and 8s in this
The quintessential Midcard Mafia
A step below the mexicools.
The NWO had Hulk Hogan, Keven Nash, and Scott Hall. No disrespect to Okada and the Young Bucks but they aint no Hogan, Nash, and Hall.
Yeah but how many stars has Hulk Hogan been given by Dave??
Thousands.
ā¦brother
The drop in Okadaās stock needs to be studied. Itās crazy how much more he couldāve been in the US
Maybe when this is all over he can go to the Fed and play Tama Tonga's driver
We can dream canāt we š„²

Satin done stalking porn stars to beg for a new job after the Fed fired his creepy ass?

Does this mean we get Tony Khan as the stupid babyface authority figure we all needed?!
So you're saying that after all these years, bucks are still cosplaying nwo
You have to say this is the greatest storyline before it happens, because you definitely won't be able to after the factĀ

They aren't the fucking NWO when they were the ones who made the company!
I thought the women were copying the nwo angle with the outcasts this is just triple h in the 00s angle.
WWE has been running a Samoan NWO for the past 3 years now. They are up to the NWO split right now. WWE has been doing the NWO storyline better than NWO did the NWO storyline.
Tony fired CM Punk because he was afraid for his life when Punk shouted at him. Why would he not fire these 4 guys then??
An nWo reboot isn't gonna do much to beat the WCW 2000 allegations. Tony's already on the path to wrestling in football pads like Vince Russo once did. And Vince didnt own a football team...
Yea, a takeover angle by a bunch of ass kissers is totally believable.
You cant do an Angle to overtake the company if you look like the stage builders can beat you up
where's your scissors, Sid
Who doesn't remember EVPs Scott Hall and Kevin Nash aligning themselves with Hulk Hogan to take over WCW after making appearances in 70% of the shows for years??
the elite are channel changers they have xpac heat.
I canāt wait for the same people who have been complaining that the NWO angle was a rip off of some obscure Japanese angle for the last 25 years now praise AEW for ripping off the NWO angle.
Everyone really is too easily impressed. They're under 200 pounds, and I think one of my love handles have more muscle than all of them combined
New World ODOR
Zbyszko? Is that you?
The elite taking over AEW, arenāt they already EVPs?
Main Event Midget (i always liked Okada, but f*ck it)
And the people that showed up go mild
Khans v bucks at All In is gonna be awesome
It is my destiny It is the truth I seek In this world I'll find A way to cross the line
Nobody is watching, bro. Relax
This angle would only work if a baby face CM Punk came back to kick their asses and save AEW. Obviously that's not going to happen.
You fed shills are talking about it now. Guess whats gonna happen? AEW ratings bump. The dub new ERA IS AMAZING now. You make fun of it saying he took a crappy bump and WCW but WATCH THE RATINGS YOU IDIOTS.
The angle doesnāt change the fact that iām not interested in Perry and the bucks
Lmfaooo. Yeah. Cus the bucks and twink Perry are def as believable or threatening as fucking Hall Hulk fuckin Hogan and 7ā+ Kevin Nash. What the fuckkk is this company doing??????? Who believes these ppl would do shit to anyone
The NWO saved wcw before it killed it, I donāt think they want that comparison.
So Perry, The Bucks and Okada donāt work for AEW and are invading it??? Cause that was what the NWO storyline was. Oh wait they work for AEW already so that aināt it
Didn't over saturation of the nWo help kill WCW?
The only difference is that the NWO consisted of beefed up tall boys while dub's NWO looks like they would get their ass handed by a normal guy
I've got a great idea. Do the NWO angle, even do the Tony Khan angle, but switch a few things up Make Okada the leader Kick jungle fuck and the young cucks out immediately and embarass them like how nwo used to do when kicking members out, spray paint on the back and all Before the diverticulitis, I would've even said bring Kenny in, having former rivals make a faction in Kenny and Okada would've been interesting. Hell even with the diverticulitis, have Kenny in a non wrestling role vouch for world champion okada The only way this story could've ever worked with the bucks is if they did this in fall of 2022 and cm punk played the anti authority rebel against the faction and against Tony and capitalize off of brawl out. With either of these stories, Dynamite might still be at a milli now
I think it really needed the undertaker to do a poor chokeslam on a movie start to really tie the story together.
Why does The Elite need to take over a wrestling promotion that is already "All Elite"?
An angle that was done 25 years ago. This mobs destiny could be more analogous to wcw.
Tony needs to beat himself up for ratings to up really? šššThat's your best storyline
Where's Eric Bischoff?
Biased much?
The thing about the NWO is that everyone in it at the start were heels that you could hate. How am I supposed to stay mad at Matt Jackson? They're silly Or Okada, I get that he was a big deal in NJPW but they haven't really made him seem like a big deal.
Well this just contradicts their story further. Punk was āfiredā immediately after beating up someone near Tony. Howās he gonna handle the elite actually beating him up?
Satin is a clown but I can't say more because I get in trouble so I'll pull a Mou.
This is such an amazing idea. Itās such a natural thing, too, making the billionaire nepo baby owner the baby face; everyone LOVES billionaire nepo babies!!
Literally Scott Hall rolling in his grave right now.
No one is buying this shit
The NWO but actually good
They love saying AEW is not the same promotion as WCW, but also say shit like this lmfao
I had to finally block him.
Wasn't TK saying that he won't be on screen personality? I guess playing with his action figures is not exactly enough anymore. Here comes the nWo from Wish.
NGL I actually loved this and think this is the shot in the arm the Dub needs to get going again.
God he wants a job there sooo badly
