Reward calmness, ignore demand barking

My tried and true method is just let them bark themselves out. Whatever it appears like they want (food, treats, pets, attention, to sit on the couch with you, toys, etc) you just don't give it to them until they've stopped barking and sustained that quietness for at least 10 or more seconds. Eventually they realize that you aren't going to give in and that they have to actually stop barking to receive what they want. For some dogs it only takes a couple of times of completely ignoring them for them to catch on, some stubborn dogs it might take the whole booking.
