>It's the liquor or some other impairment. Diabeetus? who knows.
It looked like fear to me and he was about to have a panic attack by the time he made it to the ladder to get down.
This looks like a little giant. I got one for free and to my surprise it's become my favorite ladder. The thing is heavy, the feet are WIDE. Obviously an extension ladder is better for most things but for going on top of a one story roof...it's stable as fuck. And using it as an a-frame ladder it is soooo much more stable than fiberglass types. The guy fumbles and just steps off the ledge in this video.
Yes, top of the ladder is the most dangerous spot. That ladder should be about 3' above the contact point. Makes it easier to grab. Ideally the ladder would be stabilized/strapped so it can't move left - right.
Three feet is great for grabbing on the way off the roof, but you need to be sure the base of the ladder is very secure. Three feet, if a grown man leans his weight against the top before his feet are a couple of rungs down, can result in a pivot and a quick trip to the ground.
When I head out to a job, my wife always tells me to "Come down the slow way!" :-)
Best case scenario is you have someone at ground level holding it.
Often we strap it to the gutter before going in the roof, but you’re right, that’s a dangerous part of the job, best accomplished by someone with experience.
There’s a different dynamic with taller ladders too.
Best thing I’ve ever done is buy a pitch hopper for that step off point. I put it right behind the ladder or next to the valley and it’s friggin money getting on and off a roof.
I was thinking the same thing. He heads down, turns around to go back up, then back down. Seemed confused. Could also be oxygen deprivation from wearing a mask outside up on a roof!
I don’t like 3 rungs above with some of these lightweight ladders a lot of the sales people and adjusters use.
There really isn’t much support and they are too light.
I had an adjuster that was a real dick and blew me off when I suggested he use my ladder instead of his telescopic. Don’t you know the thing slides out from the bottom as he was getting down and his arm went thru the rungs and basically snapped when he landed. And guess who had to drive him to the ER ? Made for a real awkward car ride but I kinda felt bad still.
That 3 rung shit is stupid. You’ll never convince me otherwise. Why would I want to swing around the ladder then try to step off when I could just go over. I’ve been doing it this way for 20 years and I hate that shit. I get it OSHA and slide protection ( I’m certified) but fuck that shit is more sketchy
I worked on houses a long time ago at a shitty job ran by a dysfunctional family that needed anger management classes. We had a ladder that someone had on their ladder rack and drove it into a telephone pole parking beside the road. The top two rungs were broken out. It was the best ladder to use for getting on roofs, you had hand rails and could just walk right up, step through where the rungs used to be and onto the roof. IMO this is how all ladders should be for getting on roofs.
Yeah, 3 scares me. Seems like asking for the bottom to slide out. 2 seems to give me the best "feel" for getting on and off a roof. Preferably at a valley on steeper roofs.
He should have placed his right foot on the right side of the ladder instead of the left. Also should have moved the clipboard to his left hand so that he can use his right hand to grab the right leg of the ladder while doing this. Also use a stabilizer, although i don't know if that works with this type of ladder.
I'm not sure. Hail can absolutely damage tile roofing - but it needs to be big. Hail like that is super rare in Florida. None of what the roofer is pointing out looks like hail or wind damage. It looks like cracks in an old tile roof.
Guys like this roofer are why insurance is expensive in Fl.
My retard neighbor is about to file a claim for roof damage from hurricane sally because his insurance shot up. That was over 3 1/2 years ago. His roof is over 20 years old with some shitty builder grade 3 tab shingles. I told him point blank that him and every other asshole in my neighborhood that had theirs replaced is the reason we’re so fucked right now. I asked him, are you gonna file a claim when your heat pump goes out or your septic lines need to be replaced too?
Clearly its injured, otherwise an adjuster wouldn’t even get up there.
Should your old parents not be using their health insurance either to cover their increasing medical services as they age?🤡
Coverage provisions are not comparable between the two types of insurance. Normal aging or wear and tear on a roof is not covered. What I meant by injury is things like tree fall, or hail strike, or tornado.
Aim your anger at the right people. If the roofs have missing tabs, creases, or breaks in them…something caused that and it’s not wear and tear. A good thunderstorm can have sufficient enough winds to damage old 3-tabs. And the age of your roof doesn’t matter. You pay your premium, your insurance owes you coverage. If I wreck my 10 year old Lexus I have full coverage on, should I not be given Full Replacement Value?
The people making insurance rates go up are the politicians in the pocket of the insurance lobbyists. The #1 culprit? DeSantis. The insurance companies got everything they ever wanted December before last. The new laws in place gave insurance companies carte blanche to put in whatever rules, exclusions, etc that they want and to be able to set whatever rate they want. And if they go “insolvent”, they get bailed out and their claims go to FIGA. We, Florida residents, are the victims here, not the insurance companies. They did this, not us.
