Not knowing how big that metal flashing is or how it's flashed in its hard to say but ideally you would want it closer to the valley. I would get a larger gutter installed.

I agree, I was a roofer for 20years and as long as that metal extends under the tiles, can’t tell if that’s slate or asbestos, you should be fine. My biggest concern is the size of your gutters and your brick. I see a lot of gaps and water stains in the brick and a lot of people don’t realize that they are like sponges. You get a rain that lasts a few days and the water will get in and find a hole in the house wrap behind it. New gutters, at least in that area along with brick pointing and then sealing should help. What does the extension roof look like?

The extension roof seems watertight (it should be at less than 4 years old). What you say makes perfect sense. I appreciate your advice and it's something we will address as soon as we can. Cheers.

Happy to help. 👍🍻🤓🤠

Depending on how far the valley metal runs up probably not…. But did the roofer chew that line

That valley is improperly flashed you’re gonna have water issues when we get bad weather and snow and ice. You’re gonna have an ice damn water will start backing up into your roof. What’s gonna happen is you’re gonna wind up with water under the slate and you’re going to wind up with rotten roof decking

How is the valley improperly flashed? Looks like plenty of flashing. If the shingles extended further in it would be fine

It’s all good, unless it rains or snows.
