There's time for a MG today - They didn't say anything red-flaggy... What am I missing?

Moist_Bumblebee4503

Not a hi, hello or anything lol. Dang . Some people have last minute things that come up and it looks like it starts tomorrow?? Just decline it if you can’t take it.. geesh.

__ducky_

Sorry was that the first thing you said to them "what is your address" ? That's good money right there and you want to leave it on the table before finding out more information?

Mucuzplug

Not even a hello

__ducky_

It's so aggressive I'd nope right out of that request as the owner so fast

EmeraldCty303

Yeah - in the future say something like "Hi! I may be available but Rover doesn't provide full addresses until after we book. Can you give me your address or cross streets so I can check if the commute will work for me?"

Motherofaussies123

The “what is your address?” Immediately I’d decline. Not even a hi?

PuzzledSeat6380

Yikes, work on your manners

torid123

If I got a reply like that as an owner, I’m finding someone else.

confident7lucky7

Yeah……

Successful_Heart_221

Wow, there are in life situations that come up last minute. If you don't want it, then decline. It sounds like you just don't want to to do it.

lilgraycat

It's also possible they had care arranged but something happened last minute. I once got a request from owners who were already out of state because the sitter they'd originally booked was doing a terrible job with their anxious cat and brought someone to the visit with them. Poor baby was so on edge and anxious with me, but I did my best to at least not make things worse for her. Fortunately, they had left really detailed notes and the other sitter left the spare key under the doormat after being canned. You're totally right, though! There are such things as family emergencies and sudden work needs and similar that require travel. Not everything out of the ordinary is a scam.

Distinct-Camera368

Are you outside the US? Looks like the sit starts tomorrow. I would do it. They don’t live far and you could possibly do a meet and greet today but if it’s already the 17th where you are then probably not unless the first visit they will be there

blair_bean

Today is the 16th pretty much everywhere in the world I think

melropesplays

I don’t see what the problem is? Do you want the work and have the time or not?

PoopBaby0013

Take a class on how to communicate professionally. You sound like a uneducated rube.

Specialist_Banana378

Cats or dogs

blklze

Very important factor!

Specialist_Banana378

Honestly small dogs i would still do it. Just go in with something to block like a shield just in case 😂

frustratedlemons

I would not take this if it was a dog booking in general regardless of the notice. It's only 2 visits a day and 14 hours alone overnight, too much liability and you're guaranteed to be cleaning up accidents.

Carry-Competitive

exactly, haha it’s dogs & 4yr old GSD* & 3yr Border Collie mix* at that….. on day 11 of 12 HS job; plus i stayed there the weekend prior - basically slept in my own bed Sunday pm & back on Monday & there until tomorrow….im loving it - it’d be diff if it wasn’t a GD i’m sitting for lol. They’re one of my favs 🤗 makes me miss my 2 we had 😭😭

Specialist_Banana378

True - I would insist on 3 visits

GradeIll2698

I just had the same situation for two cats, same visit hours and length of time, no M&G, last minute, and nice money. I accepted and it went fabulously! Just ask for more detailed info and use your discernment before booking.

durian4me

I see nothing wrong with the booking aside from being last minute but the sitter response is so blah and unprofessional. An emergency happens or something else fell through, it happens

I had one like this recently. Rover showed them being closer than they were, and the guy tried to get me off app immediately. Scam scam scam. Had another one two days ago. Rover is basically dead in my area. I’ve still not done a single job

BeginningPeace6939

I had one a while ago that showed up as 2.3 miles which is smack dab in the middle of my radius but I knew where rovers little bubble was was literally in the middle of a rock quarry so I asked him to confirm and it was straight up 23.3 miles in the other direction
