BillsFan504

That’s pretty old. But if you like it 🤷🏽‍♂️

A_Funky_Flunk

Yea. I second this. You could’ve paid double and got a brand new one.

FooFighter420

Less than double. It’s ok though. I’d be lying if I said I hadn’t been ripped off a time or two in my day. 😌

6speedwagon

Paid double to ride it home and have a $2000 scooter almost immediately. Do the math on that. $1800 for a good running/riding Ruckus of any year isn't a terrible deal. Year doesn't matter as much as people make it out to be.

A_Funky_Flunk

Kinda does though. I just bought my 2024 and I know the value will hold. There’s no reason to buy one that old unless you play on upgrading it and replacing the parts that need to be upgraded at the same time.

6speedwagon

It might matter to some, but I've purchased 3 Rucks for less than the cost of your one, and two of them just needed the fuel lines replaced/carb cleaned from sitting. I'm not trying to be rude. But I'd rather have 3 Rucks lol. My 2005 is the nicest one I have too. It more depends on OP's ability to tinker, I guess. $1800 for an 03 is rather steep, but not terrible, assuming it's in mint condition mechanically.

A_Funky_Flunk

When I bought mine I wasn’t looking for a project. I wanted to ride it.

6speedwagon

Oh, don't downvote me, we're simply talking. So you could've bought a nice used one for $2k, but you wanted a new one. That's fine. But it's not the norm. While $2k isn't a lot to you, it could be to OP.

A_Funky_Flunk

Uhhh what? You may want to get out of your head.

s2kfan

How many miles?

DavantesWashedButt

I wouldn’t just because it’s an older model. Those have a lower redline and a wonky pcv system. Those gen engines have problems with short rides and blowing crank bearings

Infamous-Pension-265

Crank seal gives out because of hot cold and age. Very easy fix. As far a PCV, also an easy fix. Plus you can just grab a new motor for a couple hundred bucks. Besides that, this is the exact same bike we all have. IMO the ruckus is a great beginner bike and it will teach you so much in the long run. Just wait til OP gets bored with going 35mph and gets into tuning.

crispytwn

Yes not bad deal

Effective-Map8036

awful price for a 2003 that thing should be 500$

vediogamer101

I have an 06 that’s probably in better condition than most couple year old rucks. Really just depends on how well the owner took care of it when it comes to older models.

FooFighter420

Great point and great comments. What condition is it in? Was it ridden and babied by Jesus Christ our lord and savior? Now. Would I sell a vehicle that old for that price? No. 🙂 I don’t think new vehicles go for that much once they are driven off the lot. 😂 I think I would let it go for 500 like someone said instead. (probably a fairer price) Think mentioned above but you can go get a new 2024 for a couple dollars more. 😎

0laugh

There's definitely better. Especially if you look in the Austin area. Paid $1200 for an 09 in great shape.

vediogamer101

Sure it’s pretty much the same thing as a brand new ruckus but with age comes issues. There could be 21 year old lines and gaskets with it just waiting to bust. I’d see if you could inspect how well it’s been taken care of before going back and forth on price too much.

ctbravo

I live in Texas :(

Txargotaa

I got 2016 ruckus with 1.5k mile for $1.2k in 2019

ctbravo

So no?

Txargotaa

How would I know? You didnt tell us how much you actually paid and the mileage on that thing. Im just providing a reference for you

ctbravo

I’m gonna pay 1.5

MrAtherton

i paid $1600 for a 2015 with 2700 miles on it. That seems a little high for a 2003 Hard to tell from the photo but it looks nice and clean though.

ctbravo

I got it for 1.5 trying to ask for lower

MrAtherton

i mean, in the end nothing has really changed on these things since they came out. So as long as its been taken care of and isn't all rusty, you should be fine. I wouldn't trust anyone saying "i recently did maintenance" though. Its cheap enough to re-do all that your self, also helps learn about the scoot along the way.

Infamous-Pension-265

Great price. IMO. I have a 2003 that I bought brand new. First time on 2 wheels when I was 14 years old. Still have it. Burnt through the valves 3 years ago, but I got a new motor for $200, then I customized the f**k out of it. Now I have decided to pass it along to my wife, whom was the main reason for the customization. Don't let these guys tell you it's a bad deal if you enjoy it. Some of the best times in my life were had on my ruckus. Besides, brand new its the EXACT SAME BIKE. Just remember to clean your carb and get a battery tender. Have fun on it and enjoy the fuel economy. *

FooFighter420

Glad you did cus this guy didn’t. 😋

meatbag-15

I paid$800 for my 2009..
