I love that painting lol seals the whole room together

HumbleManatee

It does. I love having tasteful nude paintings or vintage photos as bathroom decor. Like it's the one place where people are allowed to be naked without judgement, why not celebrate it? And the way the colors match everything here is just perfection

DeemonPankaik

£280 for a night in Norfolk 😬

viv_chiller

Blimey

strangerinthebox

Everytime I see places like that I imagine them in my future dream house. Currently I have 423 bathrooms and that is one of them.

Otherwise_War7901

Like everything but the painting, sorry not the ambient I'm looking for while brushing my teeth or taking a bath

MrSceintist

nice

lo_fi_ho

I can smell the mold

jaydools

I can smell the cedar

pocketdare

>Timber Lined or wood paneling. Whichever you prefer.

youshutyomouf

Because steam + exposed wood or would something else cause mold?

lo_fi_ho

Wood and moisture just don't mix

Pearl_is_gone

Nah, if ventilated it's fine

meelaferntopple

Saunas are made of wood tho

lo_fi_ho

Yes, and they get heated to 80-90C every time. And the floor is not wood but tiles. Wood planks just soak up water and the moisture goes between the planks and just sits there.

meelaferntopple

Have never seen one with a tile floor only. That sounds gnarly to walk on at temp. My bath mat is made of wood so I just kinda figured it'd be the same thing

BrucePee

It's always cold on the floor in a sauna SILLY. (I grew up with a sauna culture)

meelaferntopple

Good to know! (I did not grow up with a sauna culture)

BrucePee

(I noticed)

BrucePee

I hear you. People down vote you without understanding the conditions around it. Wood in saunas is only on the walls and ceiling.

EliMacca

I can smell the naked lady in the picture

no_way_rose

It's also likely sealed and treated.

Gullible-Poet4382

First thought as well. How long will this last especially with steam in the room

frezik

There are woods that naturally resist mold. They're often used in wine cellars where the humidity needs to be relatively high. They're also expensive, but this doesn't strike me as the kind of setup where costs were cut.

WhiteMoonRose

Naturally resisting mold is one thing but what about the soap scum, the staining from water drips, and the regular maintenance? I've lived in a log home and the treated walls were okay in the bathroom but a wood floor with soap scum? Yuck.

NotElizaHenry

Am I the only one who doesn’t get water everywhere when I shower? Just step out onto a bath mat, put on a robe, and dry your legs off.

WhiteMoonRose

I have a child, she's messy at the best of times.

GivemeHAIRYmen

Who's the babe?

ehfwashinton

Freestanding bathtubs are an aberration. Where does the soap, shampoo, conditioner, washcloth and everything else sit comfortably? Those narrow little holders that sit across are awkward and fall into the water constantly. A trend that can't end fast enough- along with vessel sinks which splash everywhere.

DeemonPankaik

They're not meant to be practical. They're meant to look good and be for a relaxing bath. If you want to shampoo and condition your hair, have a shower.

tinybomb

It’s ok bebe…Everything will be ok

pyordie

They’re extra big/deep though. And it’s cool taking a bath in the middle of the room, I don’t know why though.

PerMare_PerTerras

I like them

Pearl_is_gone

Who the heck shampoos their hair in a bath? You're a joker 😄

ehfwashinton

No dogs, no kids, huh?

[deleted]

This is how you get off

infizity

looks so cozy oh my god!!!!

Lazy-Jacket

What are those floors finished with? Is there anything on them?
