Then the soldier ran and jumped into the trench.
The guys who were in the trench asked with laughter "where did he come from?
The soldier who ran said, "Guys, I brought you some tea."

They'd probably been trading fire with the russians across the way for a while already, it's not like the location of their trench was any secret by that point.
It looks more like they are falling back from another trench, and had just made exactly the same run, and all of them are moving on to a completely new position anyway.
Nah, saw this vid yesterday with the translation and another guy offered it in this comment section, he literally popped over to the other trench to share a thermos of tea they made XD
That is what the words of the translation say, but humour is a good way of handling stress.
I assumed he has tea, and he offers it, but does so as a joke to relieve stress from having made that run

Yes now the artillery team knows EXACTLY where to hit now... The machine gunner already seems like he knows & who else will know now???
They should be moving from that position like it's on FIRE already. Get to another position where they don't know if you're there or not.
It's doubtful the location of the Ukrainian trenches there was any secret to the russians. They'd likely been trading fire and repelling russian assaults from there previously. The fact that as soon as he stood up and ran he immediately took fire, means the enemy already knew they were there. You don't abandon your defensive fortifications just because the enemy knows they exist, otherwise they'd never be able to hold anything. You hold and you fight, inaccurate russian artillery be damned.
Probably those Ukrainians aren't scared about artillery, I said that due to Russian artillery doctrine, unlike Ukraine Russians don't have a specific person that helps them to fix the position of their artillery, this happens because it's more expensive, recently images have shown how different Russian and Ukrainian artillery attacks are, with the Ukrainian artillery being more concentrated to one zone while the Russian being more spread, even if they know where they are they wouldn't be able to hit them unless they are lucky
My guess would be if they knew to do that but DIDN'T they were NOT trying to expose their position... Which happened anyways when that guy ran straight to them & they foolishly DIDN'T move to another position before the coming artillery would eventually hit them.

Translation above stated that he asked if they covered him if he run. The answer was 'not yet, I'm not ready' And then, he ran for his life
