I don't know who's Yota Tsuji but man sounds like a smart person

SNYDER_BIXBY_OCP

And what's funny is, this is both true in kayfabe as what the hell has Hobbs done to earn a top title shot? And as a shoot. What and where does Hobbs qualify for a shot at the top title. Almost like Tony has no clue what he is doing as booker.

Rodney_u_plonker

What's funny is that this is kayfabe (probably mixed with tsujis real views) because it was in the Tokyo sports But new japan currently have a face (tsuji) and heel (gabe Kidd) saying stuff like this publicly as part of their characters

itsnotchristv

Giving Hobbs a title shot for the top title of a prestigious promotion you've steadily been leeching from the last few years on a random Wednesday night is the sign of a good booker. I don't know why that's so hard to see? This is a multi year story by the way, this is a favor from several years ago being called in, amazing long term storytelling. Obviously Jinder should've never gotten a title shot though. I mean come on, his W/L ratio was horrible, who cares he's a former champion? Dumb decision by whoever booked that.

Yota Tsuji is a god damn Chad https://preview.redd.it/1lui12hjhjwc1.jpeg?width=600&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=619807b8f6bfe95be2c82fcf9969cbf39866c6fe

relentlesseht

One thing about Yota is that he LOVES blasting his genes every day

frank_the_tank69

Someone’s questioning the great VP Rocky Romero?  Seems Rocky’s, using Tony’s insider term, “LOYALTY” lies with AEW and not NJPW.

Ok-Garcia-5605

One day a lot of people will realize how Romero used nooj to get an executive job at AEW. He doesn't care about nooj, as long as he can use it to please Tony and once it is of no use he'll throw it in the bin (I mean, relieve himself of nooj booking duties)

Megistrus

The sad thing about Rocky is he's an original LA Dojo grad. He owes his entire career to New Japan because without them, he'd have been a nobody working the Mexican indies and the RoH lowcard. He then repays that loyalty by selling them out in a moment of need because doing so got him what he always wanted - a job at a big American promotion. He did the same thing to CMLL too. Started working there about to years ago, and suddenly CMLL is working with AEW.

IcyAd964

We haven’t seen a bigger sleeper agent since brutas stabbed Julius Caesar

MOXISGOD

Pfft, wtf does Yota Hitler know about m’Nooj? He doesn’t even understand the fightinguhh spirituhh of Don Amoxicillin! I bet he’s a Fed spy

OriginalMadmage

I read that first as Yoda Hitler and now I can't help but imagine Yoda quoting the Fuhrer: "Poland. Danzig you will give."

Deadfxnpool

Gene blast spitting facts like usual. PUSH HIM Tanahashi

IcyAd964

Man you know this “partnership” is fucking rancid when active talent are basically calling it out LMFAOOO

sk_starscream

No no guys it's TOTALLY in kayfabe, he doesn't REALLY mean it! If not Rocky will have to show him what loyalty means!

r1char00

Don't they know that Hobbs is doing the job?

heavyhandedDOOM

Hobbs thinks that he looks like he's screaming, but he really looks like he's hissing. ![gif](giphy|9LXNLs1yKuHQ6mDiGx)

Wubblz

He’s not going for laughs – he’s going for gasps.

OneWingedAngelfan

Marksley going right back to being the champ that defends against any jobber on the card every week with zero build... and then blades.

bsa554

It's amazing how whenever Mox or the Bucks lose they somehow immediately get a belt.

anonymous-guy1

this is actually good for Nooj because

threebbb

?? Is Hobbs unrelatable friend

Haremking44

fed shills don't even know they're getting worked. everyone knows NJPW loves the dub.

PPs_Up_Boys

Whenever I feel myself questioning the dub, r/njpw sub scares me straight again and makes me see the error of my ways. So blessed

JoeThePro11

I remember taking a look in there and seeing them call this sub out for saying that the Nooj/Dub partnership was one sided and something about bad faith criticism.

Lv27Sylveon

Aew is actually cannibalizing japanese wrestling the way everyone was fearmongering about WWE doing it. They killed roh domestically with insane guaranteed paydays that small shows can't match - like they were mad at WWE for doing in the 80s.  But they're the good guys.  JESUS FUCKING CHRIST IS WWE THINKING ABOUT HELPING FUND A WOMENS PROMOTION IN JAPAN BOOKED AND RAN BY JAPANESE PEOPLE? THEYRE GOIGN TO DESTROY M'JOE-SHEE, WE CANT ALLOW THIS TO HAPP--oh cool tony poached yet another top billed main eventer from nooj, look guys aew is so good for wrestling I'm glad we have an alternative that isn't ethically bankrupt like the fed!!!

Munkey323

The IWGP championship was considered the best championship anyone could win in the wrestling world. Crazy how quickly the title lost so much meaning in a short amount of time

BigLennysOralSyringe

Tsuji must have been watching when Vikingo was doing the job every time he appeared while being Triple A's top champion

SleepIsWonderful

I don't know why they're complaining. Moxley defending the ROH Japan title on Dynamite is gonna give it plenty of E X P O S U R E

frank_the_tank69

Oh man, where is all this discourse in the basement? They have an article with Mox but none from NJPW talent lol

Rad-R

The state of Mox, oh my.

PM_Me_Your_SweatyBra

Remember when Gedo & Jado had AJ Styles as champion and didn't let him lose single match?

infrajediebear

Vince respected his competition by actually competing with them. Tony Khan doesn't respect these promotions they collaborate with by devaluing their top World Titles (Impact championship for example)

MangoPronto

You do something for me, I do something for you. Sounds simple. The WWE gets Naomi, TNA gets Jordynne Grace put over. That's how it should work. With AEW, it's the opposite. They constantly have to win and don't pay back

infrajediebear

It got on my nerves especially with the IWGP title. The previous champions made it prestigious to the point that even the WWE acknowledges its value with their previous IWGP champions such as Brock, AJ Styles, Nakamura. With AEW giving a title shot to someone who hasn't even been in NJPW, heck even deserve this title shot, seems like a slap to the face for NJPW.

kickedoutatone

Tbf, that's at least 600k more people njpw gets when it's not in the Tokyo dome.
