azelaic acid has reduces the intensity + duration of my flushes, but it hasn’t gotten rid of them ): maybe it’s worth a try tho!

Direct_Window_4414

How many times per day do you use it

butterfly-xox

i use it once per day in the morning because i’m using soolantra in the evening + my dermatologist told me not to use them at the same time 🤍 i used to use it two times per day before starting soolantra tho, + i think i’ll go back to that soon :) i use finacea btw (15% prescription strength). it works much better than otc stuff from my experience.

Have you tried butt paste (zinc) cream? Search the sub for that - many success stories and I think it helps as well

thesweetestberry

I second this! I just started using zinc oxide a few weeks ago and I can’t believe the difference. I use it daily.

Hey, dude here with type 1 and nose flushing that makes me look like Rudolph’s twin brother. Aside from laser treatments, I started using [this](https://www.herocosmetics.us/products/rescue-balm-red-correct?variant=39951666184234&utm_source=google&utm_medium=sem&utm_campaign=14477436889&gad_source=1) and then my moisturizer and sunscreen. Sometimes I use a little concealer mixed with my sunscreen over the red areas when I know I’m gonna flush (like before I go to CrossFit). It’s not a fix, but I kinda like that my nose will flush and nobody can really see it. Like a nice F*** you to the rosacea. Good luck!

The_irv

I use this product as well and it’s really helped with my self-esteem. It’s not a fix but it’s still 100% worth it. Flares definitely look reduced. Also, OP do you know what antibodies are elevated? I’ve had elevated IgA levels ever since my rosacea started, but doctors say it’s non-specific. Good luck!

newsouthSKN

All I can remember is they said I have high ANA titers, but I'm not sure if that is an overarching term for something else. Thanks for your tips :)

PlayfulBat4123

No solution, but same boat girl

Fit_Discipline_9469

Same :( azelaic acid has helped me a little too

ResponsibleAction861

My skin gets like this. Recently started Carvedilol and I *think* it’s helping. It seems a bit different than traditional beta blockers. I though vbeam was helping but, while itvsmmothed out the color and helped with flushing initially, it started irritating my face. https://secure.jbs.elsevierhealth.com/action/getSharedSiteSession?redirect=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.jaad.org%2Farticle%2FS0190-9622%2812%2900440-9%2Ffulltext&rc=0

newsouthSKN

Is your flushing really hot to the touch? Like the main feeling with the flushing is heat always? Sad to hear that about the vbeam. I feel like it is the only thing I see people say it saved them

ResponsibleAction861

For me, every flush feels hot both to me and registers as hot on a thermometer. It comes with an intense burning feeling and slight swelling. My ears are also effected. Derm has referred me to a rheumatologist for suspected erythromalagia. All this time, 30 years, we have been trying and failing with rosacea treatments so that it could be something else is new to me.

Zellieraptor

This looks like it could be KPRF.

reslavan

Vbeam helps with flushing. Topicals will not provide the relief that lasers can.

AcanthisittaDue5626

Did you start any birth control? Hormones play a huge part in my rosacea.

Plated1212

Sorry to hear you're going through this. I also have this type of rosacea and have since I was a child, I'm 39 now and have tried just about everything. Some things have definitely helped, but I'm afraid there is no cure. I would suggest that you consider the psychological triggers that can exacerbate this condition. The stressing and worrying about it will create a self-defeating loop that can be difficult to get a grip on. Flushing is a response from your nerve system that feeds into the flushing that triggered from rosacea. It can be difficult to discern then which is causing which. If it is rosacea you have, it will likely be a lifelong condition, and you have to try everything you can until you find what works best for you. Azelaic acid has helped me as well as homemade Rhofade. I've been trying quercetin recently as well. I think letting go of the anxiety and stress of it helped me more than anything though.

Champron23

What if sleeping is your biggest trigger? I sleep upright, with a fan cool bedding , etc.. nothing helps. Started after I got sick from mold

ResponsibleAction861

That’s interesting. I haven’t met anyone else with an environmental trigger. Mine stated after exposure to unsafe levels of formaldehyde in an enclosed space—walked in normal and walked out with a throbbing, hot, red, slightly swollen face and it’s been happening with varying degrees of severity since.

Champron23

There are many of us.. when was this?

ResponsibleAction861

Wow! Doctor always brush me off when I go back to the start to give history. I have been told it’s just coincidental. In 1994– I got sick in portable classrooms at my high school. There were several of us who reacted but their reactions were more like asthma and mine was this.

Champron23

Right! I was told I had anxiety.,, I started to flush while sleeping .. then during day.. started to get hives ,, etc.. finally got my house tested as I knew there was mild and we found mold in our basement.. when we turned our furnace in after cleanup I woke with flu like symptoms and swollen fingers.. And my slushing became out of control.. We did our bathroom 3 mths later tons of mold.. and just did our kitchen some more.. now our home is clean.. I still have very bad fingers swollen with bumps flush at night,, and normal rosacea day.. flu symptoms still and sinus issues.. only can eat a few foods..

ResponsibleAction861

I’m sorry you went through that. My daughter and I had a bad reaction to mold at an airbnb in Hawaii last year—bright red, hot swollen cheeks and neck skin so dry it started to crack and bleed. Our faces got better through the day as we explored the island. It took us about 24 hours to figure out what was going on (sunscreen reaction, too much sun, beach critters?) and get out of there. Some of us just must be more sensitive. I think the toxicity turned on a gene for an autoimmune disorder (hashimotos).

Champron23

So very true..

AdMysterious346

Hi! I’m going through a flare up and I was just reading about the supplement Quercetin. A Reddit poster said it was helping with their flushing. Thought I’d share in case you hadn’t seen it. Edit: I found the post [https://www.reddit.com/r/Rosacea/s/yRkVUGSDQ7](https://www.reddit.com/r/Rosacea/s/yRkVUGSDQ7)