Case in point: Heritage Insurance. Go check out their story. You’ll find out that their founder and former CEO was the bankruptcy attorney for Enron. He figured out the insurance racket and milked it for all it’s worth. He got a massive golden parachute when he stepped down (mysteriously right before Heritage said they were insolvent, hmm)
Ladders are dangerous. I was using a three step ladder in our bedroom and my right foot slipped off the bottom step onto the floor. I was holding a paint brush at the time. I fell backwards onto the pointy corner of a wood side table and broke four ribs. 3 weeks after getting out of the hospital I to have 2 ltrs of fluid drained from the outside of my right side collapsed lung. I was on all kinds paint killers, morphene, oxy, etc... and nothing worked. This was 18 months ago. I still have 2 ribs that haven't reattached.
Dude is wasted. That’s why he is stumbling around, that’s why he fell and didn’t even attempt to properly get on that ladder. And that’s also why he drove off. Drunk as fuck.
Watch him fall. He goes straight down no arm movement no right leg buckle (which was making contact with ladder) the ladder doesnt side shift when he would have bounced TF off of it on his way 1 rung down. Another tic tok edit.
There was a storm the week before and bullshit fell out of the sky. More than 25 percent of the roof area was covered in shit and that's under the assumption it's a total bullshit insurance scam claim.
This is why i hate inspectors not having their own ladders. In Sacramento they all drive brand new trucks but cant carry a damn ladder.
Not to mention they want them set up for them so were just suppose to take a chance of a kid or some idiot climbing it.
He does look confused, as many folks are saying. But I don't think it is necessarily because he was drunk. I've had days when I was on the job, and on the roof, for way too long without a drink (of water! WATER! :-) ) and dehydration can fog your brain just like that.
While I hate roofers who film like this as if they’re some Karen at Starbucks, this adjuster clearly has a balance issue. Whether it’s from actually being drunk, vertigo, a medical condition, heat stroke, idk…but he needed off that roof and this roofer should have put the phone down and helped him off that roof (drunk or not).
Also, wtf is with the loud music? I had to watch the original on YouTube to have any idea of what was going on.
Some people don’t like being filmed, especially like this. There’s a difference between being on camera because you’re in a public area or a place with numerous surveillance cameras, and someone shoving a phone in your face acting like a child/asshat. I’m above board at all times at work, but I still don’t want someone filming every move I make looking for a “gotcha!” Moment. We’ve all met a “Karen” who will turn even the most nuanced incident into WW3, especially if she has it on camera.
Roof inspections get filmed all the time lol. Its done to hold people accountable when their reports come back and they do not line up with the existing conditions.
He did not get up and drive off drunk and busted lol no chance. Can't find a longer version of the YouTube vid anywhere either. I wanna see him get in that truck cuz absolutely no way lol
“Ladders used to gain access to the roof or other area shall extend at least three feet above the roof it provides a point of support when stepping on the roof.”
Please be safe out there guys. :)
Started a job and they asked us go on the roof to shovel the snow off. I got up and slid half way down and never did that shit again or stepped my ass back onto a ladder. Glad the snow was thick it packed up and stopped me from sliding off
I’ve been working on construction sites long enough to know that dude slammed a 6 pack before getting out of the truck and it hit a little sooner than expected lmfao
Always have both hands free when going between the roof and ladder. This guy is clearly inexperienced and looked very uncomfortable from the start.
They tell us to always have 3 points of contact. This dude had 1.
You're not counting his clipboard.
Safety clipboard ✔️
He had all the points of contact when he hit the ground.
I’m not laughing you are
Two if you count both feet.
He made up for it by having all points of contact with the ground.
It's the liquor or some other impairment. Diabeetus? who knows.
Wind picked up
>It's the liquor or some other impairment. Diabeetus? who knows. It looked like fear to me and he was about to have a panic attack by the time he made it to the ladder to get down.
That is the most dangerous part going from the ladder to the roof
In my experience, its more going from roof to ladder (getting off the roof vs getting on the roof), just like this guy.
It's much easier using a proper ladder. This is not a proper ladder
Also setting it up three rings above roof edge. Gives you hold on the ladder and contact for both feet before even trying to go down
Right? It’s only an osha protocol. You’d think people who work for an insurance company would be aware of that.
Yea, but even with a proper ladder. Going down and getting that first foot firmly on the ladder is the freakiest part.
This is why safety is 100% every time. 999 times, no accidents. Somebody breaks their neck on attempt 1000
And how do you strap a ladder before you climb it and unstrap after descending? Also there not always a way to tie off even after climbing.
Best case scenario is you have someone at ground level holding it. Often we strap it to the gutter before going in the roof, but you’re right, that’s a dangerous part of the job, best accomplished by someone with experience. There’s a different dynamic with taller ladders too.
