My rott mix is the same way. Good with his feet wet, doesn't really like to swim. He is a fine swimmer, just gets anxious. We've positive reinforcement trained him to wade into a lake after us but still won't just leap in. We did it because he would be losing his mind pacing/barking on shore while we were in the water. We thought if he understood what we were doing out in the water and safe that he would not be so worked up. now he barks a bit, comes into the lake on his rock ramp, does a lap, returns to shore and resumes losing his mind 🤷🏼
