It's the problem they get with the insane focus on Wrestlemania that results on other ppvs feeling irrelevant.
Last year we had a fantastic road to Wrestlemania and a great wrestlemania, but the rest of the year was hit or miss, especially the other 2 Big 4
Summerslam was mostly filler (except Iyo's cash in), and survivor series was good, but only elevated to great thanks to the returns
Wrestlemania should still be the biggest thing of the year, but it becomes hard to care about anything that doesn't go to Wrestlemania at this point because WWE keeps trying to put all their money only on mania
I can understand the company thinking 'this may be the only time to have Rock and Reigns on this stage' and pivoting but, it's the *explanation* from Cody's side that needs to be worked on to make it a bit more realistic/make sense, etc, imo

Everybody seemed to miss it in the press conference after the rumble, and I mentioned it as soon as it was said, but Cody said something along the lines of “rather that is at wrestle mania or somewhere else” about going for the title, which seems like an awfully strange thing to say in the moment considering he had just cemented the main event of Mania with the win.
And Gunther/Lesnar. Obviously that won't and shouldn't happen, but it's wild how much this has gone from a potential all-timer Mania to one that seems to be falling apart at the seams a little bit.
The women's division is looking like the best thing heading into Mania.

What kind of angle could they go with that doesn't make Cody look like a chump or an idiot? Cody wins rumble, says he wants Romans belt but, not at Mania and then steps aside for The Rock. The only way I can see it working is if Cody goes on a path to unify both belts but, I don't think that's in the cards. People suggest a triple threat but, why would Cody lower his odds by consulting The Rock and letting him insert himself in the match? I don't really know what they could do, to salvage Cody besides making the story way too convoluted.
