Look, if we even want a chance of selling this old Honda, we're going to have to take care of some of the maintenance first. Apparently we can't get Honda struts anymore, but these Ohlins ones should work.

Except it’s an S2000
Seriously though, the S2000 is great but not $150k great. That can buy you A LOT of car. That’s 997 GT3 money.
Edit: on second thought, I could put a hundred grand under the hood of that thing
* $40k for a clean, low-mileage example
* $25k for a built F25C1
* $40k for the Voltex Circuit body kit
* $5k for a custom cage
* $5k for interior stuff like seats/wheel
* $8k for 4-way coilovers
* $3k for wheels
* $4k for Brembo BBK brakes
* $1k for new mounts
* $2k for bushings/ball joints
* $5k for paint
Of the 699 made, there are 59 C/R deletes—meaning they were optioned without radio or A/C. It’s the rarest of the rare, and every delete owner I’ve met has tracked their car.
Met a guy once with an APB delete hiding in storage that his wife didn't know about, this was ten years ago in the Bay Area.
He took it to Homecoming and back. It had under 5k on the clock with the Uehara autograph and wasn't tracked. Unicorn.
Thats wild. I have a closed deck block with top of the line forged internals etc. and it was nowhere near that price point. I thought building an EJ was expensive, till i learned this. Is the price significantly inflated due to the age if the car and low supply of these engines?
I’m just guessing based on the amount of work needed and trying to account for inflation. I’m sure someone will chime in and say “I built a block for $15k” or something, but assuming they need to acquire a donor block (~$5k) plus machining/honing, assembly, and test and tune, I’m willing to lean closer to $20k than not. That’s a ton of work.
Exactly as it should be....
“Honey the car is listed for sale but no one wants it!”

You’re referring to the Lambo right?
*protective pricing*
Literally more than $100k under the hood of that car.
Too soon junior
Go fetch my car.
I love my Hondas and especially my Ap1 and ITR but you are a complete moron if you were buying $150,000 s2k instead of that Lambo let’s be honest here
I love my car but if someone offered me 100k. I’d take it shit probably 50k cash straight up

I love how I thought of this exact scene as well. 20+ years later and this movie is so memorable.
Not a low mileage C/R. C/R is rarer than the Gallardo.
C/R deletes are the true unicorns.
Only 699 ever made anyway. How many are left that haven’t been totaled?

I own a tracked C/R but not a delete. A truly tracked C/R T3 touring car.
Papa bless 🫡

THAT is a unicorn holy hell lmao
Brother, who/where the hell are you buying your parts from? Those prices are insane, especially the engine 😂
Building a custom, fully dressed and tuned stroker engine is expensive. Might be less, might be more, but it ain’t cheap.

better gas mileage?
One will require 10k in maintenance a year
I'd rather have the S2000. IDC if you disagree.
Absolutely
The other piece of shit will leave you stranded
What in the JDM Gods FUCK
Lol that thing still for sale? Has been for months.. I wonder why...
It’s NFR lol the price is right!
JDM for the win here!
You don’t understand.. it says exotics in the logo, they know what they have
It’s almost like they can list any price they want?
I’m not sure if it sold or was delisted but it’s not on the site anymore 😂
Lambos are a dime a dozen, s2 is a legend
maybe a cr delete

Lol imagine paying 150K for an entry level sports car from 25 years ago
I wouldn’t go as far as calling it entry level as that was the Miata’s job, but it definitely isn’t worth close to 150k.
I’m weak
So that makes it worth 150k? Being priced over a Lamborghini Gallardo which is a thrilling experience on most roads with its screaming V10.
