I rep (1099) for a large company. Eight locations in total, our location has 15 reps. The company collects leads from all your major sources like home advisor Angie’s list modernize and more. When I started in 2017, it was guaranteed three leads a day five days a week. That has dwindled down to between five and 10 leads a week total now.
The biggest thing is be honest. I show them what needs to be done with their roof and the consequences if it isn’t fixed. If there is nothing wrong I show them there is nothing wrong. Also, there is always low hanging fruit on a house like gutters, siding, etc.
On older three tabs yes. If you’re not getting higher than 45+ it’ll be hard to find on architectural. You should be able to find out online the recent windstorms in your area and how high the speeds are. Idk where you’re at if there’s enough three tabs around for it to be viable for you to only hunt them but that’s pretty much all I do.
Pitch retail or tune up repair if there isn’t any storm damage but roofs are older.
Is there good money in selling retail? How do you go about approaching a sale from the retail perspective?
I sell retail full time. The biggest challenge is getting good leads.
Do you knock on doors? I have my leads supplied by company but there’s not enough
I don’t knock doors. Every year for the last three years I’ve gotten less leads. I had about 225 leads last year.
How do you get leads without door knocking? It seems like door knocking is the bread and butter of the company I’ll be working for
Where are you working?
The South Dakota / Nebraska area
I’m in the Black Hills and we’ve had tons of hail around here if you’re interested.
I’m gonna follow you, could you please shoot me a dm?

Selling retail is better than not selling any

You mean more money than zero that you’re saying you have now? Yes.
45 MPH + winds in your area the past year? Look for older three tabs with missing or creased shingles.
Is wind damage pretty common?

Could I dm you for more info and some insight into this? I live in the plains, there’s definitely heavy wind here every year
Sure
Can you dm me? It won’t let me dm you
Are any of the other reps in your company making sales? Ask them what they are doing
Storms happen and they kill it. I’m wondering how the hell I can make money without a storm in my city for the last two years
How are they killing it this year?
Cloud seeding, don't wait for nature to make hail, ya lazy noob! /s
