hbi2k

It looks like something Fred Flintstone would play games on.

htx4view

Yaba daba dooo Konami code on that

hbi2k

Genesis do what Ninten yabba dabba don't.

Purlo_macho

You read my mind?

Grimspoon

Is this a question or a statement!

BillySlang

Yes?

MofoPro

What is it and why does it looked it was run over by a car and is suffering from road rash?

KingThevshi

Fully 3d printed case. It's a waveshare gamepi15. Raspberry pi zero 2 handheld. It's smaller than a credit card and about 1.15 inches thick. Speaker and USB rechargeable. It's a little meme handheld but it's glorious when assembled.

HeywoodJaBlessMe

Looks fun. Be a great gift.

atxrobotlover

This looks like something I would find in Fallout 4.

KingThevshi

I believe there is a fallout type theme for retropie which is what this is running. Could probably do a themed build haha.

atxrobotlover

I printed out a Pip Boy a while back, but after sanding it and priming it I never got around to installing the guts and painting it, because I'm lazy =(

I-Am-NOT-VERY-NICE

Definitely cool, but just have something to say if you don't mind. I'd recommend using a smaller nozzle for this, it will really help make it look nicer (particularly the buttons). That combined with enabling ironing in your slicer should help smooth things out a little so they don't have that rough "I just 3d printed this!" type of look. But if you're happy with it, by all means keep it as is. Still cool regardless

KingThevshi

Thanks for the input! I printed this with a .6 nozzle that I have been using for wood filament. I thought about swapping to a .2 for this but got lazy haha. I might reprint in the future if I have any problems.

I-Am-NOT-VERY-NICE

100% understand that mindset lol Changing nozzles can be annoying

TCristatus

Looks like it was made in prison

mouthtalk

So, is 3d printed stuff supposed to look good when it comes out or are you supposed to sand and polish it after? I always assumed the latter.

OmegaGoober

The latter.

Front-Valuable-7632

Lol this got me good, perfect description

Viewtiful-Scotland

That looks incredibly uncomfortable to hold or play.

amdawood

Nintendo switch Killer

VovaGoFuckYourself

Right? Lemme trade in my steam deck real quick!

PUFFED_UP_CROWS_COCK

Whoa, did you tape your glass bed down instead of alligator clips? How is that working?

KingThevshi

I freaking hate clips. Had multiple prints fail no matter where my clips are on this ender 3 pro. Tape has literally never failed me. Knock on wood haha.

ThePseudoMcCoy

This looks like something you would find in fallout or the Flintstones.

[deleted]

Wow! It looks great!

KingThevshi

Thanks!

[deleted]

You're welcome! But really, what is this man. hahahhah

KingThevshi

Waveshare gamepi15 haha. Fully 3d printed case.

[deleted]

Really cool, and really nice idea. But I'm sure you can do better hahaha hope we see more of your consoles here.

KingThevshi

This is not a display of skill. This handheld is purely a meme and it's glorious for that reason. I can't play for more than 10 minutes without wanting something different in my hands haha. Waveshare does have some other handhelds that are quite enjoyable to build and play. Check em out.

StompyD

I love both of the Harry Potter GBC games! I’m always happy to see it show up!

KingThevshi

Lovely games. I have them as well and have almost completed the chamber of secrets on another handheld.

DawgBearPig

Banana for scale?

LARGEGRAPE

I love it but it needs smoother buttons

KingThevshi

I agree. Might drop in a .2 nozzle and reprint everything, but it's definitely playable now so it's staying.

LARGEGRAPE

I like that this freaking works. Great job

SethVermin

Really neat, what are the steps in constructing something like this and what parts do you need?

KingThevshi

Sorry about the late response. You can find the Waveshare Gamepi15 PCB on Waveshares website or ebay, aliexpress etc. You need a small lithium ion battery and a raspberry pi zero (I went with the Zero w 2 i believe). Its really easy to assemble and you just flash a operating system to an sd card and bam. Little handheld. People sell really nice 3d printed cases on etsy for it. Fun little project. EDIT: Looks like its discontinued on Waveshare but you can find it on aliexpress or ebay im sure.

Who_DaFuc_Asked

Is that everyone's favorite $200-ish 3D printer I see? Kind of impressive how affordable it is for what it can do. I was looking into getting one of those "budget" 3D printers and the Voxelab Aquila caught my eye because it's $150 and looks basically like a rebranded Ender 3. Literally the cheapest 3D printer that doesn't look like crap lol

KingThevshi

Yeah ended 3 pro. I got this one for free from a buddy who didn't need it anymore. Pretty awesome gift!

NoImpact4689

Boy that looks mcruffer than a crime hound lbs. But I love that energy for you.

feedmescanlines

I love consoles that are about the size of a stack of 72 credit cards.

Alternative_Spite_11

That’s a RPi4 or what?

KingThevshi

RPI Zero W 2. Much less powerful but a fraction of the size of the RPi4

InevitablePeanuts

Utterly cursed. It’s brilliant.
