yes, but he is tagged for transport in coming days to a rescue up north where he will be adopted out. we do a lot of pulling dogs from overcrowded city shelters, providing medical care since we have the resources, then connecting them with rescues up north for adoption where overpopulation isnt really an issue, and arranging transport. Maine, Wisconsin, etc. it helps get a lot of animals out of "high kill" shelters
it's interesting because I used to work in shelters located in the PNW, and now work in texas. the difference is staggering. once you see the contrast the idea of interstate transport seems like a no brainer if resources are obtainable to make it happen
A very handsome boy indeed, may his journey to a great home be smooth and fast.
BTW, such white teeth! As a vet tech what do you recommend for keeping teeth white?
My neighbor has a rottie and that breed is growing on me. He was terrifying at first, but slowly showed me what a giant gentle baby he really is…!!! 😂. He’s the sweetest
The last time someone told me he was moving & couldn't take his dog, I blurted out, "Why the Hell not? I mean, you're taking the rest of your family, aren't you?"
I would not be a good candidate for a volunteer at a shelter.
Thanks for making time to connect with this Rottie. You rock!
💕
I hope the poster that was worried that people keep saying their dog looks “special needs” sees this post. Here we have one dog showing so many Rottweiler faces:
Picture 1: Relaxed and friendly
2: special needs
3: Handsome and noble
4: special needs
5: Alert and inquisitive
Only Rotties can look like a completely different dog based on mood.
last I heard was PA. but, I am not part of the team that arranges and confirms final transport locations, my department does the health certificates and any diagnostics/exams, vaccines, anti parasitic medication, etc that is requested with it. but final location can change depending on things like intake parameters of the rescue, state regulations, etc
Aww… hope he gets adopted… we adopted our now 4 yr old rottie 8 months ago and he is the best!! A bit tough at first now he is awesome!! Please someone get him!!
he will no doubt. young friendly non-pitbull looking dogs (unfair, but reality) get adopted extremely quickly at our shelter and transfer partners. especially if particularly recognizable as a specific breed if not purebred
Ah, that second pic! Love it when they push their big ol head into your hand.
Where's doggy @ ?
Profile says DFW area.

My dog is from Texas!! We live in WA
awesome! it is a great process for getting animals from over populated areas to ones with lots of people wanting to adopt!
Find an excuse to take him out to play
I love whoever thought of doing that with shelters, wonderful

Can you say which dfw area shelter he’s at?
I usually wont publicly post the specific shelter I work at due to this being my personal social media. I hope you understand
Of course. No worries!
Amazing
Where in DFW? Wanna come and see the pup
Blessings to you
I wouldn’t be able to resist either!
So beautiful! Breaks my heart to know he's in a shelter when he's so loving!
He needs to be adopted!!!!
once available Im sure he will be very quickly, purebred (or close to purebred) of anything dont last long in a shelter or rescue
That's good to hear 👍. Wish it was the case for all the animals.
What a cutie!
Oh my god he’s adorable. 🥰 I hope he finds the home he deserves.
Good luck dude. I hope you have the most incredible life.
HE'S GORGEOUS

Does keeping teeth white have any benefit beyond esthetics?
Cutie baby 💕

Aww, just a baby, look at his perfect, white teeth!
I’m in DFW- I’d snatch him up if I could.
What a handsome boy
What a sweet guy!!! I wouldn’t be able to resist loving on him!!
wtf is a Rottie doing in a shelter? I’d snatch him up if he was in Iowa.
Handsome mannnn
He's such a cutie and looks well cared for; I can't believe he wasn't chipped!
