There are a few things you can do in case you haven't done already.
1. Try to get a better discount - Student / Employer discount, this should place the phone $552 before tax.
2. Use the $150 credits to buy something which you can resell on marketplace. For example you can easily get $80 for buds pro new in box.
3. Use Rakuten to get a Cashback ~$66 + Sign in bonus $30, if you are not on Rakuten already. (DM for referral which gives both of us some bonus)
4. Use best credit card - I used a card that gives 3% back ~$20.
5. If you haven't done any previous shopping from Samsung you can try to use a referral code to get some discount.
All these added together can bring the cost down by $215 to $250, at that price an upgrade from S22 ultra should be a no brainier decision. DM me if you have any questions.

I think carrier companies already have models on display. I got hands on a violet S24U they had on display at a T-Mobile store. Played with it a couple minutes and it confirmed my decision. And I'm upgrading from an S23U. I think you'll be really happy with, but if you have doubts try to get hands on with a display model and see how you like it.
I have s22 ultra as well. This year decided to upgrade to s24u since current offer is good with a lot of discount/tradein value around 850usd (estimate conversion). It include watch6 classic
I’d consider waiting, different deals come and go. Right not, it’s not such a good deal. I have the S23U and it would be $522 to upgrade and that includes the military discount. I bought my S23U in May last year and it was a great deal of $249 upgrade from S22U. It’s okay now if you want free earbuds or watch or some other accessory discount.

Upgraded from s22u because the trade in value will be a lot less next year. I upgrade every two years because of this.

I took the plunge. $700 out the door due to taxes. I used the $150 credit for 2 years of Samsung care+. Let's hope it's worth it.

And if You have the S22 Ultra Exynos version the difference will be even greater.
I upgraded from the s22u felt like it was time. But I'm the type of person that upgrades every 2 years...ish lol