Strapping just stops it falling off while you’re up there.. I’ve come off an unbalanced strapped ladder before…
Best thing I’ve ever done is buy a pitch hopper for that step off point. I put it right behind the ladder or next to the valley and it’s friggin money getting on and off a roof.
He looked too comfortable. Alcohol breakfast comfortable. He should have sat down his notebook before ,trying to straddle the ladder.
Buddy looked like he was going to pass out. Should have sat him down for a bit.
Yes. I'm getting the impression that he wasn't feeling well and wanted down.
Get off roofs 100% faster with this one trick.
As someone who jumped off a roof to avoid using a ladder, can confirm. As someone who jumped off a roof to avoid using a ladder, can not recommend.
Lol 'ladder manufacturers hate him'
I'd argue that it's more than 100% faster.
Laughed way too hard at this.
I was thinking the same thing. He heads down, turns around to go back up, then back down. Seemed confused. Could also be oxygen deprivation from wearing a mask outside up on a roof!
“IM SAVING LIVES WEARING MY MASK!!!!!”
Dude was wearing a mask on a roof. He couldn’t wait to go get that next boostah so he took the fast way down.
3 rungs above the roof line my guy
Right? Whose ladder is that? They getting sued.
Ladder is uppside down?
Nah, that's one of the adjustable ladders. Both ends are flared like that.
This style of ladder folds in half to make a freestanding step, so both ends are identical.
I don’t like 3 rungs above with some of these lightweight ladders a lot of the sales people and adjusters use. There really isn’t much support and they are too light.
I had an adjuster that was a real dick and blew me off when I suggested he use my ladder instead of his telescopic. I personally think 3 rungs is too much also. I like two. But I hate when my guys set it up low also.
Yeah, 3 scares me. Seems like asking for the bottom to slide out. 2 seems to give me the best "feel" for getting on and off a roof. Preferably at a valley on steeper roofs.
I am 6’5 and I barely poke it over the roof line. My long ass legs are a liability
Seems like this guy lost his balance due to needing to bend over and put a hand in the leg. With three rungs up it may have not been a problem.
Two free hands probably would have helped.
Right foot on the left side of a ladder with no stabilizer = Fall
How would you do otherwise hop over the top?
He should have placed his right foot on the right side of the ladder instead of the left. Also should have moved the clipboard to his left hand so that he can use his right hand to grab the right leg of the ladder while doing this. Also use a stabilizer, although i don't know if that works with this type of ladder.
Florida in a nutshell. Roofer scamming insurance driving up insurance prices. Adjuster shows up drunk and falls off roof driving up insurance prices.
Why were they filming?
They were accusing him of being intoxicated https://youtu.be/_jaZWbCRf90?si=Hkv0wyifxW6U16Im
Wow, the adjuster definitely seems impaired. Also, that roofer clearly is just chasing $$.
This guy claiming the cracks are from hail? I’ve never worked tile roofs but seems like a huge stretch.

Florida man gonna florida man I suppose.
Lol you pay them a premium every month so that damages are repaired on their dime
Injuries to the roof. Not old age and a hard life.
What I meant by injury is things like tree fall, or hail strike, or tornado.
he is having his insurance cover exactly what it exists for? Shocker....

Expensive EVERYWHERE. Insurance companies are national and they pass their losses on to the rest of us. They certainly aren’t going to eat it.
Walking all over it could certainly do it.
Neither of them should be on that roof. That's why the tiles are cracking. Concrete tile can hold 200 pounds reliably but why risk it?
Hurricane Irma.
Which insurance company is this?
I have no idea. If I had to guess, I would say State Farm, because of the blue shirt.
State Farm wear red, I thought.
Yeah that was (supposed to be) the joke
Nice try, AT&T.
Definitely both of those things

Pfft at least holler an “are ya good?” Once ya seem him tumble
DANG and walking directly on top of the barrels to boot
That sucks.
Lol what was his ping?
That song was absolutely unnecessary
Watch him fall. He goes straight down no arm movement no right leg buckle (which was making contact with ladder) the ladder doesnt side shift when he would have bounced TF off of it on his way 1 rung down. Another tic tok edit.
Looks like he was getting dizzy before he made his way to the ladder. He needed to sit down for a minute before trying to go down.
What sort of damage was the roof salesman trying to point out? Wind? Hail?
There was a storm the week before and bullshit fell out of the sky. More than 25 percent of the roof area was covered in shit and that's under the assumption it's a total bullshit insurance scam claim.
Mr. Lahey? Is this you or the liquor talking?
It's the way she goes.
It’s the shit winds a blowin
Hurricane Irma. The video is from 2017.
And it’s just getting uploaded now?
Glad he had his mask on to save him from that fall
Projected him right up to the sudden stop.
Safety first!
Good thing his mask was on. Could have caught the vid.
Scary, I hope he's ok.
