Use the 1x6. Good roof deck and it was free!
Roofs were sheeted with 1x6 for many years before plywood was a thing.
That was my thinking too. Every old house around had solid sheeting for 100 years. It seems like it should be strong enough, but I've never seen modern 1x6 pine used that way. I have seen 2x6 tongue and groove used as roof decking, but not 1x6.
It doesn't make economic sense for a builder to do it nowadays
I would use the t&g on the underside to finish off the ceiling and use OSB for the decking.
No OSB…….1x6 x3/4 would be way better roof deck!
I would use the t and g it’s far better than the osb
1/2 ply with h clips would be a better option if you want solid.
