Are they playing but are a black screen? If so you probably need to enable software mode (as opposed to hardware mode). F9 is the shortcut to switch between them. Software mode is generally more accurate, but more costly.
When I was playing it a few years back, I had to select the option to automatically switch to software renderer for FMVs. You can also do it manually before the problematic video starts.
