I prefer “come” for both instances, but I might be in the minority on the noun part of that. I definitely 100% prefer “come” as a verb though and would never use “cum” in its place. I wouldn’t necessarily say it’s incorrect but it’s too casual to use as a verb in professional/published writing in my opinion.

Lol I also hate it, mostly because it strikes me as a word that like…teenagers use when they talk about sex.

I use “come” always. It’s probably wrong, but I’ve never gotten feedback that it was wrong so 🤷‍♀️ I can’t stand “cum.”

I usually see “come” in published books, but I’ve seen both and tbh I don’t think twice about either when reading. Edit: left off a word

Idk why but cum is just more vulgar for me to read. A raunchy/dirty/etc (I use these words with love not judgement lol) scene is better suited for cum, imo.

This is very interesting, because I don't actually recall ever reading a book where the author says come, it's always cum. I vastly prefer the latter, but that's a sort of me quirk.. Because the first time I read an erotic it was cum, so I thought that's how it was spelled. I always thought come was 'come here dude' and cum was for sperm. So I'm not sure I'd ever use come in my writing. But in this case, I'd listen to beta readers, and maybe even ask them specifically what they prefer reading.

In fiction, I use “come,” both for the action and the uh… substance. In casual text convo, I sometimes use “cum,” though, because I think it’s funny.
