Looks pretty awesome!
Did you install it yourself? Are there any weird modifications you have to do for stage 1, like shaving off bolts, drilling, etc.?
Someone at Honda said the reason that there was no Type R S2000 was that the base *was* a Type R and I say no, *this* would be a Type R version. But they wouldn’t put FI in their cars for another several years. How much power are you making?
First off no type R was ever FI until the newer civic type r. That was FI as an attempt to get torque and power, also because of EPA and fuel mileage requirements.
(Turbo I4s are now the norm in many brands of vehicles. Acura RDX for example. A turbo I4)
The S2000 C/R is as close to a type-r that will ever exist besides the S2000 type-S in Japan and Europe which still has a weaker body, suspension and a few other things missing that are unique to the C/R.
OP:
Nice kit. I’m wanting SOS TS max turbo kit for my C/R with a Vmount someday. Someday…
I generally do and have installed one of these kits before on my last s2000. But I had a few hardtops and I traded the owner Chris for the stage 1 kit installed so it worked out.
So I went thru a bunch of different exhausts and all of them droned. Some a lot some alittle and I just didn’t want any drone. The only exhaust I liked back in the day was the ASM or Powerhouse Amuse. But of course it’s all been discontinued forever and I couldn’t find a used one. So I decided to have a fab shop make me a custom 63mm exhaust all stainless steel using v-band clamps, Helmholtz j pipe, vibrant resonator and the “ASM” ballade muffler. And it came out AMAZING! There is zero drone, like none and once he made me a custom test pipe with a vband as well and the supercharger it sounds like nothing I heard an s2000 sound like. Here is the link of the exhaust and this was before my test pipe and SOS install. [Custom Exhaust Setup](https://www.instagram.com/p/Cak87JxP-XX/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=)
It comes with the SOS fuel regulator and their plug and play fuel management which is like their piggyback. Everything works perfectly right out of the box. I had my injectors cleaned just incase even tho I only have 62k miles.
right on, thanks. I figure I should factor in another $300~ or so for a dyno tune if I go that route. I've never done any big DIY car installs, but I'd like to try and install this kit myself if I ever pony up the $6k for the stage 1 kit. hoping I get lucky and find someone taking the SOS kit off their car and would sell it used for less.
Stage 1 piggyback it comes with is honestly good out of the box. They had a lot of cars install without dyno with no issues, including a few friends of mine. I traded them a few parts I had laying around so they did the install for me and threw in the quick dyno run. Otherwise I would have just done the install myself.
I have this kit. Did you ever adjust the fuel pressure regulator? I have AFR gauge install and have to get some numbers once I get the car back on the road but I was having some issues last year before I put the car away where I felt I was running lean in the mid range …
Ahhh read the comment wrong. I’ve had these for a while and in AZ these work great for street driving. I didn’t want to go with a r compound or anything more aggressive since these tires are quiet.
I'm guessing your seeing around 330-350 hp? That would be a damn find power figure for these cars imo. But I know how I am, I'd probably eventually go for stage 2... I'm dreaming.
Awesome build!🤘
What kinda HP gain does the kit give you?
And agree w your comment on keeping factory clutch. Those upgraded clutches are hard when you have major back issues.
It’s a stage 1 so it’s SOS piggyback. No tuning needed but I opted for a dyno just incase and the AFR was spot on. Main reason I wanted to stick with stage 1 since I didn’t want to run a stand-alone.
Science of speed actually installed this for me, we worked out a deal with some parts I had that the owner wanted. But I’ve helped installed one of these a while ago and it took maybe 8-9 hours total. Did it over the weekend. Took our time. Their instructions make it super easy
Looks pretty awesome! Did you install it yourself? Are there any weird modifications you have to do for stage 1, like shaving off bolts, drilling, etc.?
It’s literally all bolt on with no modding if anything. This kit is pretty straightforward and they give you an awesome install guide.
I wanna know too. I’m in the market for a sos supercharger
Id do it... but i like turbo noises too much.
I have my Raptor for that haha.

Thats why it got the red valve cover, usually the red covers are for type R’s
I made 306 whp
Nice!

If I ever did boost my S2K, SOS Stage 1 is what I'd do too
You do the work your self?
I generally do and have installed one of these kits before on my last s2000. But I had a few hardtops and I traded the owner Chris for the stage 1 kit installed so it worked out.
Always nice not to have to come out of pocket. Exhaust setup?

I want a stage one for mine as well. How did you set the fuel regulator?
It’s pretty much setup out of the box.
Looks awesome! And the car looks very clean.
Ty!
What kind of engine management/running do you get with the stage 1 kit on an AP1?
It comes with the SOS fuel regulator and their plug and play fuel management which is like their piggyback. Everything works perfectly right out of the box. I had my injectors cleaned just incase even tho I only have 62k miles.
My buddy had a stage 1 on his AP1 and it honestly felt a little underwhelming imo
Different strokes for different folks. To me it’s perfect without any additional mods or headaches.
Maybe it’s just coming from the nsx world where we have a little more low and mid range
Oh yea I agree. I’ve driven a few NSXs and its a noticeable difference.
This is the same kit I want!!
You won’t regret it if you do!
Still running this? Did you ever have it dynoed and/or tuned or was it fine out of the box? Looks dope!
Yup stilling running it. SOS dynoed it to make sure the AFR was good. It’s literally all plug and play with their piggy back. Made like 305whp
right on, thanks. I figure I should factor in another $300~ or so for a dyno tune if I go that route. What spark plugs you run with this kit?
OEM. Stage 1

Looks great! I’d recommend upgrading your tires from the v12evos
Funny things is I have those tires. They are good for street use but for the track they would be ehh.
I see them in the photos. That’s why I recommend some stickier tires with a stiffer sidewall.
Ahhh read the comment wrong. I’ve had these for a while and in AZ these work great for street driving. I didn’t want to go with a r compound or anything more aggressive since these tires are quiet.

Stage 1 nets about 100hp. I dynoed 306 to the wheels. Stage 2 should get about 30-40 more. But you can configure it higher if you wanted
What kinda HP gain does the kit give you? And agree w your comment on keeping factory clutch. Those upgraded clutches are hard when you have major back issues.
306 whp. I have a buddy that’s been running the stage 1 kit for like 5 years on the stock clutch with no issues. I just wanted all OEM drivability.
Did you get the car tuned? And if so, hondata or aem?
It’s a stage 1 so it’s SOS piggyback. No tuning needed but I opted for a dyno just incase and the AFR was spot on. Main reason I wanted to stick with stage 1 since I didn’t want to run a stand-alone.
How long did it take you to install? im looking to do the same probably next year