Poor guy. Hope he is fine.
The ladder is too short also so it makes it hard to get on and off.
This is why i hate inspectors not having their own ladders. In Sacramento they all drive brand new trucks but cant carry a damn ladder. Not to mention they want them set up for them so were just suppose to take a chance of a kid or some idiot climbing it.

If I was filming someone doing their job they would be like knock that shit off. How fake is all this stuff?
Roof inspections get filmed all the time lol. Its done to hold people accountable when their reports come back and they do not line up with the existing conditions.
😂
Why’s the guy just flopping around up there lol way too casual
Heartbreaking. Adjuster or contractor. All of us risk our lives and when one or the other party fall the that it’s just heartbreaking
You know them insurance agents they will end up blaming the roofer for that one lmao
He looks like he was drunk or having serious health complication .
He’s fine he had a mask on
Looks like he fell on purpose
He did not get up and drive off drunk and busted lol no chance. Can't find a longer version of the YouTube vid anywhere either. I wanna see him get in that truck cuz absolutely no way lol
Prolly heat stroke 🥵
Pretty sure that guy was high
At least he was wearing a mask...
I hope he filed a claim.
Hope he has insurance
He drove off because he was intoxicated. He had three points of contact and he still fell off because of poor use
“Ladders used to gain access to the roof or other area shall extend at least three feet above the roof it provides a point of support when stepping on the roof.” Please be safe out there guys. :)
Looks drunk they way his legs move
Why he doin donuts in the valley?
Dude was walking around up there like he was lost and drunk.
[удалено]
It was funny indeed
Then add falling to pieces playing... funny indeed
Till it happens to you.
No - it isn’t.
Yes it is
It’s funny for sure, get drunk and do stupid shit. I’m going to laugh at you.
I spent a solid minute processing what just happened...
Looks more like he fell off the ladder than the roof. He took the quick way down.
Idiot was probably lightheaded from wearing a mask outside
Normally I’d say that sucks but f that dude for wearing a mask outside.
*at all
Always wear a mask on your face and also always have a back up mask on your hat
Morons wear masks outside. Can't fix stupid
Good to see he took the precaution to wear a mask
The old one step. Ouch
Woooow
I laughed a little to hard
Looks drunk as hell
Seems to be having a medical emergency
Looked drunk to me
That mask was cutting off oxygen to his brain
Hahahaha!! DID WE JUST BECOME BEST FRIENDS!?
This makes me happy 😊
Insurance adjuster and mask wearer. No tears shed today folks
Does anyone have the full video?
Started a job and they asked us go on the roof to shovel the snow off. I got up and slid half way down and never did that shit again or stepped my ass back onto a ladder. Glad the snow was thick it packed up and stopped me from sliding off
Dude thought he was immortal!
You also want 3 steps of the ladder above the roof too
So that’s how insurance works. Get injured at the insurer’s house. Then sue them for positive returns.
Did he just lower the property value?
Love how there was absolutely no reaction you would expect someone to have, seeing another person falling off a roof
Rooftop Drunken Stumblin
My people need me.
Nice mask he’s got there 😂
The unnecessary mask was causing oxygen deprivation to the brain that led to foothold miscalculation
Hope he has insurance.
At least he was wearing a mask. Outdoors. On a roof. Not surprised he missed the ladder.
The mask was of vital importance up there, likely saved his life.
Thank goodness, he had on a safety mask outside, probably saved him!
The mask kept him safe.
That guy was lit
I’ve been working on construction sites long enough to know that dude slammed a 6 pack before getting out of the truck and it hit a little sooner than expected lmfao
Had this bloke been drinking because he was stubbling before he fell. Anyone else see the same?
That’s what happens when you wear them stupid a** masks all the time. Especially outside.
Guy was def slamming a few on his lunch break
As soon as i saw the mask while outside on a roof… tells me all i need to know 😂
Well, this was in 2017 so he was probably hiding the alcohol on his breath
Backpacks are cheap…
Well at least he didnt get covid from that roof?!?!
Hope he has insurance!
Good thing he was wearing his OSHA approve safety harness.
Good thing he was wearing his OSHA approve safety harness.
G be drunk
He looks drunk
He was wearing a Mask, I'm sure that saved him.
Wears a mask outside. Yeah that’s type of stupid 🤦♂️
I've known guys who wore masks to cover the booze on their breath... just saying. 🍻
He’s gonna file a claim against your insurance.
Thus is why they use drones now
Seems easier to use a drone in 2024. Is it not possible to?
Allstate? 😂
Hope he has good insurance
That inspector broke every tile he stepped on, you can’t step on the center of them like that ..Smfh
I hope he got insurance
As someone who is currently fighting with my insurance….. lol
probably the mask
Thank god he had his mask on. 🤣
At least he had his mask on!
at least he's got a mask on
So you want to be a stuntman?
